SAFETY FIRST
Your Safety is very important to us. Properly cared for, RoboLuber will give you extended time of rugged,
trouble-free performance. Please read this Operational Manual carefully. The Instructions contained in
this Manual must be read and understood by the operator prior to operating RoboLuber. It is extremely
important that you read the entire Manual to become familiar with the RoboLuber before you begin to
operate the unit. Please store this Operational Manual in the pocket of Carrying Case, for later reference.
Lumax Lubrication Products are Precision Engineered Tools, which are capable of creating Pressures well
above 10,000 PSI (690 BAR). Always use Safety Equipment. Always wear adequate Eye Protection.
Only Professional use assures Danger-free operation of these products. Warning: Extreme Pressure may
cause Nozzle Extension or Grease Hose to burst. Keep hands clear of the Extension and Hose during
operation of the Grease Gun. Always follow Grease Hose Instructions and Warnings.
Do not abuse the Hose. Never use the Hose to carry the Tool. Keep the Hose away from Heat,
Sharp Edges, or Moving parts. Never touch a Hose that is under Pressure. Hold the Hose only in
the area of the Spring Guard. Hoses are subject to rapid aging. Never use a Hose that is older than 2
years.
Hoses must never be Bent or Twisted with force. The smallest bending radius for hose is 4” (100 mm).
Immediately replace the Hose at first sign of Wear, Kink, or Damage to the outside Jacket.
Maintain your equipment periodically and check before each use that all connections are securely
fastened. High Working Pressures may result in grease being injected into flesh upon malfunction of
one of the Components. Only use Components that show no indications of damage. Be extra careful
while working with Needle Point Grease Adapters and Dispensers.
Keep your hands away from the Needle Point at all times when injecting Grease. Grease injection
injuries are a very serious injury. While working on the Grease Gun Barrel, make certain that the open,
threaded barrel-end always points away from yourself or others. Never point the Outlet at yourself or
others. Seek immediate medical care after an injury.
Important Operating Tip
RoboLuber has a built-in pressure relief valve that is factory pre-set to relieve pressure above 7,000
PSI (483 Bar) in case you encounter a Clogged or Tight Bearing, Clogged or damaged Grease Fitting,
or a Blocked Lubrication Line. Caution: If such a situation exists, then the piston in your RoboLuber
will work Feverishly (like a Jack Hammer rather than of a normal, smooth piston action). It will also
make unusual sound because it exerts undue pressure on the motor. You should immediately
stop the operation and remedy the blockage before continuing lubrication with the RoboLuber.
Do not continue to hold down trigger if the Grease Gun is stalled. This could Damage the Mechanism
and Motor or even cause a Fire. If you continue pressing the trigger, the excess grease will flow
back into the Barrel. However, this action is absolutely and strongly not recommended as it
would Damage the Tool, beyond repair.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES - FOR ALL BATTERY OPERATED TOOLS
WARNING! FAILURE TO FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS LISTED BELOW
MAY RESULT IN ELECTRIC SHOCK, FIRE AND/OR SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY
WORK AREA:
• Keep your work area clean, dry and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not operate Power Tools in Explosive Atmospheres, such as, in the presence of Flammable
Liquids, Gases, or Dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the Dust or Fumes,
particularly, in confined spaces.
• Keep Bystanders, Children, and Visitors away while operating a Power Tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control. Protect others in the work area from Debris such as Chips and Sparks.
Provide Barriers or Shields, as needed.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY:
•
A Battery Operated Tool with Integral Batteries or a separate Battery Pack must be recharged
only with the specified Charger for the Battery. A Charger that may be suitable for one type
of Battery may create a risk of Fire when used with another Battery.
• Use Battery Operated Tool only with specically designated Battery Pack. Use of any other
Batteries may create a Fire or Explosion.
PERSONAL SAFETY:
• Stay alert! Watch what you are doing. Use common sense when operating a Power Tool.
Do not use Power Tool when tired or under
the influence of Drugs, Alcohol, or Medication.
A moment of inattention while operating Power Tools may result in serious personal injury.
• Be aware that your RoboLuber is always in an operating condition, because it does not have to
be plugged into an Electrical Outlet.
• Avoid accidental starting. Prior to inserting Battery Pack or operating the unit, always check to
see that the Trigger-Lock Lever is not in a “flipped-up” position. Carrying tools with your finger on

enable better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
• Hold Tool by Insulated Gripping Surfaces when performing an operation.
• Do not leave the tool running. Operate the tool only when hand-held.
• Maintain Labels and Nameplates. These carry important information.
TOOL USE AND CARE:
• Use Clamps or other practical way to secure and support the work piece to a stable platform.
Holding the work by hand or against your body is unstable and may lead to loss of control.
• Do not force Tool. It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed.
• Do not use Tool if Switch does not turn it “On” or ”Off”. A Tool that cannot be controlled with
the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. Do not continue to hold down trigger if the
Grease Gun is stalled. This could damage the motor or cause Fire.

