Launch the Mini growbox
Assemble the Mini Growbox
1. Take all parts of the Mini growbox out of the box.
Then insert the metal arm into the plastic base.
Place the arm legs above the circular holes -the leg
with the white cable belongs to the round aperture
between positions 3 and 4. Pass the cable through
the base.
2. Lightly slide both arms into the apertures in the
base -there should be a gentle click.
3. Place the cable into the cable clamps in the base
and pass it out through the aperture.
4. Place the Mini growbox in a suitable place, carefully
remove the rubber cap on the camera and plug the
growbox into the electric socket. After plugging in,
the light on the side of the arm should flash quickly
red and green and then slowly red and green. Now,
the Mini growbox awaits your entering the Wi-Fi
network.
TIP: Do you want to move the Mini growbox?
If you want to move the already connected growbox to
another place, unplug it and carefully move it where you need
it. However, be careful –never carry it by the arm, always use
the base. Suppose you inadvertently grab the Mini by the arm.
In that case, you can damage the camera, or the weight of the
watered capsules may rip it from the base and, thus, destroy
the entire device.

Launch the Mini growbox
Connect your Mini to Wi-Fi
1. Find the network called LLconfigxxxxxx (xxx means
letters and numbers) in the Wi-Fi configurator on
your mobile phone -this is a hotspot created by your
Mini growbox. Click to connect your mobile to it. If
the network requires a password, enter “LLconfig”
(without the quotation marks) but use the upper
and lower cases.
2. In your mobile phone, fill in the form: SSID is the
name of your home Wi-Fi network, the password is
the password you use when connecting to the home
Wi-Fi. At the bottom of the form, please, fill in the
time zone and the times when the Mini growbox
should be lit. We recommend adapting the lighting
to your daily rhythm. The light should be on, if
possible, 14 hours a day. Should the form not appear
on your mobile phone, enter 10.10.10.10 into the
web browser. However, you must be connected to
the Mini hotspot.
3. Once the Wi-Fi is set up correctly, the Mini growbox
shall restart itself (it will flash red/green quickly).
However, the LED light will still not be lit, because
the Mini awaits its pairing with the mobile
application by scanning the QR from the screen of
your mobile phone (see section Connect the Mini
growbox to the LeafLearn application). While
waiting for the QR code to be scanned by the mobile
phone, the Mini status diode flashes on the
application screen, always 7times green and once
red.
6

Add your Mini growbox to the app
1. You can register your Mini growbox in the
LeafLearn app. In the application, press the
“Register your Mini” button, name your device, and
press the “Add” button.
2. A QR code shall appear on the application screen.
Place your mobile phone with the visible QR code
in the middle of your Mini growbox base, between
the compartments for capsules. Do not switch off
the mobile phone and make sure that its display
does not turn off.
3. Within five minutes, the application shall
automatically pair with the growbox. You shall
recognise it because the entire device lights up,
and its side status diode is solid green and flashes
every minute. After about an hour, the Mini shall
switch to standard mode and flashes green
approximately every 10 seconds.
4. Is the growbox flashing green? It’s done! From now
on, you’ll find your Mini right in the LeafLearn app.
Should the growbox flash red, it has probably lost
the Wi-Fi signal and, therefore, cannot analyse the
plant growth. Even so, it will keep its light on; so
that your plants can continue to grow.

Start you first capsule
Insert the first capsule into the Mini
1. Open the capsule with microgreens. Peel off the cap
so that the entire capsule can be easily watered;
however, do not tear off the cap entirely, you will
still need the cap in a while.
2. Slowly pour approximately 200 ml of water into the
capsule, up to the lower edge thereof. Wait till the
water table drops close to the cotton wool. The
seeds must not be immersed in water completely;
thus, drain any excess water as soon as possible (so
that the fixing film does not dissolve). Then seal the
capsule again carefully.
3. Insert the closed capsule into the Mini growbox. If
you just started to use the growbox, the capsule
shall automatically appear in the LeafLearn app
within five minutes. For all other capsules, it will
take about an hour.
4. In 48 hours, the LeafLearn app will let you know that
you can tear off the cap. Do it as soon as possible;
otherwise, the growing microgreens will start lifting
it.
5. Now, all you have to do is watch your microgreens
grow. When the time is right, you will receive a
notification. Enjoy your meal!

