optimum seat height
when your thigh and
lower leg make a right
angle.
To lower the seat
While seated, lift up the
right lever underneath
the seat – the pressure
of your weight will
lower the seat – release
the lever when the
seat is in the desired
position.
To raise the seat
Lift the lever up while
reducing the load on
the seat – the seat will
be raised – release the
lever when the seat is
in the desired position.

Seat depth
(models 9257 and
9207)
The seat depth can be
adjusted to your stature
in 5 different positions.
The seat depth has
been correctly adjusted
when there is a 2 finger
gap between the front
edge of the seat and
your lower legs while
you are leaning back.

Seat inclination
(optional for all
designs)
Reduces the inclination
of the seat and backrest
when synchronised in
the front position.
Forward tilt
With the dual synchro-
nized mechanism in its
free-floating position,
lean on the back and
pull out the left knob
underneath the seat.
When you lean forward,
the seat and back will
change to a forward-tilt-
ing position (additional
3° forwards).
Horizontal position
Push the knob back.
With the next move-
ment of the dual syn-
chronized mechanism,
the seat will return to
the 0° position.

Backrest height The backrest can be
adjusted to support the
lower back. The curve
in the backrest should
be in the lumbar region
– approximately at belt
height – and you should
feel it supporting your
weight.
To adjust
Turn the knob of the
back clasp to the left as
far as it will go. While
seated, push the back-
rest up- or downwards
in the desired position.
Then turn the knob back
to the right.

Pneumatic
lumbar support
(optional for all
models)
The pneumatic lumbar
support will comfortably
support your lumbar
vertebra. The amount
of lumbar support is
adjusted by means of
an integrated, ergo-
nomically shaped pneu-
matic air cushion.
To inflate the lumbar
support
Press the plus sign +
several times to fill
the cushion with air.
To deflate the lumbar
support
Let air out by press-
ing the minus sign –
several times.

Width
The armrest width
depends on your
stature. Push the
release handle
underneath the arm
support down – now
you can position the
armrests into the
desired lateral posi-
tion – lift the release
handle up.
2-D armrests
(models 9250/3 and
9257/3)
The armrests will
support the weight of
your arms not only
when relaxing, they
are also extremely
comfortable when you
are working at your
computer.
Height
When your fingers are
on the keyboard, the
armrests must support
your elbows.To raise

press the button under-
neath the arm pad and
push the armrests up
or down to the desired
position – then release
the button.

Angle
Getting the angle
right will help support
different types of work.
Swing the armrests
inwards while using
a keyboard. When you
are using your mouse,
swing the right (or
left) armrest outwards.
Grasp your arm pad
and pivot it to the left
or right – let the arm
pad lock into place and
release it.
Depth
The armrest depth
can be adapted to your
working position. When
you are working intently
in an upright position,
push the armrests for-
ward. Grasp the arm
pad and push it for- or
backwards into the
desired position – let
the arm pad lock into
place and release it.
Width
The armrest width
depends on your stat-
ure. Push the release
handle underneath the
arm support down –
now you can position
the armrests into the
desired lateral posi-
tion – lift the release
handle up.

Dual
synchronized
mechanism
Thanks to the dual syn-
chronized mechanism,
the seat and the back-
rest follow the natural
movements of the
body when you change
your working position,
going from an upright
position (for instance,
working intently at your
computer) or leaned
back (for instance when
reading documents) to
a relaxed position (for
instance when making
a phone call). Seat and
back will synchronize
at a ratio of 1:2.8. The
flexible connection of
the backrest to the
back clasp provides
supple comfort while
leaning back, a very
comfortable feature
of this swivel chair.
Tilt tension
The tilt tension of the
backrest can be adjust-
ed to your weight and
personal preference.
With the adjustment
knob, you can adjust
the tilt tension to a
body weight between
40 and 120 kg.
To increase
Pull the right operat-
ing lever underneath
the seat out (1) and
turn it clockwise (2).
To decrease
Turn the operating lever
counterclockwise until
the tilt tension is to
your liking – keep trying
by leaning back- and
forwards until you feel
comfortable – press the
operating lever back in.
Safety
Use the operating
lever only when the
backrest is unloaded.
Press the operating
back in when the tilt
tension is adjusted.

To lock the dual syn-
chronized mechanism
The position of the
seat/backrest can be
locked in 4 positions.
To lock
While seated, lean
back until the backrest
is in the desired posi-
tion. Tilt the left lever
underneath the seat up
to lock the mechanism.
To release
Lean against the
locked backrest –
push the lever down –
remove the load
from the backrest –
the dual synchronized
mechanism is now
back in its free float-
ing position.

Headrest
(optional for models

The headrest is height
and depth adjustable,
so you can adjust it to
your stature and height.
It will relieve the strain
on your shoulders and
neck muscles.
Height
Grasp the headrest and
raise or lower it into one
of the 7 locking posi-
tions – lock the headrest
into place when it is in
a comfortable position.

Depth
The headrest can be
freely positioned by
turning the knob at the
rear of the headrest
support. The headrest
will move forwards
when you turn the knob
clockwise and back-
wards in the counter-
clockwise direction.
Dynamic headrest
The headrest will
automatically adapt
its angle to the move-
ments of your head.
It will return to its
starting position as
soon as the headrest
is unloaded.

Castors
The 5-prong base is
equipped with self-brak-
ing castors to prevent
the swivel chair from
rolling away when not
being used.
Hard castors
(standard)
Black, diameter 65 mm,
hard outer cover and
low rolling resistance.
Recommended for
carpeting.
Soft castors
Black with a grey
ring, diameter 65 mm,
soft outer cover and
a higher rolling resist-
ance. Recommended
for parquet, tiles or
synthetic floors.
Safety
The castors need to
be replaced when
the floor covering is
changed. Spare
castors are obtainable
from Kusch+ Co. The
swivel chair is design-
ed to be sat upon. Do
not climb on or stand
on a swivel chair/
armchair. Only skilled
personnel may service
the gas spring. Neither
heat the gas spring
nor open it.
