LCN LCN-GTS6 User manual

Sensor-keypad with
The LCN-GT6 (LCN-GTS6) is a 6-key sensor-keypad for the T-Port.
The integrated temperature sensor can be used on
(Juni 2013) or after.
The sensor keys are each equipped with an additional status-LED and a blue background
light.
®
A corona - surrounding light with white LED´s, serves as
a decorative wall light (LCN-NUI required) and can be
switched as a decent orentation light, so that the LCN-
GT6 (LCN-GTS6) can also be operated in darkness.
The 6 capacitive working sensor keys are situated
behind a 5mm thick glass front. A soft touch to the
surface is enough to trigger off the functions. The
captions on the sensor keys can be carried out individual-
ly per inlay and can be changed anytime without difficulty.

Scope of delivery
LCN-GT6 (LCN-GTS6), mounting plate, 2 screws 3,2 x 15mm & inlay sheet (blank).
How it functions
The sensor keys of the LCN-GT6 (LCN-GTS6) react to a touch on the glass surface.
Depending on the duration of touch, an appropriate LCN-control command (Hit, LONG or
RELEASE) will be sent. When no changes are made to the default key settings, (see page 5:
Key mapping), the keys work on the A table according to their numbering.
There is the possibility to trigger off 2 additional keys, through touching two keys at
the same time. Key A1+A6=D7 and A2+A5=D8.
This kind of double touching is especially suitable for functions, that should not be
accidentally triggered. (central-off, switching the alarm system, etc)
The integrated temperature sensor supplies the measured values with a triggering from
0,1°C, and thanks to its adaptive average calculation, practically noiseless.
The 6 Status-LED´s in the sensor areas are individually controlled over the T-Port and
configured over the LCN-PRO (ON, OFF, BLINKING, FLICKERING).
An external power supply is needed when operating the key background LED´s and the
®
Corona -surrounding light (please order LCN-NUI seperately). The application of a
power supply is also meaningful with a brighter environment; It increases the brightness of
all the LED´s on the LCN-GT6 ( LCN-GTS6 ).

The ,
background LED´s are controlled over the LED-command “GT-Brightness”. The bright-
®
ness of the corona -surrounding light and the O-Light is in several steps and the blue key-
background LED´s can be switched ON/OFF.
Installation
(An LCN-UPP with a high (dim-) load would falsify the measured value! )
Apart from that, the LCN-GT6 should not be installed near lights
. In this case it is
better to install an additional LCN-GRT !
The LCN-GT6 must not “wobble” on the wall, as this would
lead to false triggering. That is why when installing, the edges of the
cavity wall mounted box should be counter-sunk, or the flush mounted
box should not be surmounted on the wall, to guarantee a flawless
function of the LCN-GT6 (LCN-GTS6).

Important:
When the temperature sensor is in use, no heat sources should be in the flushed

, other heat sources,
cooling devices, as these factors would falsify the temperature values

Getting into operation
Requirements: LCN Bus module with firmware 1706.. (June 2013) or
after, if you do not use the integrated temperature sensor, even with
120C05 (December 2010) or after.
Settings: The
Key assigment (Key-Mapping):
According to customers wishes, larger keys can be assigned in the LCN-
PRO menu Ports . The assignments can
be comfortably chosen as graphics.
For example each line of 3 keys can be changed into 2 larger keys, see
the lower example. Important functions can be easily operated, without
losing the flexibility of many keys.
/T-Ports/Change mapping
LCN-GT6 (LCN-GTS6) will be automatically recognized
from the module and the temperature registered in the variable 3 - you
can check the value in the analogue status window of the LCN-PRO.

1. Insert guiding pins at an
angle from the bottom
2. engage to the bottom
corners in a slanted
movement
3. press the LCN-GT6 towards
the wall, lock slides on the side
When installing, firstly join the T-port cable to the connected UP(x) module
onto the wall.
At the bottom area, the LCN-GT6 must be hooked into the corners of the
mounting frame and pressed towards the wall. Through pushing in the
plastic slider on the side, the LCN-GT6 is locked firmly onto the mounting
frame.

Inscription
You will find the inscription software GT-Designer on our
homepage LCN.de in the download area, for creating captions
on your GT-inlays. The inlay must be cut to 61mm * 75mm.
Standard 80g printing paper is appropriate and easy to handle.
Semi-transparent paper/plastic sheet is even better for ideal
luminance of the status LED´s
Inserting the inlay into the key-sensor
Pull the plastic slide to the side (outwards) at the rear of the
key-sensor. Insert the inscripted inlay at the bottom side of the
LCN-GT6 (LCN-GTS6) into the groove until it resists.
Tip: If you cut off the corners of the inlay around 2 mm, it will
make it easier for inserting the inlay into the groove. When
changing the paper, remove the LCN-GT6 (LCN-GTS6) from
the wall.

Brightness / power supply LCN-NUI
The application of a power supply LCN-NUI is required
®
when the blue background light and/or the Corona
surrounding lights are being used. Apart from that, the
red status LED´s will light up brighter, that is important
with direct sunlight or when a reading precision is desired
from a long distance.
The power supply LCN-NUI is connected to the I-Port of
any module with year of manufacture 2013 or later, and
supplies the T-Port over the module.
The brightness of the status-LED´s, as well as the
®
Corona surrounding-light, can be reduced for the night
operation with the command LED control/LED
brightness.
Captions for the keys using ordinary paper and operation
without an LCN-NUI, make the LED´s harder to
recognise by direct exposure to light. In this case use
plastic sheets or an LCN-NUI.
