(14) Amplifier to Telephone Cable

(1) Headset/Handset Button : When this button is in the down position coversation is through
the headset. When it is in the up position the conversation is routed to your telephone handset.
(2) Mute Indicator : Light indicates when the Mute feature is engaged.
(3) Mute Button : When this button is depressed the Mute feature is active and your voice will not be
heard at the other end of the call.
(4) Headset Port : Plug the curly cord of your headset in here.
(5) Listen Volume Adjust : Increases or decreses the volume of the caller's voice.
The number on the dial idicates the level of volume, 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest.
We recommend that you set the volume to the lowest level possible for audible conversation
to avoide acoustic injuries.
(6) Speak Volume Adjust : Increses or decreases the volume of your voice as heard by the caller.
(7) Configuration Switch : Allows the amplifier to operate with different telephone types.
(8) DC Power : 5V~6.3V 300mA AC adapter can be used instead of batteries.
Or USB cable(15) can be used also.
(9) Microphone Switch : Allows the amplifier to operate both Electret and Carbon microphone
telephones. Most modern telephones use electret microphones so this switch should be set to
the 'E' position.
(10) Handset Port : Connects to your telephone handset via your telephone handset curly cord.
(11) Telephone Port : Connects to your telephone via the short cord provided.
(12) Battery Compartment : Install two AA size alkaline batteries.

3. Set the Configuration Switch
- Remove the handset from the cradle.
- If you do't hear clear dialtone with the default Configuration Switch(7) setting, move the Configuration Switch(7)
through the three available positions until you do.
- If you do not hear dialtone in any of the three positions,
change the Microphone Switch(9) from 'E' to 'C' and try the three Configuration Switch(7) settings again.
4. Make a Test Call
- Set the Listen Volume Adjust(5) controll to around 4 and the Speak Volume Adjust(6) to the middle position.
- Remove the handset from the cradle and place a call to a friend or colleague.
- If your friend cannot hear your voice, or if you hear buzzing, try changing the Configuration Switch(7) setting.
- Adjust the Listen Volume Adjust(5) to suit your comfortable listening level, and if necessary adjust the Speak Volume
Adjust(6) so that your friend can hear your voice clearly.
- A plastic Screwdriver(13) is located at the base of the amplifier for changing the Speak Volume Adjust(6) setting.
3Setting
1. Power Supplies
- Ensure the amplifier is disconnected from your telephone.
- 5V~6.3V 300mA AC adapter or USB Power Supply is recommand for power.
- Alternatively install Batteries(Same as batteries replacement)
Place two AA size alkaline batteries into the Battery Compartment(12). Refer to Figure A.
2. Make Connections(Refer to Figure B.)
- Unplug the handset cord from the base of your telephone and insert it into the Handset Port(10) on the amplifier.
- Connect the short cord from the telephone base to the Telephone Port(11) on the amplifier.
- Connect the curly cord of your headset to the Headset Port(4) on the amplifier.

Receiving calls
- When your telephone rings, press the call answer button on your telephone or remove the handset
from the cradle to begin speaking.
- If you are using the headset then the Headset/Handset Button(1) should be in the down position.
- If you are using the telephone handset then the Headset/Handset Button(1) should be in the up position.
- To end call simply press the end call button on the phone or replace the handset.
Making Calls
- To make a call using the headset, remove the handset from the cradle and ensure
that the Headset/Handset Button(1) is the down position.
- When you hear dialtone, dial the number of the party you wish to call.
- If you want to use the telephone handset instead of the headset then the Headset/Handset Button(1)
should be in the up position.
Adjusting the volume and muting during a call
- To adjust the volume during a call simply roll the volume dial up or down accoring to the desired effect.
- To increase voice roll the panel so that the volume number increases on the dial,
and for lowering the volume roll the dial so that the number shown decreases.
- To mute the call, simply press the Mute Button(3). When you wish mute to finish,
simply release the Mute Button(3) by pressing it once more.
