started and keep it in a safe place for future reference.
The Cordless Handheld Vacuum removes everyday dirt, dust
and debris. Ideal for dry clean-ups of small amounts around the
home and in the car. It is suitable for use on worktops, tables,
upholstered furniture and similar items. With dust and HEPA
lters for effective cleaning.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Carefully read all the instructions before using the appliance and
keep in a safe place for future reference. Always follow these
safety precautions when using the appliance to avoid personal
injury or damage to the appliance. This appliance should be
used only as described in this instruction book.
• This appliance can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance
in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be done by children unless they are
older than 8 and supervised.
• Make sure your electricity supply matches the voltage shown
on the appliance.
• Ensure all packaging materials and any promotional labels or
stickers are removed from the appliance before the rst use.
• Always inspect the appliance before use for noticeable signs
of damage. Do not use if damaged or has been dropped.

• Do not use this appliance if the lead is damaged. Contact the

• Always use the appliance on a dry surface and not in rooms
with a high humidity.
• Unplug from the mains when not in use and before cleaning.
To disconnect, turn the socket to “off” and remove the plug
from the mains socket.
• Do not use any accessories or attachments with this
appliance other than those recommended by Lakeland.
• To protect against re, electric shock or personal injury, do
not immerse cord, plug or lid in water or other liquids.
• Do not leave the lead hanging over the edge of a bed, kitchen
table or worktop, where it may be pulled by children, or
tripped over.
• For indoor use only and not in bathrooms.
• For domestic use only.
• This appliance should be used for vacuuming as described
within the instructions.
• Always ensure that your hands are dry before removing the
plug from the mains socket. Never pull the plug out of the
mains socket by its lead.
• To avoid injury or possible re, do not cover the appliance
when in use.
• Not recommended to be used with a plug in timer switch.

• An earthed extension cable may be used with care. The
electrical rating of the cable should be at least as great as the
appliance. Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of
the worktop or touch any hot surfaces.
• WARNING! A cut off plug inserted into a 13 amp socket
is a serious safety (shock) hazard. Ensure the cut off
plug is disposed of safely.
• CAUTION: The plastic bags used to wrap this appliance
or the packaging may be dangerous. To avoid risk of
suffocation, keep these bags out of reach of babies and
children. These bags are not toys.
• This appliance is a dry vacuum cleaner, DO NOT use it to
suck up liquid of any type.
• DO NOT immerse the charger or vacuum cleaner into the
water for cleaning to avoid any risk.
• NOTE: A small amount of dust residue in the dust container is
possible. This is a result of quality checks during production
and does not constitute a defect or used appliance.

AC ADAPTOR - CHARGER
• Only use the adaptor supplied by Lakeland.
• The AC adaptor has been designed for a specic voltage.
Always check that the mains voltage is the same as that
stated on the rating plate.
• An adaptor that is suitable for one type of battery pack may
create a risk of re when used with another battery pack.
Never use an adaptor from another appliance to attempt to
charge this appliance.
• Before use, check the adaptor cord for signs of damage or
ageing. A damaged or entangled cord increases the risk of
re and electric shock.
• Never carry the charger by the cord and DO NOT pull the cord
to disconnect from a socket.
• Keep the charger cord away from hot surfaces and sharp
edges.
• The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged
the charger should be discarded and replaced.

LI-ION BATTERY SAFETY
• This appliance includes Li-Ion batteries; DO NOT incinerate
batteries or expose to high temperatures, as they may
explode.
• DO NOT expose the battery pack to excessive shock, this
may result in leakage of the electrolyte solution which could
cause personal injury.
• Leaks from the battery cells can occur under extreme
conditions. DO NOT touch any liquid that leaks from the
battery. If the liquid gets on the skin wash immediately with
soap and water. If the liquid gets into the eyes, ush them
immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes
and seek medical attention. Wear gloves to handle the
battery and dispose of immediately in accordance with local
regulations.
• DO NOTshort the battery terminals as this may cause burns
or re.
• When disposing of the appliance remove the battery and
dispose of the battery safely in accordance with local
regulations.

USING YOUR CORDLESS HANDHELD
VACUUM FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Unpack the appliance, remove all of the packaging materials.
ASSEMBLING CHARGING BASE
• Join the two parts of the
charging base together, as in the
direction shown by the arrow,
until it clicks into place.
• Insert the small end of the
adaptor into the underside of the
charging base and thread the
cord into the holders to secure in
place. Place the power adaptor
plug into the mains wall electrical
power socket and switch on.
• Position the charging base on a
dry, at surface.
• Place the brush and crevice tool
accessories on the two holders
at the back of the charging base.
• Only use the mains adaptor which
is supplied with the appliance.

