9. Why can’t I connect to my unit?
I have configured my unit as per the Quick Start Guide and Manual, but I am still unable to
connect. What could cause this?
There may be several reasons why the connection cannot be established:
• Make sure after the initial configuration has been completed, you use a regular CAT5 Network
(ethernet) cable. This means that you cannot use the cable came with the unit, as the cable
provided with the unit is a Crossover cable (meant to connect the unit directly to the PC)
• Check that the IP address and Subnet mask are correct.
• Check the cable connections at both the unit and the router. Try swapping in a known good
cable.
• Check the username and password (password is case sensitive)
• Check the port number (port number by default is 80)

Try resetting the unit and starting again from Factory Defaults. The reset button is located on the

reset button.

12. Where can I get the Video Server software?
I do not have my Installation CD - where can I get the Video Server software?
Open Internet Explorer, and enter the IP address of your device. You will get a login screen - do
not enter the user name and password - instead, select the button with ‘Application Download’
written on it. This will allow you to download and install the software without the CD.
13. I am having difficulties connecting, and have a Linksys Router
I am having difficulties connecting to the Video unit, and I have a Linksys Router. Is there
additional settings that I need to complete?
Once you are connected to the local network, you have to change the default gateway from
192.168.1.65 to 192.168.1.1 (if you are using Linksys) to view remotely.
• Open a Command Prompt window by clicking on the Windows Start button, selecting the
‘Run’ option, and typing in CMD (and pressing the enter button on the keyboard). Type
IPCONFIG in the Command Prompt window, and confirm the IP address and default gateway.
• Try changing the IP address from 192.168.1.10 to anything between 192.168.1.100 and
192.168.1.254.
• If this still does not help, change the port number from 80 to something like 1000 and don't
forget to forward it accordingly.
