instruction manual contains warnings and safety rules which must be
observedby the userto ensure safeoperation of theinstrumentand
retainitinsafecondition.Therefore, read throughtheseoperating

¡Nevermakemeasurementonthecircuitinwhich voltage over
AC300Vexists.
¡Donotattempttomakemeasurementinthepresenceofflammable
gasses.
Otherwise,the use of the instrumentmay causesparking, which
canleadtoanexplosion.
¡Transformerjawtipsaredesignednottoshortthecircuitundertest.
Ifequipment undertest hasexposed conductiveparts, however,
extraprecautionshouldbetakentominimizethepossibilityof
shorting.
¡Never attempt to use the instrument if its surface or your handis
wet.
¡Donotexceedthe maximumallowableinputofany measuring
range.
¡NeveropentheBatterycoverduringameasurement.
¡Verifyproper operationon a knownsource beforeuse ortaking
actionasaresultoftheindicationofthedevice.
WARNING
¡Never attempt to make measurement if any abnormal conditions,
suchas brokencase andexposed metalparts arefound on the
instrument.
¡Donotinstallsubstitutepartsormakeanymodificationtothe
instrument.
Forrepairorre-calibration,returntheinstrumenttoyourlocalKEW
distributorfromwhereitwaspurchased.
¡Donottrytoreplacethebatteriesifthesurfaceoftheinstrumentis
wet.
¡Makesuretoremovetheinputclamps,andpoweroffthe
instrumentwhenopeningtheBatterycoverforbatteryreplacement.
CAUTION
¡Do not expose the instrument to the direct sun, high temperature
andhumidityordewfall.
¡Besuretopowerofftheinstrumentafteruse.Whentheinstrument
willnotbeinuseforalongperiod,placeitinstorageafterremoving
thebatteries.
¡Usea cloth dipped in wateror neutraldetergent for cleaningthe
instrument.

clampsensor.(Leakclampsensors:M-8141/8142/8143are
available.)
¡Canmeasureandrecordmax.AC1000mA(50/60Hz)withRMS.
¡LED current indicator flashes when the preset current value is
exceeded.(Event/Max.value/Capturerecordingmode)
¡Canstore60,000datawhenusing1ch,andwhenusingall3ch,
can store 20,000 data at each channel. (Continuous recording
mode)
¡Datawill not belost at batteryreplacement or atlower battery
voltageasitisstoredinnonvolatilememory.
¡CanperformrecordingforlongtimewithPower-savefunction.

Step1:Preparation
1.Connect the clamp sensor to the
instrumentfirmlywithcarefulattentionto
theorientationoftheconnector.
2.Press the button at least 1 sec. to
poweronthe instrument. Releasethe
button when all indications are
displayedontheLCD.
3.TimeisdisplayedontheLCDfor1sec.
If incorrect time is displayed each time
whentheinstrumentispoweredon,
batteryfortheclockmaybeexhausted.
Inthiscase,sendbacktheinstrumentto
yourlocalKEWdistributorfromwhereit
waspurchased.
4.Canmakemeasurementrightafter
poweringontheinstrument.When
(non-connect)is displayed ontheLCD,
a sensor is not connected to the
appropriatechannel; orthe connection
isincorrect.

Followtheproceduresstatedbelowandstartrecording.
Besuretocheckeachsettingbefore startingarecordingsincethe
settingscannotbechangedduringarecording.
1.Pressdownthe buttonforawhile.
¡Atcontinuous recordingmode orafter
changingtherecordingmode;"CLr"
flashes while the button is being
presseddown.Afewsecondslater,the
measuredvalueandthe"REC"mark
aredisplayedontheLCD.Thena
recordingstarts.
(Thedata,whichhadbeen recorded,
willbeclearedatthistime.Sothe
importantdatamust be transferredto
PCinadvance.)
¡AtEvent/Maxvalue/Capturerecording
modeortherecordingmodeisnot
changed,the "REC"mark flashesand
themeasuredvalueandthe"REC"
markaredisplayedontheLCD.Thena

flashes.The LED flashes each time when the preset currentvalue is
exceededduringameasurement.TheLEDkeepflashingoncethe
eventthatexceedsthepresetcurrentvalueoccursduring arecording.
Pressthe buttononcetorestoretheflashingLED.
Whenthebuttonispressed,theinstrumentgoesintoMenumode.Then
pressthe button.LEDflasheswhenthepresetcurrentvalue
isexceededagain.Pressthe buttontoreturntothemeasurement
screen;aftertheindicationsdisappearedbecauseofPower-save
function.Inthiscase,theLEDisturnedofftemporary.Pressthe
buttonand buttonagaintoturnofftheLEDcompletely.
