Levelling
The machine should be accurately levelled
by adjusting the four levelling feet so that it

,, correct closure and good tightness of the
door.

Connecting to the water supply
Water supply
The machine may be supplied with either
cold or hot water. In the latter case, make
Sure that the temperature of the hot water
never exceeds 65OC.
The inlet hose should be connected to a
3/4" gas thread spout (Fig. @ ) or to a
quick-coupling tap (Press-Block).Make Sure
that the water supply pressure is within the
lirnits indicated under the technical data.
The machine is backflooding-proof.
The water-stop device protects against water
damqges caused by leaks on the fill hose
which could develop due to natural ageing of
the hose.
In the water-stop system the leaking water
fills the corrugated hose and activates a stop
valve which cuts off the water supply to the
machine.
This fault is shown by a red sector on the
window (A
- Fig. @ ).
Would this occur, please turn off the water
tap and refer to your Service Agent to
replace the hose.
Water outlet connection
The outlet hose should be firmly hooked
over the edge of a sink or connected under
the sink or to a suitable waste pipe in the
wall which should incorporate an airbreak
(Fig. 0)
The top ofthe drain hose should not be
lower than 30 cm (minirnum)or higher than
100cm (maximum) from the floor level
(Fig. 0 ).
The water should be able to drain freely and,
/ therefore, the outlet hose should not be
1 choked or placed in such a way as to
i obstruct the normal water flow.
1 If an extension ofthe hose is required. it
: should not exceed 2 meters and the
I extension itself should have the Same inner
I diameter as the machine drain hose.

This light will come on when the On/Off
button is pressed and the machine Starts to
operate.
If will not go out until the switch is pressed to
turn the machine off, once the dishwashing
cycle has been completed.

The indicator shows when the salt container
needs refilling.

Loading the crockery
Prior to arranging the crockery in the
baskets,do remove the bigger food scraps
(suchas tiny bones, fish-bones, meat or
vegetable scraps, fruit peels, etc.) to prevent
the filter from clogging. which would cause
poor washing results.
Open the door and slide out the baskets to
be able to load the crockery
Using the bottom basket
(Fig. 0-0)
The lower basket is designed to take dishes.
salad-bowls, cutlery, etc.
The cutlery should be placed into the special
small removable basket.
To obtain good washing results,
it is
recommended to intermix spoons with
knives and forksso that they will not stick
together.
We also suggest that you stack the cutlery
into the special basket with the handles
facing downwards.
However,
if the handles of your cutlery are
very thin it is advisable to stack the cutlery
with the handles facing upwards. so as to
prevent them from sticking out from the
bottom of the small basket and thereby
blocking the lower spray arm.
Place tea spoons and other small cutlery on
the special cutlery-rack on one side

Using the top basket (Fig. Q - @ )
The top basket is designed to take dishes
(dessert plates, saucers) plus cups and
glasses which should be arranged as shown
! in the respective pictures.
Top basket raising & lowering
If very big plates (over 27 cm and upto 31
cm in diameter) are normally used, the top
basket will have to be raised to the upper
position This will make
it possible to
properly arrange these extra large plates in
the bottom basket To raise the top basket,
move the front runner stops (A
- Fig 0 ) of
the IJPPER basket outward and slide the
basket out
Refit the basket in the higher position and
replace the stops
(A) in the original position
With the top basket on this upper position
there is ofCourse less loading clearance in
the basket itself (whichwill in fact only take
dishes up to to
20 cm) and this will also
prevent utilization of the backet's raised cup
compartments
lmportant
When loading the crockery be absolutely
sure not to accidentally obstruct the water
inlet funnel at the centre of the upper basket.
Only a correct loading of the dishwasher will
ensure good washing results.
After loading the crockery, make sure that the
spray arms turn freely.
Reversible spray arm
If a small load ol heavily soiled crockery is to
be washed. this can be placed orily into ttie
bottom basket. At the sarne tinie ttie upper
spray-arm position should be reversed as
per Fig.

To do so, unhook the upper spray-arm from
the central Support and re-fit
it in a reverse
position (holes on the bottom).
In this way the wash efficiency is irnproved,
as the bottom basket is sprayed by both
arrns.
When the wash is completed, do remember
to reset the upper arm to the original position
(holeson the top).

