Assembling the Covered Bridge
Your Covered Bridge is easy to assemble using a small Phillips-head screwdriver. Feed the
wires through the structure as described in the following steps. Refer to Figure 1.
1. Secure the ends to the roof using four washer screws (two at each end).
2. Feed the wires between the posts on the roof section and the edge of the roof. Run the wires
toward the left side of an end opening.
3. Install the sides using ten washer screws. Be sure that the sides “trap” the wires at the roof
and in the slots next to the opening.
4. Attach the metal base to the ends and the sides using 14 washer screws.

Powering the lamps
Your lamps require 12-18 volts (AC). You may connect the lamps to a separate accessory
transformer or to the track using a Lionel Lockon (available separately, 6-62900) or a
FasTrack Accessory Power Wire (available separately, 6-12053). To make the proper connections,
the wires must be stripped back 1/8” to 1/4”.
Only an adult should perform this task using a pair of wire strippers. Always use
care when stripping wires.
1. As illustrated in Figure 2, connect one
wire from each lamp to the Power/A
terminal on the transformer, the #1
terminal on the Lockon, or to one of the
FasTrack Accessory Power Wires.
On FasTrack layouts, we
recommend that you use wire nuts
(available at electronics supply
stores) to make the Accessory
Power Wire connections. Twist the
bare ends of the wires together,
then screw the wire nut over the
connection.
2. Attach the remaining lamps wires to the
Common/Ground/U terminal on the
transformer, the #2 Lockon terminal, or
the remaining Accessory Power Wire.
Replacing the lamps
Your Covered Bridge is illuminated by three lamps. During the
course of normal operations, the lamps may require
replacement. Replacement lamps (Lionel part no. 610-4102-301)
are available at your authorized Lionel Service Center or from
Lionel Service.
To remove a lamp, gently press the lamp into the socket,
rotate it counter-clockwise, and then lift it away. Install the
replacement, sliding the lamp all the way into the socket and
rotating it clockwise. Refer to Figure 3.