9
• Disconnect Battery Pack from Tool or before making any Adjustments, Changing
Accessories, or Storing the Tool. Such preventive Safety Measures reduce the risk of starting
the Tool accidentally.
• Store idle Tools out of reach of Children and other untrained persons. Tools are Dangerous
in the hands of untrained users.
• When Battery Pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like: Paper Clips,
Coins, Keys, Nails, Screws, or other small Metal Objects that can make a connection from one
terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause Sparks, Burns, or a Fire.
• Maintain Tools with Care. Properly maintained tools are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
• Check for Misalignment or Binding of Moving Parts, Breakage of Parts, and any other
condition that may affect the Tool’s Operation. If Damaged, have the Tool Serviced
before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools. Do not use a damaged
tool. Tag damaged tools “Do not use” until repaired.
• Use only accessories that are only recommended by Lumax for your model. Only accessories
that are capable of handling a minimum of 4,500 PSI (310 bar) should be used. Accessories that
may be suitable for one tool may create a risk of injury when used on another tool.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES
• Lumax Lubrication products are Precision Engineered Tools, which are capable of creating pressures
well above 10,000 PSI (690 BAR). Always use Safety Equipment. Always Wear Adequate Eye
Protection. Only Professional use assures Danger-free operation of these products. Warning:
Extreme Pressure may cause Nozzle Extension or Grease Hose to burst. Keep hands clear of
the Extension and Hose during operation of the Grease Gun. Be extra careful while working with
Needle point Grease Adapters and Dispensers. Keep your hands away from the Needle Point
at all times and when injecting Grease. Grease injection injuries are a very serious injury.

OPERATION
Before using your RoboLuber for the first time, the Battery Pack should be charged for a minimum
of 6 hours. If the Battery Pack is installed in the RoboLuber, remove it by following instructions under
Installing or Removing Battery Pack. Important: New Battery Packs are shipped in semi-charged
state. Charge your Battery Pack for 6 hours before first use.
The Battery Pack accepts only about 80% of its Maximum Capacity with its first few charge cycles. Full
loading Capacity of the Battery Pack is only reached after 4 - 5 Charges. RoboLuber has a built-in
Trigger-Lock Lever which ensures the grease gun won’t operate accidently. The Trigger-Lock Lever has
to be “flipped-up” to operate the Gun. To start the RoboLuber, simply flip-up the Trigger-Lock Lever and
pull the trigger. Release the trigger to stop. If RoboLuber is operated continuously until the Battery Pack
has almost discharged, allow it to rest for 15 minutes before proceeding with a fresh Battery Pack. As a
Battery Pack approaches the discharged state, you will notice a sharp drop in tool performance. When
the tool is unable to perform the task at hand, it is time to recharge the Battery Pack.
Your RoboLuber has been properly lubricated and is ready for use.
• Always Prime RoboLuber before using it to Lubricate Grease Points.
• Always Prime the RoboLuber after each Refill or Grease Cartridge change.
Air pockets in the Cartridge will cause the Grease Gun to lose its prime.
• To prime, operate RoboLuber until grease flows from the hose. Use Air Release Valve to expel
any Air pockets.
• RoboLuber has a built-in pressure relief valve that is factory pre-set to relieve pressure above
7,000 PSI (483 Bar). Caution: If there is a Clogged or Tight Bearing, Clogged or damaged Grease
Fitting, or a Blocked Lubrication Line, the piston in your RoboLuber will work Feverishly (like a Jack
Hammer rather than of a normal, smooth piston action). It will also make unusual sound because
it exerts undue pressure on the motor. You should immediately stop the operation and remedy
the blockage before continuing lubrication with the RoboLuber.
• Do not continue to hold down trigger if the Grease Gun is stalled. This could Damage the
Mechanism and Motor or even cause a Fire. If you continue pressing the trigger, the excess
grease will flow back into the Barrel.
However, this action is absolutely and strongly not
recommended as it would Damage the Tool.
CLEANING: To avoid accidents, always disconnect the tool and/or charger from the power supply
before cleaning. Clean dust and debris from charger and tool vents. Keep tool handles clean, dry and
free of oil or grease. RoboLuber may be cleaned most effectively with compressed dry air. Always wear
safety goggles when cleaning tools with compressed air. Ventilation openings and switch must
be kept clean and free of foreign matter. Do not attempt to clean by inserting pointed objects through
opening. Do Not use any Cleaning Agents or Solvents (gasoline, turpentine, lacquer thinner, paint
thinner, carbon tetrachloride, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia and household detergents that
contain ammonia). These Cleaning Agents and Solvents are harmful to plastics and other insulated
parts and will damage RoboLuber. Never use flammable or combustible solvents around tools.
SERVICE / MAINTENANCE: NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE. Visually inspect for any
Damaged, Loose, or Missing Parts. If the Equipment is Worn or Damaged, remove from Service. Never
disassemble the Tool, Battery Pack or Charger. Contact Lumax for damage assessment or Repair.
To maintain product Safety and Reliability, Repairs, Maintenance or Adjustment should be performed by
Lumax only. Preventive Maintenance performed by Unauthorized Personnel may result in Misplacing
of internal Wires and Components which could cause Serious Hazard. Use of unauthorized parts
may create risk of Injury and will void the Warranty.

