1Purpose
The aim of this document is to describe the usage of DIAVASO Data Logger application.
2Overview
DIAVASO Data Logger is an Android application that allows to collect datalogger and FDR data
from SensusRF endpoints.
This application is a part of the DIAVASO solution and can be installed and launched through
the DIAVASO dashboard.
3Requirements
•Android device with:
•Android version 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and higher
•Screen size at least 4 inches
•Bluetooth support
•Network access
•SIRT
•accessible FTP server (optional)
4User interface
The user interface consists of three parts: header, device list and navigation drawer. User can see
header and device list in the Figure 1 and navigation drawer in the Figure 2.
4.1 Header
Header consists of six buttons (from left to right): navigation drawer, multiselect, delete devices,
refresh devices, send files and basic filter. Navigation drawer opens screen as can be seen in the
Figure 2. Further details about navigation drawer are

explained in Section 4.2. Multiselect allows to select multiple devices at once and proceed to
obtain logs from all of them. Delete devices deletes all listed devices with an option to undo this
after deletion. Refresh device tries connect to all listed devices and gets current data from them.
Send files sends files to ftp server as configured in settings 5.7.1. Sending files to ftp server is
explained in detail in Section 7.2.1. Basic filter is used to find specific meter through text or status.
4.2 Navigation drawer
Navigation drawer, shown in Figure 2, serves as the place from which other screens of the
application can be accessed. The navigation drawer can be opened either by touching the icon on
the left side of the application’s header or by sliding your finger from the left edge of the device’s
screen.

7Collecting logs
The following chapters explain how the endpoints may be selected for the log collection and how
to configure which data will be collected.
7.1 Devices
Endpoints , their logs are going to be collected must be added to a Device list.
User may add devices using the floating Action (+) button in the bottom right corner of the
screen. It is shown on Figure 10.

7.1.1 Device counter
Device list screen contains number of devices in header part as shown in Figure 10.
7.1.2 Add device
When the Action button is clicked a menu with two options opens:
Restore deleted devices
Add meter
Add nearby meters
Import meters from file
FIGURE 2EMPTY DEVICE LIST WITH ADD DEVICE OPTIONS
Restore deleted meters
When the user deletes a meter or meters, he or she can add them back to the list by selecting this
option. The user can delete multiple meters and this option will restore them all. The deleted
meters are kept until the user adds another meter to the list (using add methods below) or the
application is restarted.

15
MS 7000 | DIAVASO Datalogger User Manual | 05/05/2017
Add device
When this option is selected an input dialog to insert a meter address (shown on Figure 11) is
opened. The radio address is expected to be in the decimal format with or without dashes. A
warning is displayed if the inserted address has incorrect format. The meter is added to the Device
list when the Add meter button is pushed.
FIGURE 11:ADD METER DIALOG
Add nearby meters
This option allows to add one or more meters that are in range without writing their addresses.
When the option is selected a new dialog is opened. Inside there are all reachable meters shown
as can be seen on Figure 12.
FIGURE 12: ADD NEARBY DEVICES DIALOG
The user may then select a single meter by clicking on it or all currently displayed meters using
the Add all button at right hand side of the dialog header. The selected meters disappear from this
list. The user can also remove unwanted meters from this list by swiping them out of the list. All
these operations have an undo option and work similarly to the way described in section 7.1.3.
This option requires the SIRT to be already connected.

16
MS 7000 | DIAVASO Datalogger User Manual | 05/05/2017
Import meters from file
This allows to add all meters from a csv file to device list. The format of the file must consist of one
column with meter addresses. When option is selected new dialog window is opened and user has
to insert the name of the file from FTP (Figure 13). It requires configured ftp connection. It does
not import meters that already exist in the list. This option does not require the SIRT to be
connected.
FIGURE 13: IMPORT METERS DIALOG
7.1.3 Device list
When a device is added to the device list it is added with the Not read status. If the SIRT is
connected the application starts requesting SEMI telegrams. When a SEMI telegram related to the
endpoint is captured the status of the device is changed to one of the Read statuses listed below.
This allows the user to recognize which devices are in the range.
Device statuses
not read
read without alarm
read with alarm
wrong key
log collection in progress
log collection is done
A progress message is also shown when an operation is in progress for the device as shown in
the Figure 14. Remaining BUP telegram count is also shown.

MS 7000 | DIAVASO Datalogger User Manual | 05/05/2017
FIGURE 14: DEVICE LIST –READING IN PROGRESS
Apart from the status the device type, signal strength and time of reading is shown for each
device. Readout value and alarms are displayed if the application was able to decrypt the SEMI
telegram. Otherwise a Wrong key label is displayed. Readout value is interpreted to match meter
unit detected from SEMI.
The user can also remove a device from the list by swiping it out (dragging it out) from the list
to left or right. After that an Undo button is shown at the bottom of the screen as displayed on
Figure 15. The previously deleted item is restored when the Undo button is pushed. The button
automatically dismisses after 10 seconds or when another item is deleted.

FIGURE 15: DEVICE LIST –ALL DEVICES READ,UNDO BUTTON FOR PREVIOUSLY DELETED ITEM SHOWN,ANOTHER METER IS GOING TO BE
DELETED USING SWIPE TO RIGHT SIDE
The list also contains a Refresh button. The button is placed on the right side of the header.
When pushed all the devices are refreshed (i.e. information from more recent telegram is shown)
except for the ones that are being requested for logs at the moment. This is useful to recognize
which devices are still in range after the user moved to a different location. The SEMI telegram is
used only if it is newer than 5 × expected BUP interval that is configured in Settings.
The list remembers all the added devices permanently unless they are deleted by user. This
allows to prepare the devices’ list at office and use it in field later.
7.2 Gathering log data
When a meter item is touched in the list the Log screen is shown (see Figure 16). If a tablet in the
landscape mode is used both the Device list and Log screen are displayed side by side. Otherwise
the Log screen is shown on the whole screen.

19
MS 7000 | DIAVASO Datalogger User Manual | 05/05/2017
FIGURE 16: LOG SCREEN
The screen is divided into two sections, one for Data logger and another for Fixed date
reading. Information about current log related status of the meter and log controls is shown in
both sections.
The Data logger view shows the current Logging interval and Time of last reset time values.
The Fixed date reading view shows the current Day of month and Time of last reset time
values.
In both sections, the user can set the time interval for which the log data will be downloaded
using the From and Until date pickers. All the available log data will be gathered by default –the
From date is set to last reset time and Until date is set to current date. Below, all the available log
counters that are configured for the selected meter are shown. By default all the counters are
switched on and related data will be downloaded.
The log download starts when the Apply button on the right side of the header is pushed. The
application communicates with the meter and collects the desired data in the background. The
download process may take a while and the user is informed about the progress as can be seen on
the Figure 17. The status section shows which log data is being gathered and the user can see
what counters were already processed and which ones is being processed right now.
