•Donot mixoldandnewbatteries.
•Donot mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc)or
rechargeable(nickel-cadmium)batteries.

personal listening with your headphones.
LISTENING TOTHE RADIO
You may listen to the radio through the stereo headphones.
1.Plug the headphones pluginto the HEADPHONES jack.
2.Slide the FUNCTIONswitch to AM or FM position.
3.Select thedesired station withtheTUNINGcontrol (adjustfor clearest
sound).
4.AdjusttheVOLUME control for the mostpleasing sound.
5.When listening is completed, slide theFUNCTIONswitchtotheTAPE
(RADIO OFF)position.
Astheheadphonescordfunctionsas theFMantenna,donotbunchitup.
Unwind andextendthecord as much as possible.
NOTE:
•Removeboth batteries duringlong periods(about30daysor more) of
non-use,possiblebattery leakageand corrosioncandamagetheset.
•Ifthesoundbecomesweak and unclear,the batteries may be weak.Replace
both batteriesatonce.
BATTERYINSTALLATION
SlidetheBATTERY DOOR asthe arrowdirectiontoopen it, andinsert2size
“AA”batteries,takingcare nottoreversethepositiveandnegative polarities.

TOINSERT THETAPE
1.Openthecassette door by holding thedoor asshown andgently pulling
it toyou.
2.Insert arecorded tapeinto the cassette holder ONTHEDOOR.
3.Closethecassettedoor gentlytill it clicks shut.
CAUTION: Donot pull doortoo strongly,oryou may damagethedoor.Treat
thisset withcare and it will last along time.
TAPE PLAY
1.Checkwhether or notthetapeis tightbeforeit is inserted.
2.Openthecassettedoorby hand, facethesideto beplayedtowardyou, and
insert the cassette tape.Close the cassette door.
3.Connectthe headphonestothe HEADPHONES jackand adjustthe
headphones bandfor properfit.
4.Press thePLAY button.
5.Adjust theVOLUME to controlthe sound levelyou like.
6.Toskip portionsofthecassettetape,presstheFASTF. button.
7.Tostop playing, press the STOP button, and the power source is also
shutoff.
(This set has abuilt-inauto-stop and the tape mechanism will stop
playing and shut off when itreaches the end of the tape.)
8.Tohear the otherside of tape, flipitover andpressPLAY .
Tokeep thetapefrom tangling, firmly
wind the tapebeforeinsertingit intothe
player.
Useof acassette with morethan90
minutes, suchas C-120 (120
minutes),isnotrecommended.The
extremethinness ofthistapemay
damagethisset.

TOHEARTHESAMESONGAGAIN
1.Remove the tape, flip it around to the other side and insert it.
2.PresstheFASTF. buttonfor ashort time.
3.Removetape,flip it around to the original side,re-insertand pressthe
PLAY button.
AUTOMATIC STOP-This setwillautomaticallyshutitselfoffwhenthetape
hasfinished playing,and thePLAY buttonwill popup.

CLEANINGTAPE HEAD
If thesounddropsoutor excessive
noiseoccurs,cleanthe magnetic head,
capstanand pinchrollerwithacotton
swab moistened with alcohol.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
PROBLEM CHECK THEFOLLOWING
Nosound.
Is the headphones plugged intothe jack?
-Plug it innow.
IstheVOLUME controlatminimum?
-Raisethevolume.
Arethebatteriesold ordead?
-Replacebothbatteries.
PLAY buttonwill
not stay down.
Thetapehasreachedtheend.Removethetape,
flipit over to the other side and insert into cassette
doorandpressPLAY .
AM/FMreception
weak.
Rotate the setforbetter AM or bring itclosertoa
window.For FM, extendthe headphoneswire
straight.
Poorquality
playback after
playingalong
time.
1.Checkif bothbatteries arefresh andinserted
correctly.
2.Useatapecleaningcassettetapetocleanthe
tapehead (available at most radio stores).
Tape stops in
middle ofplay.
Try adifferenttape.Tapemaybedamaged.Also
tryfast forwarding tape tilltheend.
