SETTING UP THE EXTERNAL DISC DRIVE
Step 1: Connect the drive to your computer using the supplied cable. The power
cable and the cable for data transfer should be used at different port groups, so that more
power can be drawn.
Step 2: Please wait until your computer finished to install the drivers. Modern operating
systems like Windows XP and S X already have compatible drivers installed and
support plug and play.
Step 3: To open the disc drive, just press the button on front of the drive.
Step 4: Insert the medium into the drive. Please check the medium before using it for
external damage. Defective media can shatter at high reading speed and thus destroy
the drive! Make sure that the used type of the medium is supported.
Step 5: After use, please remove the media from the drive. Depending on the operating
system, the drive can be opened by pressing the eject button on front of the drive or by a
corresponding software eject command ( S X). Please never disconnect the USB plug
before the medium was not properly removed from the drive.
Step 6: Close the tray of the drive. Now the USB plugs can be disconnected.
