1. The connector on the oven thermostat is not tight enough causing excessive
heat in the area causing the thermostat to open.
2. Vent trim not installed or not installed properly.

Replace both the open thermostat and the main wiring harness, and verify the vent trim is installed
properly. After replacing the thermostat the oven will operate. However if the customer runs
another self clean the issue may occur again. Both The updated harness and verification of the vent
trim prevents this issue from occurring multiple times.

thermostats on the single wall oven. Refer to page 3 table “Thermostats” of this document
for applicable part numbers.
b. Replace the main wiring harness. See table below for updated part #’s for each
model.

c. Verify the vent trim is installed properly:
- Vent trim: Location No 5527, P/no MJZ41753801
The vent trim should be properly assembled on the front bottom of the oven. In addition,
check the angle between the vent trim and the front bottom of oven (the angle should be
50˚). The angle can be checked by measuring distance between the vent trim and the
bottom. If the distance is shorter than 0.31inch(8mm) or there is no vent trim installed,
the temperature at the electric components (such as thermostat) will overheat during
operation.
