This knife should be exclusi ely used for honeycomb uncapping.
Do not use the knife to lift combs off supers nor to mo e cappings.
A safe rule to follow when working with electric de ices similar to
this one is to make sure that the floor is dry.

This knife has a 575 Watt heater element and will work
plugged into any 230 Volt power line.
CAUTION! Do not use the electric uncapping knife with direct
current supply because it would blow the power outlet it is
plugged in.

Prepare a sufficient amount of combs to uncap at a position
not likely to cause hindrance and easily accessible for the
operator.
After plugging the knife into a standard 220Vac power outlet,
wait for the knife to warm up.
To check whether the knife is hot enough, pour a small
amount of honey on the blade: if the honey tends to bubble
up the knife is ready for use.

By using a standard uncapping bench for support, hold
the frame firmly in you hand and run the knife o er the
cappings making sure that the whole length of the blade
is applied so that the correct temperature is maintained.
Carry out uncapping with care, pre enting the knife blade
from touching hard objects which might damage it.
When putting down the knife during use, make sure that it
rests on a non-flammable, non-deformable surface.
After uncapping completion, unplug the knife to pre ent
unnecessary o erheating.
To facilitate operations, ensure that the knife power cable
is free and does not hinder the uncapping procedure.
To clean the knife, allow it to warm up, unplug it and then
wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