Loading the rinse-aid
The rinse-aid dispenser. which automatically
dispenses the right amount of rinse-aidat
lhe proper time, is located inside the
dishwasher door.
This special liquid product is essential to
ensure prompt drying of the crockery and to
make it come out crystal-clear since it
prevents formation of stains due to the salts
contained in the water
Adjusting the dose
According to the finishand drying results
obtained adlust the dose of rinse-aidby
means of the
6 position selector (C -

Gradually increase the dose
if there are

Water soRener lmportant
Depending on the area, wclter contains more
or less limestone and mineral salts which
tend to deposit on the crockery forming
whitish markings that eventually cause all
surfaces to become dull.
The dishwasher incorporates a water
softener which purifies the water of all
Iimestone for dishwashing.
In this way the cleaning action 1s greatly
enhanced, no incrustations form and during
the rinsing phases the crockery is restored to
its original brilliance.
Operation of the water softener is completely
automatic.
Salt refilling
After unscrewing the cap, fill 1 kg. of specific
salt for water softeners using the funnel
supplied with the machine into the container
on the tub bottom (Fig.
@ ).
FiII the container with water (this operation
should be carried out during the first salt
filling only).
Carefully replace the container screwcap,
making Sure that the threading and the
gasket have no trace of salt.
After this, it will be sufficientto periodically
top up the Container with salt only. This
model features a salt refill indicator on the
control panel.

All salt refillingand topping up operations
should be carried out immediately prior to
starting any one of the complete wash cycles
(withthe exception of the RINSE
& HOLD
programme) in order to prevent the
possibility that any salt granules or salt water.

time on the bottom of the wash tub without
being properly diluted.
Use only specific salt for dishwashers.

Adjusting the water sofiener
The water softener can treat water hardness
up to 50QdH(German Scale) via

adlustment levels.
This appliance is supplied with a test strip
q.AOUATEST>>so that you can test the water
hardness up to 22OdH.
With water hardness beyond 22OdH ask the
exact water hardness degree to the local
Water Authority.
Find on the table below the level
corresponding to the hardness of your water
and the required adjustments.

If your water is level 1. there is no need to

If your water IS level 3 or 5, proceed as

Starting the machine
The controls for this appliance are positioned
on the top of the dishwasher door. The door
must be partially opened for the controls to
be used.
Push the ON/OFF Button
0 (1 ) to switch the
appliance On.

Cancel the WashProgramme
If you wish to cancel the cperating
programme and select a new programme
instead of a previously selected one. foilow
these instructions:

buttons when the appliance is on.
Close the door. After a few minutes an
audible Signal will sound the appliance can
be programmed again.
Wait for the end of the audible signal
(about 2 seconds) beforeopeningthe
door and selecting a new programme.
Caution
In general it is not advisable to Open the door
while the machine is working; if the door is
opened however, a safety cjevice ensures
that the machine sto~s.
Emptying the baskets
You are advised to empty the lower basket
first and then the upper one. This will avoid
any drops of water from falling from the
upper basket onto the contents of the lower
basket.

Care & cleaning
Cleaning the filter assembly
The filter assembly consists of a large
circular fine-mesh filter
(A) and two small
cone-shaped filters (B-C),fitting one within
the other. both being housed in the large
filter (Fig.
@ ).
We recommend that you inspect the two
small filters (B)and (C)after each wach
cycle, removing any food scraps that you
might detect.
To remove the filter (B),simply
lift it up
(Fig. @ 1.
To remove the inner filter (C).squeeze
together the two small plastic tongues
(Fig. @ ) sticking out from the bottom of
outer filter (B).
Replace the filters by pushing them back
until you feel they click.
The large fine-meshfilter (A)should be
cleaned from time to time (roughly once
every two months) on both sides with a
suitable brush.
To remove this large filter (A),take off the
bottom spray arm by releasing the catches
:
(D - Fig. @ ) and unlock the locking ring
(E - Fig. @ ) by turning it anticlockwise.
Replace the assembly reversing the above
procedure, making sure that the outer rim of
V the circular filter fitscorrectly in its housing
on the tub bottom.
The dishwasher should not be operated
i i without the filters being correctly installed.
j Periodic cleaning of .thefilters is essential for
'
asmooth and efficient operation of the
/ machine.
Cleaning the spray arm nozzles
The holes of the spray arm nozzles should
not be obstructed as this would greatly
reduce the effectiveness ofthe washing
cycle. To remove the bottom spray arm
release
it from its securing catches (D)and
pul1 it out (Fig. @ ).
To clean the nozzles of the top spray arm.
slide out the top backet whereby the spray
arm will become perfectly accessible. To
remove
it. unhook it from the central Support
(Fig. 0 ).
External cleaning
The control board should be wiped
periodically with
a soft damp cloth and, if
necessary, with a Iittle neutral detergent. To
clean these Parts. never use abrasive
products which might scratch the surface
Long idle periods
If the machine is not to be used for some
time,
it is advisable to take the following
precautions.
Disconnect the machine from the electrical
network and from the water supply.
FiII up the rinse aid Container.
! Leave the door alar to prevent bad smells
! from lingering in the machine.
Leave the inner part of the machine clean. by
I carrying out at least a rinse & hold
1 Programme.
I If you are moving
If you are moving and the dishwasher is
i transferred to a new location, make sure that
1 the machine is not tilted too much during
i transport.

