b Connecting the supplied FM antenna ([See “Connecting
Antenna to the receiver” on page 31.)
c Connecting the receiver to your TV via an optical cable or an
HDMI cable. ([See “Connecting with an Optical Cable”,
“Connecting with an HDMI Cable” on page 23, 20.)
A Press the Power button to turn on the receiver.
B Press the Function button repeatedly until “OPT/HDMI ARC” appears on the status display.
C On your TV's settings, set the output speaker to [HDMI ARC], [Optical], or [External Speaker].
D When the TV is properly connected to the product, “OPTICAL”, “ ARC” will appear on the status display.
d If you are using an external device (ex. Blu-ray player, game
console, etc.), connect it to the receiver via an HDMI cable. ([
See “Connecting with an HDMI Cable” on page 25.)
e Playing Music from the USB ([See “Connecting to a USB
Storage Device” on page 45.)
A Press the Power button to turn on the receiver.
B Plug the USB storage device into the USB terminal.
C Press the Function button repeatedly until “USB” appears on the status display.
D Press the Play/Pause button to enjoy the music.
f Connecting a Portable Device ([See “AUX (Portable Input)
Connection” on page 30.)
A Press the Power button to turn on the receiver.
B Connect the external device to the AUX terminal via a 3.5 mm stereo cable. Product will automatically
recognised when connecting a stereo cable. “AUX” will appear on the status display.
C Turn the external device on and start playing.

g Connecting the product to your smartphone via Bluetooth ([

A Press the Power button to turn on the receiver.
B Tap the Settings button on your smartphone and select Bluetooth. Turn on the Bluetooth function.
( Off > On)
C Press the Bluetooth pair button on the remote control. After a moment, you will see “BT READY” on the
status display.
D Find and tap the product on your smartphone. The product appears as “LG-MR11(XX).”
E When the product is connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth, you can see the status display change
from “PAIRED” [“Connected Bluetooth device name” [“BT”.

A Find the LG XBOOM app on the Google Play or App Store and install it on your smartphone.
B Run the LG XBOOM app and use more features.

Installation
Setting up the speakers
The following illustration shows an example of positioning the speakers. Note that the illustrations in these
instructions differ from the actual unit for explanation purposes.
For the best possible surround sound, all the speakers other than the subwoofer should be placed at the same
distance from the listening position (a).
Note
• Speaker positions are as follows.
A Front speaker with built in subwoofer (L)
B Front speaker with built in subwoofer (R)
C Receiver
D Surround (Rear) speaker (L)
E Surround (Rear) speaker (R)
• Do not stack the speakers and be careful that the speaker should not fall down. Otherwise it may result in the
speaker malfunction and causing personal injury and/or property damage.
• Make sure to install the speaker with other people in order to prevent it from falling and causing injuries to the
installer.
• Please ensure there are no obstacles between the receiver and the speakers.

Connecting the Product
Please make sure to disconnect the AC power cord before making any connection between the receiver and any
other device.
Connecting the speakers
To connect the speakers to the receiver, insert the wires in the following order.
a Connect a speaker cable plugs to the receiver. When connecting a speaker cable plugs to the receiver, insert
the connector until it clicks.
b Match each speaker cable plugs to the same coloured connection terminal on the rear of the receiver.

c Plug the power cable into an outlet.
Note
• Do not try to lift the speaker alone. It needs two persons to lift the speaker. Otherwise it may result in the
speaker malfunction and cause personal injury and/or property damage.
• Check the volume level before playing music to prevent infirm, child, and pregnant women from being shocked
by the sudden and loud sound from the unit.
• Do not use the product in a limited space. It may damage a person’s hearing. It is recommended to use it in a
wide space.
• The speakers contain magnet parts, so colour irregularity may occur on the TV screen or PC monitor screen.
Please use the speakers far away from either TV screen or PC monitor.
• Connect the product to the speakers and cables provided at the time of product purchase.
- If you connect the product to speakers or cables other than those provided at the time of product purchase,
there can be a deterioration of sound quality or a speaker malfunction.
• When you connect speakers to the product, connect only one speaker to the output port that fits the speaker.
- If you connect multiple speakers to one output port, it may cause a product or speaker malfunction.