• Fully charge the appliance before
rst use.
• Make sure the Handheld Vacuum
is sat on the base correctly
and that the two rectangular
connectors on the underside
of the Handheld Vacuum are in
contact with the two pins at the
top of the charging base.
• It takes 4 hours to fully charge
the battery, when fully charged
the power indicator light on the
front of the Handheld Vacuum
will illuminate green, during
charging it will ash blue.
• The appliance cannot be
activated during the charging
process.
• When fully charged the appliance
will work for approximately 20
minutes, depending on speed
setting.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
• The appliance should only be used if it has been completely
and correctly assembled. The dust container and lters must
be inserted and must not be damaged. If the dirt were to get
into the motor unit, it could damage the motor.
• When you switch on the vacuum for the rst time you
may notice a slight burning smell, this is normal for a new
appliance and will stop after a few uses.
INTENDED USE
DO NOT use the appliance to suck up the following:
• Liquids or wet substances (e.g. wet carpet shampoo).
• Glowing ash, cigarette ends, matches and the like.
• Inammable or explosive substances.
• Very ne dust (e.g. concrete dust), ash, or toner.
• Pointed, hard objects such as large pieces of broken glass.

• Insert either the brush or crevice
tool into the end of the suction
nozzle.
• The brush is good for curtains,
carpets, chairs etc.
• The crevice tool is good for
dicult places and stairs.

• Press the power button and
the appliance will start to run,
during use the power light will
illuminate blue.
• The Handheld Vacuum has two
speeds, low and high, press the
speed button to switch between
the two speeds.
• Guide the appliance slowly over
the surface to be cleaned.
• To stop the appliance press the
power button, the power light
will not be lit.
• Always empty the dust
container after each use.
• The appliance will stop working
automatically when no power is
left in the battery.
• Always recharge after each use.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question: Why is the Cordless Handheld Vacuum not
charging up?
Answer: Check that the mains charger adaptor is plugged
into the charging base correctly and is switched on
at the mains wall socket.
Remove and reseat the Cordless Handheld Vacuum
on the charging base to make sure that it is correctly
in position and a connection is made between the
two.
Question: Why is the Cordless Handheld Vacuum not picking
up or got low suction?
Answer: The dust container maybe too full.
Check that both lters are not heavily clogged, if
they are clogged, remove lters and clean.
The suction opening maybe blocked, remove any
obstruction.

Question: Why during vacuum cleaning is there an
unpleasant smell?
Answer: When you switch on the vacuum for the rst
time you may notice a slight burning smell, this is
normal for a new appliance and will stop after a
few uses.
Check the lters and dust container for blockages
and clear.
If the smell persists or if when used frequently the
appliance develops a smell, stop using it, switch
off and unplug from the mains socket and contact
Lakeland customer care team on 015394 88100 or

CARE AND CLEANING
• Switch off the appliance and let it cool completely before
cleaning.
• Clean thoroughly before using for the rst time and after
every use.
• Check the parts for wear or damage after every few uses.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
• Empty the dust container each time after you have used the
appliance. The lters must also be regularly cleaned in order
to prevent overloading of the motor.
• Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning
pads to clean the appliance. These can damage the surface.
• Store the appliance in a dry, cool place that is not accessible
to children and animals.

• Press the silver dust container
release button on the underside
of the appliance. Remove
the dust container from the
Handheld Vacuum.
• Place your ngers into the
recess on the lter section at the
top of the dust container and pull
it out to remove the lters out of
the dust container.
• Empty the dust container into a
bin.
• Wipe out the dust container with
a dry cloth if necessary.
• Place the dust container
with lters in place on to the
Handheld Vacuum, lining up the
grooves on the dust container
with those on the Handheld
Vaccuum, until the dust
container clicks in position and
is secure.

CLEANING THE DUST AND HEPA FILTERS
• Place your ngers into the recess
on the lter section at the top
of the dust container and pull to
remove the lters out of the dust
container.
• Place you ngers into the
recess and turn the HEPA lter
anticlockwise until unlocked and
able to remove.
• Detach the dust lter from the
HEPA lter.
• Tap out both lters and clean
them with a soft brush if
necessary.
• If the appliance starts to work
ineciently, you can remove the
lters and rinse with water, wipe
to remove residual water and dry
completely before reinserting.
• Place the dust lter on the HEPA lter.
• Turn the HEPA lter clockwise until locked into place.
• Push the lters into the dust container.
