During the Set-Up of your Ledger Nano X, you will create a unique seed phrase consisting of 24
words. It’s imperative that you correctly document this seed phrase exactly like it is produced
and store your backup in a safe location. Losing access to your seed phrase will prevent you
from having access to your wallet. Giving access to the seed phrase associated with your
account to anyone else can potentially cause a loss of funds. Keep it secret! Keep it Safe!

navigation buttons to power it on.
Use the left navigation button to scroll through the welcome messages and choose the
option “Set Up As New Device” by pressing both the left and right navigation buttons at

To create your pin code, use the left navigation button to scroll through the numbers,
and then press both the left and right navigation buttons to select the number you’d like
to use. Repeat this process for the remaining 3 numbers of your PIN code.
In the next few steps, we’ll be creating your wallet's seed phrase. The seed phrase is
like a password, but it is comprised of 24 randomly selected unique words. It is
imperative that you write down each word correctly and in the exact order the device
creates.
Use the left button to generate each word of the seed phrase and then write down the
word on a piece of paper. Once you’ve selected all 24 words of your seed phrase, the
Ledger Nano X will ask you to Verify your seed phrase.
To verify your seed phrase, the Nano X will display 3 options for each of the 24 words
that make up your seed phrase. Use the left or right button to select the correct word for
your seed phrase in the same order you wrote the words down.

Once you’ve verified your seed phrase, make sure to store your written-down seed
phrase in a safe and secure location. This seed phrase will give anyone who has
access to it the ability to control your wallet, so make sure to keep it secret and safe. It’s
also a good idea to make a backup of this phrase, and save it in a second secure
location just to be safe.
At this point, your device is almost set up! To complete the Ledger Nano X set up we
need to use the Ledger Live software to create secure wallets for your cryptocurrency.
If you haven’t already, download the Ledger Live software from
https://www.ledger.com/ledger-live, and then install it on your computer.
Make sure your Ledger Nano X is connected to your computer using the USB cable
provided and then launch the Ledger Live app.
Once it launches, you’ll need to select “Allow Ledger Manager” on your Nano X by
pressing both the left and right navigation buttons.

In the Ledger Live app choose “Add Account”, and then scroll down the list of available
cryptocurrencies to select the type of wallet you’d like to create. For example, if you’d
like to create a wallet to store your Bitcoin, just select “Bitcoin (BTC)” from the list.
Once you’ve selected your currency you’re all done and your secure wallet has been
created.

Troubleshooting
Ledger Nano X will not connect to your computer.
oThe Nano X uses a small rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery. Even when plugged in
the battery needs to have some charge to operate. If your Nano X isn’t
connecting to your computer, leave it plugged in for 15 minutes to ensure the
battery has enough charge to operate normally.
oCheck the cable you’re using to connect your Nano X to your computer. If you’re
unable to connect your device, first try an alternate port on your computer. If
you’re still unable to connect try using an alternate cable to connect your device
to your computer.
Ledger Nano X is displaying a Low Battery Warning even after being plugged in for 15
minutes.
oVerify that the cable you are using is connecting to your computer properly. You
should see a small charging indicator in the upper right corner of the screen. If
you don’t see the charging icon, try using an alternate port on your computer.
