Special Cube Setup: Wi-Fi + Audio
Wi-Fi Connectivity
Hardwiring a surveillance camera is always the best solution. Since it is not always possible, we present this guide
to wireless surveillance installations.
Based on our testing, we recommend no more than 2 cameras per dedicated access point, and there must be no
more than 2 streaming devices on the dedicated access point. If you opt for 1080p resolution, drop your bit rate to
2.5Mbps and use 15 fps or lower. For 720p resolution, drop your bit rate to 1.5Mbps and use 15 fps or lower.
Your Luma Wi-Fi Cube camera connection must be at 80% signal strength with -67dBm minimum to have reliable
streaming video.
Please use the table below as a guide to setup your Luma Wi-Fi Cube camera on a Wi-Fi network.

Audio Guide
Once your Wi-Fi cube is activated and on the network, you can set up audio with the built-in microphone.
The audio feature is used for general audible activity levels. It is not designed to capture specific conversations with
complete clarity. Audio clarity depends on the distance, volume, ambient noise, and audio configurations.
Setting Up Audio
Log in to the camera interface and click on the Configuration icon.
Navigate to the Video/Audio. It opens at the Video tab.

Making Adjustments
If the camera is installed in a noisy area, the Environmental Noise Filter may improve sound quality. Navigate to
Video/Audio and click on the Audio tab. Use the dropdown menu to activate the Environmental Noise Filter.
If the audio feed is too quiet or too loud, adjust the input volume. Navigate to Video/Audio and click on the Audio
tab. Use the Input Volume slider to adjust the feed.
Troubleshooting
Issue Resolution
No audio from High or Medium
quality stream in app.
Mainstream and Substream needs to be configured to Video & Audio. The
default Stream Type out of the box is Video Stream, so it will need to be
manually changed in the web interface via Internet Explorer.
Audio is choppy and cuts in and out
intermittently.
This is a network/bandwidth related issue. Refer to the performance table
on the previous page.
Experiencing loud ambient noise and
can’t hear voices or conversations.
If the environment experiences a lot of ambient noise, turning ON the
Environmental Filter can reduce the noise and bring clarity to desired audio.
Audio is too quiet and hard to hear. You can adjust the Input Volume in the web interface. The default value is
70. You can raise or lower, depending on your audio need and environment.

Luma App One-Way Audio
Your Luma app can transmit the audio
feed from a 300-series cube camera. Note
that this is one-way communication; you
cannot speak through the app.
Launch the Luma app, and connect to the
cube camera live view.
In the live view screen, swipe the options
bar (below the video stream) to the left to
locate the speaker icon.
Tap the speaker icon to launch the audio.
It turns blue when activated.
