Introduction and Important Notes about Safe Operation
Before using the Leaf AFi digital camera system, you must read this guide and
understand it.
When using the camera system, you must follow all of the safety precautions and
recommended procedures. This guide must be accessible to anyone who operates
the camera system.
Your failure to read, understand, and follow the information in this guide may result
in the incorrect operation of this product and could create a dangerous situation.
This could result in serious injury as well as damage to the equipment.
The following symbols are used in this section:
Advice for the Prevention of Injuries
The Leaf AFi digital camera system is not waterproof and is not suitable for
underwater photography. Avoid operating the camera system around water.
If the camera system has come into contact with water, disconnect the power
supply and/or remove the battery to prevent the danger of an electrical shock.
Do not use the Leaf AFi digital camera system. Contact Leaf Customer Support
for advice.
If you experience any abnormal behavior in the Leaf AFi digital camera system,
for example smoke, noise, or smell, immediately stop using the camera system.
Disconnect the power supply and/or remove the battery. Contact Leaf Customer
Support for advice.
WARNING: Indicates a hazardous situation, which, if not avoided, could result in death
or serious injury.
CAUTION: Indicates a hazardous situation, which, if not avoided, could result in minor
or moderate injury. It also may be used to alert against possible damage to property.
WARNING: Do not insert any metal pieces into the electric contacts of the camera,
or the cable connections, or of any accessory parts. There is a danger of electrical
shock, or of damage to the Leaf AFi digital camera system.
WARNING: Do not use the Leaf AFi digital camera system in close proximity
to inflammable liquids or gas. There is a danger of an explosion.
WARNING: To prevent eye injury, do not focus the camera lens on the sun or other
bright light sources.

Caring for the Leaf AFi Digital Camera System
The Leaf AFi digital camera system is a sensitive, high-precision optical instrument.
Handle your camera system with care and in compliance with the care instructions
provided here.
When using the camera system, follow the guidelines outlined in this section.
Temperature and Humidity
Do not expose the Leaf AFi digital camera system to extreme temperature
conditions, below 0°C/32°F or above 40°C/104°F.
Do not expose the Leaf AFi digital camera system to extreme humidity. Operate
the Leaf AFi digital camera system only when the relative humidity is between
15% to 85%.
High temperatures and extreme humidity can lead to damage. Do not store the
Leaf AFi digital camera system in high temperature, humid, or dusty conditions.
Do not leave the camera system in a car where the temperatures can get very high.
Exposure to Water
The Leaf AFi digital camera system is not waterproof and is not suitable for underwater
photography. Avoid operating the camera system around water.
If there is water on the camera system, gently wipe it away with a dry, soft, wood-
free tissue.
If the camera system has been exposed to saline air, wipe the casing with
a lightly-moistened tissue.
Condensation can impair the camera system operation, and can lead to irreparable
damage. In order to avoid condensation, do not expose the camera system to rapidly
changing environment temperatures. Store the camera system in a sealed
plastic bag.
If your camera system has been exposed to condensation, remove the lens, digital
camera back, and battery from the camera body. Do not use the camera system until
the condensation has completely evaporated.
Exposure to Magnetic Fields
Avoid magnetic fields. Do not use the Leaf AFi digital camera system near devices
that produce a high electro-magnetic field. Strong magnetic fields can damage the
camera functions or destroy recorded data.
CAUTION: With the exception of the removal of the digital camera back and lenses,
never open or disassemble the Leaf AFi digital camera system parts, in particular the
protective infrared (IR) filter glass. Any arbitrary opening of the Leaf AFi digital camera
system casing nullifies the warranty. No liability will be assumed for personal injury
or equipment damage resulting from opening the casing.
CAUTION: The Leaf AFi digital camera system contains a magnet. Be advised that
magnetic fields may cause damage to watches, the magnetic strips of cards, and so on.