Front
aPower
This turns the product on/off.
bLIGHTING
Enjoy a light on the front of the receiver..
cPlay/Pause
Starts or pauses playback
Press the button to select Mono/Stereo in FM mode.
Bluetooth pair
Press and hold the button for 3 seconds or longer.
It allows you to pair your Bluetooth device such as a smartphone to this product for three minutes. ([
See “Connecting via Bluetooth” on page 42.)
dMIC
Connect a microphone to the MIC jack.
MIC Volume
This adjusts the Microphone sound volume with levels 0 to 15.
eFunction
Turns the knob to the right or left repeatedly to select the desired function or input mode.
• OPT/HDMI ARC: Connects the product to a TV that supports an optical cable, ARC or LG Sound Sync
• BT: Connects the product via Bluetooth.
• FM: You can listen to FM radio.
• USB: Connects the product to a USB storage device.
• AUX: Connects a portable device (MP3 player, etc).
• HDMI1/2/3: Connects the product to an HDMI input port.

fStatus display
Options such as input mode and volume are displayed in text.
• If there is no active input for 15 seconds, the status display will automatically dim. When you press
the button, the status display will light up again. You can change the display setting.([See “DISPLAY
menu” on page 39.)
Remote Control Receiver
• This receives wireless signals from the remote control.
gVOLUME (Volume knob)
Turns the knob to the right or left repeatedly to adjusts the speaker volume with levels 0 to 100.
hUSB port
Plug in a USB storage device to play music with the product.
AUX
Connects a portable device (MP3 player, etc) to AUX connector.
Note
• This product will turn itself off to save electricity in the case were the receiver is not connected to an external
device and is not used for 15 minutes (Except FM mode). On Aux mode, the product will turn off after 6 hours.

Plug the power cord into an outlet.

Connects the speaker cables.

Plug in an HDMI cable to connect an external device to the product.

Plug in an HDMI cable to connect the TV to the product.

Plug in an optical cable to connect the TV to the product.
eFM ANTENNA
Connect the supplied FM antenna.

You can use the remote to control all functions of the product, from turning the power on/off to enabling
cinematic sound.

Replacement of Battery

Use AAA 1.5V batteries. Replace the two batteries by inserting them into the remote control in accordance with
the directions indicated.
A Open the battery cover on the back of the remote control.
B Insert the batteries with the + and – ends corresponding to the markings.
C Close the battery cover.
Risk of fire or explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.

Turns the product on/off.
Function
Press the button repeatedly to select the desired input mode or function.
• OPT/HDMI ARC: Connects the product to a TV that supports an optical cable, ARC or LG Sound Sync.
• BT: Connects the product via Bluetooth.
• FM: You can listen to FM radio.
• USB: Connects the product to a USB storage device.
• AUX: Connects a portable device (MP3 player, etc).

VOL (Volume)
Adjusts the sound volume.
Bluetooth pair
It allows you to pair your Bluetooth device such as a smartphone to this product for three minutes. ([
See “Connecting via Bluetooth” on page 42.)
Mute
Mutes the sound. To cancel it, press on the remote control again or change the volume level.
FOLDER
Selects the USB folder.
REPEAT
In USB mode, listens to your files repeatedly or randomly.
In USB mode, press the button on the remote control repeatedly. Repeat/shuffle playback operates as
follows.
• ONE: Plays a same song repeatedly.
• FOLDER: Plays songs in a folder repeatedly.
• ALL: Plays all the songs repeatedly.
• SHUFFLE: Plays all the songs once randomly, and stops the playback.
• OFF: Plays songs in order and stops the playback.
SETTINGS
Displays or exits the SETTINGS menu. ([See “Settings and adjustments using the SETTINGS menu” on
page 35.)
STOP
- Stops playback.
- The product records the point where you pressed. If you press twice, the speaker will clear the stopped
point.
- Cancels DELETE function.