Helpful Hints
For best washing results:
Beforeloading, remove all the scraps of food
and soak very heavily soiled potsand pans.
Always arrange saucepans. cups and
glasses etc. upside-down.
Tilt items with convex or concave surfaces so
that the water drains off easily.
Long items ofcutlery such as ladles, carving
knives etc. should be positioned horizontally
in the upper basket.
Avoid contact between the dishes as far as
possible. correct arrangement of the items
will give better washing results.
Light items (plastic bowls etc.)should be
loaded in the upper basket and arranged so
that they do not rriove during washing.
To save energy
Do not prewash the dishes under running
water.
Place the dishes in the machine immediately
after every meal and wait until the
dishwasher is full beforewashing.
If necessary run the Rinse and Hold
programme (see Programme Chart on the
following pages).so that any food scraps do
not become caked on the dishes while you
are waiting to run the complete wash
programme.
Select the economic programme when the
I baskets are not very fuli andlor when the
/ dishes are not very soiled following the
instructions given in the Programme Chart
(economy programme, quick programme).

ltems not suitable for
dish
washer
The following should not be washed in the
dishwasher:
Cutlery or dishes with wooden or horn
handles or glued parts.
Handmade items, wooden objects, antiques
or hand-painted china.
Certain types of decoration can discolour
: when washed in a dishwasher.
Crystal Ware and plastic objects, if not
guaranteed dishwasher-proof,should be
washed by hand. You are advised to place
them in the upper basket and to select a
delicate programme.
I
Certain types of glass can also become
opaque after being washed several times in a
dishwasher.
Silver cutlery tends to go black ifmixed with
steel cutlery. Place it in the cutlery basket
separate fromthe others.
lron and Cast iron obiects can rust and stain
the other items.
Aluminium tends to go black; copper, pewter
and brass tend to stain.
Note: When buying new dishes, ensure that
they are dishwasher-proof.

Something not
working
If your dishwasher does not work. it can be a
matter of servicing faults or of trifles that you
can solve easily and by yourself. Before
calling the Service Centre. check the
following list of possible sources of!ault.
The machinedoes not start
- The door has not been properly closed
- The plug is not properly inserted in the
power socket.
- There is no currerit at the socke: (Check
the fuse'~.
The machinedoes not loadwater
- The water tap is off
- The water supplv has been cut off
- The inlet hose is bent.
- The water inlet hose filter is clogged
The machine does not drain water
- The drain hose is bent.
- The sink drain is blocked.
- The drain hose extension is not correct
- The wall drain has no vent-hole.
Worst washing problems
- The baskets are too full.
- The dishes have not been properly
arranged.
- The spray arms are prevented from
rotating freely.
- The spray arm holes are clogged.
- The water inlet tunnel in the centre of the
upper basket is covered by dishes
- The end of the drain hose is submerged
in waste water (in the sink).
- The filters are clogged.
- The filters are not in the proper position.
- Not enough detergent has been used or it
is unsuitable.
- The detergent is old or has gone hard.
- The salt container cap is not properly
closed.
- The selected washing Programme is too
gentle.
Visible limedepositsor white film on the
dishes
- There is no salt.
- The softener has not been adjusted to the
hardness of water
- The rinse aid has run out or too little is
being used.
Traces of coffee,tea or lipstick havebeen