Keeping the Leaf AFi Digital Camera System Clean
Avoid contact with sand, dust, and toxic gas.
Avoid any agitation or soiling of the optical surfaces.
To avoid soiling or damage to the focusing screen, shut the waist-level finder when
not in use.
To clean the camera, use a soft and dry, or slightly moistened, piece of cloth. Do not
use cleaning agents containing organic solvents, benzyl, or diluting agents.
General Advice for Handling
If extension tubes are used with the Leaf AFi digital camera system, always
remove the tube from the camera body before releasing the tube from the lens.
Do not establish or release the connection between the tube and the lens while
the tube is attached to the camera body.
To avoid scratches or other damage, use the lens cap when the lens is not in use.
Do not leave the camera system in the sun.
Do not store the camera system with preserving agents or chemicals.
Do not store the camera system near heat sources. Storing the system near heat
sources can cause the cables or instruments to become deformed or damaged.
Spare Parts and Accessories
Use only the spare parts and accessories that are included in the Leaf AFi digital
camera system, or that are recommended by Leaf for use with the camera
system. No liability will be assumed for injuries or damages caused by the use
of non-authorized parts. Please contact your dealer for questions regarding
spare parts and accessories.
When using the camera system with parts that are not included, such as a flash
device, please observe the safety advice supplied with these components.
No liability will be assumed for injuries or damages caused by the non-observance
of safety information provided with third-party parts.
CAUTION: Do not touch the internal parts of the Leaf AFi digital camera system while
the lens and/or digital camera back are removed.
CAUTION: Leaving the Leaf AFi digital camera system in the sun without the lens cap
can cause a fire.
CAUTION: Damaged equipment can cause a fire or electrical shock.
WARNING: Store the Leaf AFi digital camera system out of reach of children.

Battery Label Caution Statement
The battery label caution statement is located on each battery.
Use the battery with the Leaf AFi digital camera system only. The battery should not
be used with other devices.
Battery Charger Safety Information
•Do not use this charger for charging battery packs other than a lithium
ion battery pack for an AFi camera system. A fire or explosion may result.
•Never disassemble or modify the charger in any way.
•Keep the charger free from moisture and water.
•Do not drop your charger, or give it a strong shock or vibration.
•Never apply excessive force when connecting or disconnecting the battery.
•Avoid direct sunlight or high temperatures (e.g. inside a car with closed
windows.) This may cause deformation, discoloration and malfunction.
•Do not expose to excessive heat or naked flame.
•Lithium battery packs are small yet have a large power capacity. However,
if exposed to extreme cold (below 10°C/50°F), the effective operational time
decreases significantly. Exposure to temperatures below 0°C/32°F will render
the battery inoperative. If you are planning to shoot in an environment at these
temperatures, carry the battery pack in a pocket to keep it warm, then attach
it just prior to shooting.
•Carry the battery pack in a plastic bag when transporting it.
•If the surrounding temperature is low during recharging, recharging may take
longer, or may not work at all. It is recommended that you recharge the battery
pack at room temperature (10°C to 30°C).
•Do not short circuit; may cause burns.
•Keep the charger out of reach of children.
•Once charging is complete, unplug the charger from power source.
•Only use original mains adaptor 12V DC or car lead to power the charger.
•Keep all contacts clean.
•Do not force any of the contacts.
•Never store the battery connected to the charger for an extensive period of time.
WARNING: The battery can explode, leak, or catch on fire if exposed to high
temperatures or fire, if opened, or if disassembled.
WARNING: The battery may explode or release toxic chemicals if disposed in fire.
Use the specified power supply and battery only. To prevent injury or burns, do not allow
metal objects to contact the charger terminals. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do
not remove the cover (or back). There are no user-serviceable parts.
Do not disassemble. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.

utilisation sûre
Avant d’utiliser l’Leaf AFi digital camera system, vous devez lire ce manuel
et le comprendre.
Lors de l’utilisation de l’camera system, vous devez respecter les mesures de
sécurité et les procédures recommandées. Ce manuel doit être à la disposition
de toute personne utilisant l’camera system.
Si vous négligez de lire, de comprendre et de respecter les informations
contenues dans ce manuel, il peut en résulter une mauvaise utilisation de ce produit
et, par conséquent, une situation dangereuse. Celle-ci peutavoir pour conséquences
des blessures sérieuses ainsi que des dommages à l’appareil.

