After each use – cleaning & storing
Soleplate care
Self-cleaning
1. Turn the iron off and unplug it.
2. Empty the water tank immediately after use. Do not store the iron with
water in it.
3. Wait until the iron has cooled before storing it. If needed, the outside
surface of the iron can be wiped with a damp cloth. Note: never use harsh
chemicals to clean the iron.
4. Always place the iron vertically on the base to protect the soleplate from
scratches, corrosion or stains.
Starch and other residues may be easily removed from the soleplate with a
damp cloth. To avoid scratching the surface, never use scourers to clean the
soleplate, and never place the iron on a rough surface.
1. Fill the water tank ½ full with water and position the iron on the base.
2. Select the temperature control dial to MAX and plug in the iron.
3. Allow the iron to heat up until the indicator light goes out.
4. Unplug the iron from the electrical outlet.
5. Keep the iron horizontally over a sink.
6. Set the steam control to the maximum position. Press the self-cleaning
button, the steam will now emit from the holes in the soleplate.
7. Move the iron forwards and backwards while this happens; keep going
until the water tank is empty.
8. Turn the steam knob to the off position. Place the iron on the base and
plug it in.
9. Set the temperature dial to the ‘MAX’ position, and let the iron heat
up again, the remainder of the water inside the steam chamber will now
vaporize and leave the iron through the soleplate. During this process of
dry steaming, it is advised to use the iron over an old piece of cloth.