Potential defects and their solutions
Do you think that something is not working right? The
majority of potential problems has a simple solution.
Take a look at the overview of defects.
Check your situation according to the list :
Situation # 1: The Mini growbox does not keep its lights on
Situation # 2: The lights in the growbox are on, but their timing
does not suit me
Situation # 3: The lights in the growbox are on, but the app
does not show the vegetating capsules
Situation # 4: The lights in the growbox are on, but the
application shows a different growth phase than I
observe
Situation # 5: After changing the Wi-Fi settings, the Mini
growbox does not light up or lights up, but flashes
red
Situation # 6: I want to change network settings
Situation # 7: Neither the Mini growbox nor any of the
troubleshooting mentioned above work
Situation # 8: I want to change the Mini growbox settings, but
even after holding the button for a long time, the
red/green diode does not start flashing slowly
alternately. The growbox restarts to the standard
operation mode.
Situation # 9: The Mini growbox works, but the capsule grows
poorly
E1
9

Situation # 1: The Mini growbox does not keep its
lights on
Solution: Unplug the Mini growbox for 5 seconds and
turn it on again. While the diode is flashing rapidly red
and green, press and hold the button placed in the
second aperture of the plastic cap so that you can feel
a slight click, hold it for about 5 seconds. When you
release the button, the diode shall start flashing red
and green slowly. Follow the instructions for launching
the Mini growbox, section “Connect the Mini growbox
to Wi-Fi”. Adjust the lighting time.
Situation # 2: The lights in the growbox are on, but
their timing does not suit me
Solution: You can set a new lighting time via the so-
called captive portal. Unplug the Mini for five seconds
and turn it on again. While the diode is flashing rapidly
red and green, press and hold the button placed in the
second aperture of the plastic cap so that you can feel
a slight click, hold it for about five seconds. When you
release the button, the diode shall start flashing red
and green slowly. Follow the instructions for launching
the Mini growbox, section “Connect the Mini growbox
to Wi-Fi”. Set the time when the Mini lights up -for
example, at six o’clock in the morning.

Potential defects and their solutions

Potential defects and their solutions
Situation # 3: The lights in the growbox are on, but
the app does not show the vegetating capsules
Solution:
1. Check that the microgreen capsule is inserted
correctly on the Mini tray and in the right place. Its
position in the application corresponds to the
position on the Mini tray. It is indicated by one to four
dots.
2. Check the status diode flashing and follow the
instructions for each situation (see the Table “What
does the side diode flashing on the Mini indicate?”).
3. Should the previous tips not help, unplug the
growbox for five seconds. The Mini restarts, and it
usually solves the problem.
4. If the Mini has already detected the growth phase
ready for harvesting, adult plants of larger
microgreen species such as radish may cover the QR
code of the capsule. In exceptional cases, artificial
intelligence cannot pair the capsule with an
appropriate position. Try to slightly push the plants in
the capsule so that they do not cover the QR code.
The capsule should re-appear in the application
within an hour.
11

Potential defects and their solutions
Problem # 4: The lights in the growbox are on, but
the application shows a different growth phase
than I observe
Solution: There may have been a temporary or
persistent Wi-Fi outage. Check that the Mini flashes
green once every 10 seconds. If so, check the
application settings when the last pictures were
taken and if your Wi-Fi is active. If the Wi-Fi is active,
unplug the Mini growbox for five seconds (remember
that the growbox is not lit at night, and at 6 a.m., it
can, therefore, display the status from the previous
evening). The Mini shall restart, and it usually solves
the problem. Should the Mini growbox flash red,
check the Table “What does the side diode flashing on
the Mini indicate?” and follow the instructions.
Problem # 5: After changing the Wi-Fi settings, the
Mini growbox does not light up or lights up, but
flashes red
Solution: Reset the Wi-Fi so that the Mini growbox
can connect correctly. Unplug the Mini for five
seconds and turn it on again. While the diode is
flashing rapidly red and green, press and hold the
button placed in the second aperture of the plastic
cap so that you can feel a slight click, hold it for about
five seconds. …

Potential defects and their solutions
…
When you release the button, the diode shall start
flashing red and green slowly. Follow the instructions
for launching the Mini growbox, section “Connect the
Mini growbox to Wi-Fi”. Fill in a new SSID and
password and press “Save and Reboot” button.
Problem # 6: I want to change network settings
Solution: Unplug the Mini for five seconds and turn it
on again. While the diode is flashing rapidly red and
green, press and hold the button placed in the second
aperture of the plastic cap so that you can feel a
slight click, hold it for about five seconds. When you
release the button, the diode shall start flashing red
and green slowly. Follow the instructions for
launching the Mini growbox, section “Connect the
Mini growbox to Wi-Fi”. Fill in a new SSID and
password and press “Save and Reboot” button.
Problem # 7: Neither the Mini growbox nor any of
the troubleshooting mentioned above work
Solution: Please, contact our hotline
support@microgreens.ai. If we are unable to assist
you, please complain about the goods.
13

Potential defects and their solutions
Problem # 8: I want to change the Mini growbox
settings, but even after holding the button for a
long time, the red/green diode does not start
flashing slowly alternately. The growbox restarts
to the standard operation mode.
Solution: Try unplugging the Mini growbox for 30 to
60 minutes during active lighting; this step will not
affect the growth analysis. Try to reset the Mini to the
configuration settings again, just as if you would
when changing the network settings (Problem # 6). If
that doesn’t work, contact our hotline
support@microgreens.ai.
Problem # 9: The Mini growbox works, but the
capsule grows poorly
Solution: First, please make sure that you have
followed the instructions for growing microgreens
from capsules (see the section “Insert the first
capsule into the Mini”). Also, keep in mind that plants
are living organisms. Our capsules are not chemically
treated and contain organic quality seeds. During
growth, they may, therefore, show slight deviations
from the average growth, just like in nature. Give the
plants a chance. However, if the capsule smells, throw
it away and replace it with a new one. If you have any
questions, you can contact our hotline
support@microgreens.ai.