Conseils de prévention des blessures
L’Leaf AFi digital camera system n’est pas étanche et ne convient pas
pour la photographie sous-marine. Évitez d’utiliser l’camera system près de l’eau.

L’Leaf AFi digital camera system est un instrument d’optique de précision très
sensible. Manipulez votre camera system avec précaution, conformément aux
instructions d’entretien indiquées ici.

Température et humidité
N’exposez pas l’Leaf AFi digital camera system à des conditions de températures
extrêmes (inférieures à 0 °C ou supérieures à 40 °C).
N’exposez pas l’Leaf AFi digital camera system à une humidité extrême.
Utilisez l’Leaf AFi digital camera system seulement lorsque l’humidité relative est
comprise entre 15 % et 85 %.

Si l’camera system a été exposé à l’air marin, essuyez le boîtier à l’aide d’un chiffon
légèrement humidifié.
La condensation peut dégrader le fonctionnement de l’camera system et causer
des dommages irréparables. Afin d’éviter la condensation, n’exposez pas l’camera
system à des changements rapides de température. Stockez l’camera system dans
un sac en plastique fermé.
Si votre camera system a été exposé à la condensation, démontez du boîtier de
l’appareil photo l’objectif, le dos et la batterie. N’utilisez pas l’camera system tant
que la condensation ne s’est pas totalement évaporée.
ATTENTION : exception faite des objectifs et du dos de l’appareil photo numérique,
vous ne devez jamais ouvrir ni démonter les pièces de l’Leaf AFi digital camera
system, en particulier la lentille de filtrage infrarouge (IR). Une ouverture injustifiée
du boîtier de l’Leaf AFi digital camera system annule la garantie. Aucune
responsabilité ne sera reconnue dans le cas de blessures physiques ou de
dommages à l’équipement résultant d’une ouverture du boîtier.

Exposition à des champs magnétiques
Évitez les champs magnétiques. N’utilisez pas l’Leaf AFi digital camera system
à proximité d’appareils générant un fort champ électromagnétique. Les champs
magnétiques élevés peuvent endommager les fonctions de l’appareil photo ou
détruire les données enregistrées.
Nettoyage de l’appareil photo numérique Leaf AFi
Évitez tout contact avec le sable, la poussière et les gaz toxiques.
Évitez d’agiter ou de tacher les surfaces optiques.
Pour éviter de salir ou d’endommager le verre de visée, fermez le viseur indirect
lorsque vous ne l’utilisez pas.
Pour nettoyer l’appareil photo, utilisez un chiffon doux et sec (ou légèrement
humide). N’utilisez pas de produits de nettoyage contenant des solvants
organiques, du benzyle ou des agents de dilution.
Conseils de manipulation généraux
Si des bagues intermédiaires sont utilisées avec l’Leaf AFi digital camera system,
retirez toujours la bague du boîtier de l’appareil photo avant de démonter la bague
de l’objectif. Ne créez pas et ne coupez la connexion entre la bague et l’objectif
lorsque la bague est fixée au boîtier de l’appareil.
Afin d’éviter les rayures ou d’autres dommages, mettez toujours le bouchon sur
l’objectif lorsque celui-ci n’est pas utilisé.
Ne laissez pas l’camera system au soleil.
N’entreposez pas l’camera system avec des produits chimiques ou des agents
de conservation.
N’entreposez pas l’camera system à proximité de sources de chaleur.
Stocker l’appareil à proximité de sources de chaleur peut causer la dégradation
ou la déformation des instruments ou des câbles.
ATTENTION : l’Leaf AFi digital camera system contient un aimant. Soyez conscient que
les champs magnétiques peuvent causer des dommages aux montres, aux bandes
magnétiques des cartes, etc.
ATTENTION : ne touchez pas les pièces internes de l’Leaf AFi digital camera system
lorsque l’objectif et/ou le dos de l’appareil photo numérique sont retirés.
ATTENTION : laisser l’Leaf AFi digital camera system en plein soleil sans
le couvre-objectif peut provoquer un incendie.

remplacée par l’utilisateur. Ne démontez pas. Contactez le personnel qualifié

Cependant, s’ils sont exposés à une température excessivement basse
(au-dessous de 10°C), le temps effectif de fonctionnement diminue
considérablement. Une exposition à des températures inférieures
à 0°C peut rendre la batterie inopérante. Si vous souhaitez utiliser l’appareil
dans un environnement à ces températures, transportez la batterie dans une
poche pour la garder au chaud, puis mettez-la en place juste avant de prendre
des photos.

