How to Install Forté A-BUS iSolutions
Installation can be done in 7 Easy steps
LeisureTech recommends installation by an A-BUS qualified installer. For installers in your area visit
LOCATOR to find the closest one in your area.
For worry free installation use A-BUS approved Cat5e cable, Stranded DL-8

Step 3 Mount Hub
a Locate distribution hub in central location, near power
b Connect RJ-45 terminated cables from 1-4 rooms to hub (fig 4)
c Connect RJ-45 terminated cable from iPod Dock to hub (fig 4)
Step 1 Design placement
a Workout best placement of speakers take into consideration the following:
1 roofing beams
2 depth of roof cavity, check with speaker being installed.
Suggested minimum 80mm depth for Forte speakers
3 avoid any major power cables
bPlace iPod dock in a central location, eg; kitchen, hallway, lounge

Step 2 Install Cable
a Pre-wire DL-8 (CAT5e) in a star pattern from distribution hub (fig 1)
b Run DL-8 (CAT5e) from iPod dock to distribution hub (fig1)
c Label each cable with destination name (fig 2)
d Run speaker cable from slave speaker to amplified IR speaker
e Terminated both ends with RJ-45 connection in T568A configuration (fig 3)
f Test cable, connections and terminations with RJ-45 LAN tester

Step 5 A-BUS/DIRECT Speakers
a Cut hole to speaker cut out dimensions (Forte 6.5” = 206mm dia x 79mm depth)
b Pull cable through
c Connect RJ-45 terminated cable to Amplified IR speaker (fig 6)
d Connect speaker wire between the two to the clip terminals (fig 6)
e Do not screw into ceiling yet

Step 4 Connecting iPod module
a Cut hole to a standard single-gang wall plate size (75mm H x 45mm W)
b Pull cable through
c Connect RJ-45 terminated cable to module (fig5)
d Screw on to wall
Step 6 Power up
a Turn on power supply
b Turn on iPod and press play
c Turn volume up on Amplified speakers in each room, confirm music is playing.
Step 7 Final set up
a Turn volume up to maximum required level then adjust the trimpots on back
of Amplified IR speaker. This sets max volume level (fig8)
b Screw speakers into ceiling
c Test iPod control from each room, by pointing remote at Active IR speaker and
change track (iPod control are pre-programmed on source 1)
d When using single IR speaker select mono on back of speaker (fig 9)
e For programming keypad with wall cradle, see ABR-43 (fig 7) instructions FIG 9