What does the side diode flashing on
the Mini indicate?
Does your Mini growbox flash green, or is green alternating
with red? In that case, everything is fine. However, if it flashes
only red, it may indicate a problem. See what the flashing on
your Mini growbox means.
E2
How
does the
diode
flash?
What
does it mean?
It
flashes
red
/green (slow,
twice
per second)
The
Mini growbox is ready for activation (if you want to
launch
the growbox for the first time and you have not set
up
the Wi-Fi connection yet). LED lighting is off. Follow the
instructions
to launch the Mini growbox.
The
Mini growbox is ready for configuration adjustment
(
after you held the button in the second aperture of the
plastic
cover on the metal arm and after switching it off
and
on
again while the growbox still flashes red and green
quickly
). Follow the activation instructions from point 1 in
the
section “Connect the Mini growbox to Wi-Fi”.
Disconnecting
and reconnecting the Mini growbox to the
electricity
network cancels the configuration mode and the
growbox
shall work using the original settings.
It
flashes
red
/green (fast,
four
times per
second
This
condition always occurs when the Mini growbox is
reconnected
to the electricity network and takes five
seconds
. LED lighting is off. If you want to configure the
growbox
, hold the button for five seconds; as soon as you
release
it, the Mini will enter the configuration change
mode (
see point 1). Disconnecting and reconnecting the
Mini
growbox to the electricity network cancels the
configuration
mode and the growbox shall work using the
current
settings.
15

What does the side diode flashing on the Mini indicate?
It
flashes red
(
twice per
second)
The
Mini growbox connects to the set Wi-Fi network
(
according to the entered SSID and password). It usually
flashes
once or several times; however, if the signal is worse
and
the login takes longer. Moreover, the LED lights are off,
and
the Mini growbox cannot analyse the growth.
If
the red diode flashes continuously, you had probably
entered
the Wi-Fi network password and/or SSID incorrectly
the
first time you activated the Mini. Suppose the growbox
has
already
been activated and worked correctly. In that case, the
flashing
means that your Mini cannot pick up the Wi-Fi signal,
or
that your Wi-Fi network is not active. In that case,
temporarily
move the Mini growbox closer to your router, or
restart
the router. You can also disconnect and re-connect the
Mini to
the network –it can also solve the problem.
It
flashes red
once
every 10
seconds
Idle
state, the device has no connectivity and is not taking
pictures
. LED lighting is off. Move the Mini growbox
temporarily
closer to your router, or restart the router. You
can
also
disconnect and re-connect the Mini to the network –it
can
also solve the problem.
Green
flashes
seven
times,
then
red lights
up
for a long
time
The
camera is taking pictures, the LED is on, the
image has not
been
sent, and/or the server returned it as an error. The
plants
are
photographed once an hour; thus, you can observe the
flashing
when sending the photo for about an hour.
Suppose
the Mini growbox is not registered and you are just
activating
it. In that case, the registration QR code will be
photographed
every 10 seconds (up to 600 times in a row).
The
error is usually caused when the QR code cannot be
recognised
during registration (there can be reflections on the
mobile
phone glass and non-recognition of the code). Try to
place
the mobile phone under the camera differently.
If
the Mini growbox is registered, this error can occur if there
is
no connectivity (Wi-Fi network does not work). Move the
Mini
growbox temporarily closer to your router, or restart the
router
. You can also disconnect and re-connect the Mini to the
network
for five seconds –it can also solve the problem. By
the
way, in case of this error, try to send pictures of the plants
and
repeat the action in five minutes, altogether, three times.
If
it fails for the third time, the next photo shall be taken after
an
hour.

What does the side diode flashing on the Mini indicate?
Green
flashes
seven
times and
then
lights up
for
a
longer time
Everything
is fine, the LED lights are on, and the Mini growbox
is
just sending a picture of your microgreens for growth
analysis
. It usually takes about an hour. Photos are taken once
an
hour. The LED light is on, and everything is fine.
It
flashes green
once
every 10
seconds
Idle
state, the device has connectivity, LED lighting is on, the
camera
is not taking pictures. Everything is alright.
Green
is steady
on, green
flashes
seven
times
every
minute
Demo mode so
that you can see your capsules in the app in
minutes
. This condition occurs only when the Mini growbox is
activated
for the first time and after successful registration in
the
application, or when re-registering, and lasts only one
hour
. During this period, the capsules are photographed
more
often
, about once a minute. The LED lighting is on, regardless
of
the set-up timing.
If
the Mini growbox is switched off and on again at this time,
the
demo mode will no longer be restored, and the standard
mode
will start (lighting according to the time set and pictures
shall
be taken once an hour).