Vor dem Bedienen des Leaf AFi digital camera systems müssen Sie dieses
Handbuch gelesen und verstanden haben.
Bei der Bedienung des camera systems müssen Sie alle Sicherheitsmaßnahmen
und Verfahrensempfehlungen befolgen. Dieses Handbuch muss für alle Personen
zugänglich sein, die das camera system bedienen und warten.
Wenn Sie die Informationen in diesem Handbuch nicht lesen, verstehen und
befolgen, kann dies zu einem fehlerhaften Betrieb des Produkts und zu gefährlichen
Situationen führen. Dadurch können Schäden am Gerät und schwere Verletzungen
verursacht werden.

Pflege des Leaf AFi-Digitalkamerasystems
Das Leaf AFi digital camera system ist ein optisches Gerät, das hochpräzise und
daher empfindlich ist. Behandeln Sie Ihr camera system sorgfältig, und befolgen Sie
die hier angegebenen Pflegehinweise.
Bei Gebrauch des camera systems müssen die Richtlinien in diesem Abschnitt
befolgt werden.
Temperatur und Luftfeuchtigkeit
Das Leaf AFi digital camera system darf keinen extremen Temperaturen unter
0 °C (32 °F) oder über 40 °C (104 °F) ausgesetzt werden.
Das Leaf AFi digital camera system darf keiner extremen Luftfeuchtigkeit ausgesetzt
werden. Das Leaf AFi digital camera system darf nur bei einer relativen
Luftfeuchtigkeit zwischen 15 und 85 % betrieben werden.
Hohe Temperaturen und extreme Luftfeuchtigkeit können Schaden verursachen.
Das Leaf AFi digital camera system darf nicht bei hohen Temperaturen oder in einer
feuchten bzw. staubigen Umgebung gelagert werden.
Lassen Sie das camera system nicht in einem Auto liegen, da es dort sehr heiß
werden kann.
Gefährdung durch Wasser
Das Leaf AFi digital camera system ist nicht wasserdicht und eignet sich daher nicht
zur Unterwasserfotografie. Vermeiden Sie den Betrieb des camera systems in
Wassernähe.
Falls sich auf dem camera system Wasser befindet, muss es mit einem trockenen,
weichen und holzfreien Tuch vorsichtig weggewischt werden.
Wenn das camera system salzhaltiger Luft ausgesetzt wurde, muss das Gehäuse
mit einem leicht angefeuchteten Tuch abgewischt werden.
Kondensation kann den Betrieb des camera systems beeinträchtigen und
irreparable Schäden verursachen. Setzen Sie das camera system keinen sich schnell
ändernden Umgebungstemperaturen aus, um Kondensation zu vermeiden.
Bewahren Sie das camera system in einem verschlossenen Kunststoffbeutel auf.
Falls das camera system von Kondensation betroffen ist, müssen Sie die Linse
und das digitale Kamerarückteil vom Kamerakörper abmontieren und den Akku
herausnehmen. Das camera system darf erst wieder verwendet werden, wenn das
Kondenswasser vollständig verdunstet ist.
VORSICHT: Mit Ausnahme der Kameraabdeckung und der Linsen dürfen die
Komponenten des Leaf AFi digital camera systems nie geöffnet oder zerlegt werden.
Dies gilt insbesondere für das IR-(Infrarot-)Schutzfilterglas. Die Garantie ist
ausgeschlossen, wenn das Gehäuse des Leaf AFi digital camera systems eigenmächtig
geöffnet wird. Es wird keine Haftung übernommen für Personenschaden oder Schäden
am Gerät, die durch das Öffnen des Gehäuses verursacht wurden.