bSkip/Search
- Moving to the next music: Press the button once.
- Moving to the previous music: Press the button twice quickly.
- While playing a file on a USB storage device, press and hold the Skip/Search button. The search
begins. At this time, if you release your hand from the desired part, it will play from that part.
- Tunes in the desired radio station.
- Selects an option in the SETTINGS menu. ([See “Settings and adjustments using the SETTINGS
menu” on page 35.)
PRESET
- Chooses a preset number for a radio station. ([See “Presetting the Radio Stations” on page 33.)
- Selects an option in the SETTINGS menu. ([See “Settings and adjustments using the SETTINGS
menu” on page 35.)
OK (Play/Pause)
- Starts or pauses playback.
- Press the button to preset the radio stations in FM mode.
- Press and hold the button to select Mono/ Stereo in FM mode.
- Confirms the setting.

Press the button to select the desired sound field.
• AI SOUND PRO: Artificial intelligence selects the optimal sound settings to suit your content.
• CLEAR VOICE: Voice sound clear, improving the quality of voice sound.
• STANDARD: You can enjoy optimised sound.
• BASS BLAST (BASS BLAST+): Bass sounds are enhanced.
• FOOTBALL: Realistic sound like in a stadium.
• CINEMA: Play content with 3D sound similar to a movie theater.
• GAME: Optimised sound for game.
• MUSIC: You can enjoy better sound optimised for music.
USBREC. (Recording)
USB direct recording. ([See “Recording to USB” on page 48.)
INFO
View the connected input source or Bluetooth information.
• BT: Connected Bluetooth device name.
• OPT/ARC/HDMI1/HDMI2/HDMI3: Current sound source.
• USB: Current sound file name.
• USB Recording: Current recording progress time.
0 to 9 numerical buttons
Selects numbered files or preset number.
SLEEP
Sets dimmer or the system to turn off automatically at a specified time.
- Press the button repeatedly to select delay time between 10 and 180 minutes. After the delay time,
the unit will be turned off. To cancel the sleep function, press the button repeatedly until “OFF” appears.
- You can check the remaining time before the unit is turned off. Press the button to check or change the
remaining time.
DELETE
- Deletes MP3/WMA files. (USB only). ([See “Deleting a file/folder or format” on page 51.)
- Deletes all the saved stations.

dVOICE CANCELLER
You can reduce the vocal tones during music playback in USB and Bluetooth mode.

This button is not available.
LIGHTING
Turns the lighting on or off on the front of the receiver.
KEY CHANGER
Changes the key to suit your vocal range in USB and Bluetooth mode.
MICECHO
Press the button to select the desired ECHO mode when the microphone is connected.
VOCAL EFFECTS
Selects various vocal effects mode.
MIC. VOL (Volume)
This adjusts the microphone sound volume with levels 0 to 15.
Note
• Do not look directly at the light emitting part when the LIGHTING is turned on.
How to deactivate the wireless network connection(s).
Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds or longer to turn off the product.

Connecting to the TV
Connecting with an HDMI Cable
You can transmit TV audio to the product by connecting the TV to the product with an HDMI cable. Add a variety
of 3D effects to the original audio to fill the room with a deep, rich sound.
Watching TV after connecting with an HDMI cable
a Using the HDMI cable, connect the HDMI™ OUT dTV (ARC) terminal on the back of the receiver to the
HDMI IN (ARC) terminal on the TV as shown in the picture.
b Press the Function button repeatedly until “OPT/HDMI ARC” appears on the status display.
SETTINGS STOPREPEAT
c Press the Settings button on the TV remote control to enter the [Speaker] menu and set the output speaker
to [HDMI ARC]. Settings and menu items may vary depending on the TV manufacturer.
d When the TV is properly connected to the product, “ARC” will appear on the status display.
Note
• Make sure that your TV supports the ARC function before you press the Setting button on the TV remote
control and turn on ARC. For more information on how to set the function, refer to the TV user manual as it
may differ depending on the TV.
• If it does not switch to ARC function, make sure that SIMPLINK is turned on in the settings of the TV.
• Use a certified cable with the HDMI logo.