13
BATTERY CHARGING
CHARGING BATTERY PACK (LX-2182) WITH 1 HOUR CHARGER (LX-2183)
CHARGING: Make sure the Input Power Circuit Voltage is the same as that shown on the Charger
Specification Plate. Connect Charger to Power Source Outlet.
CAUTION: Vent slots in bottom of Battery Pack must not be obstructed. Do not charge Battery Pack
when temperature is below 32°F (0°C) or above 104°F (40°C). Recharging the Battery Pack before this
condition is reached will reduce the total work life of the Battery Pack. Discharging the Battery Pack
beyond this point could damage the Battery Pack. Never completely discharge the Battery Pack.
NOTE: Charger is a fast recharge type charger. Insert the small plug on the end of the charger lead
into the plug hole on back of the battery. A red light on the Charger indicates the battery is charging.
When the battery is fully charged the red light turns green. The battery can be charged attached to or
removed from the grease gun. To remove battery from the grease gun, press the red button on back
of battery and slide battery out of the rear of the gun. DO NOT force battery if fitting or removing from
gun. Replace battery into grease gun, by carefully aligning the battery to the cavity on the gun, slide
battery in, until the battery locks into place. The first few charges should be for a minimum of 6
hours before use.
Battery Packs are affected by temperature. Your Battery Pack will perform best and have longest life if it is
charged when the temperature is between 60° - 80°F (15° - 27°C). Note: Battery Pack temperature will
increase during and shortly after use. Battery Pack may not accept a full charge if it is charged immediately
after use. For best results allow the Battery Pack to cool to room temperature before charging. Do not
charge in temperatures below 32°F (0°C) or above 104°F (40°C). Under these conditions, capacity will
be reduced. A substantial drop in operating time per charge may mean that the Battery Pack is nearing
the end of its life and should be replaced.
The temperature of the Battery Pack should be less than 120°F (48°C), before the Charger would start
charging. Red light would glow indicating the Battery Pack is receiving a fast charge. However, should
the temperature of the Battery Pack be higher than 131°F (55°C), Green light would glow initially indicating
the temperature of Battery Pack is greater than 131°F (55°C) and the Charger will not begin the charge
until the Battery Pack cools down. Once the Battery Pack cools down, the Charger would automatically
commence fast charging. This would be indicated by the Red light. Under normal conditions the Battery
Pack will be fully charged by over 90% within an hour. Green light would glow indicating that the Battery
Pack is fully charged and you may remove the Battery Pack from the Charger.
IMPORTANT NOTE:When the Battery Pack is fully charged, disconnect the Charger from Power
Source (unless you’re charging another Battery Pack) and slip the Battery Pack back into the tool.
• Drop off expended Battery Packs at your local
replacement Battery retailer, or your Recycling Center.
For further information, call 1-800-8-BATTERY.

14
TIPS FOR MAINTAINING MAXIMUM BATTERY LIFE
Lumax Battery Packs will operate for hundreds of cycles when they are maintained and used according
to these instructions:
1. Charge the Battery Pack before being completely discharged (<10% of the charge is left).
2. Always stop tool operation and charge the Battery Pack when you notice less tool power.
Be alert for Battery Packs that are nearing their end of life. If you notice decreased tool
performance or significantly shorter running time between charges then it is time to replace the
Battery Pack. Failure to do so can cause the tool to operate improperly or damage the Charger.
3. Charge the Battery Pack with room temperature at 50°-104°F (10°-40°C).
4. Let a hot Battery Pack cool down before charging it.
5. A Battery Pack that is stored for three months without being used will discharge itself. Batteries
discharge at a rate of about 1% per day. Charge the Battery Pack every six months even if it is
unused, to maximize Battery life.
6. Long term Battery storage should be in the discharged state. Battery Pack last longer and
re-charge better when they are stored discharged. Remember to fully recharge Battery Pack
before using after prolonged storage.
7. Store your Battery Pack in a Cool, Dry place. Do not store it where the temperature may exceed
120°F (50°C) such as in a vehicle or metal building during the summer. High temperatures will
overheat the Battery Pack, reducing Battery life.
8. If it is stored for several months, the Battery Pack will gradually lose its charge. One to three
cycles of charging and discharging through normal use will restore the capacity of the Battery
Pack. During the life of the Battery Pack, the operating time between charges becomes shorter.
If the operating time becomes extremely short after a proper charge, the usable life of the Battery
Pack has been reached and it should be replaced.
WARNING! To reduce the risk of Personal Injury and Damage, never immerse your RoboLuber, Battery
Pack or Charger in Liquid or allow Liquid to flow inside them. To reduce the risk of Explosion, never Burn
a Battery Pack even if it is Damaged, Dead or completely Discharged.
CAUTION: The Battery Charger is for charging Lumax 20V Li-Ion Battery Pack. Never use it for other
purposes or for other manufacturer’s Batteries. When you charge a new Battery Pack or a Battery Pack
which has not been used for a long period of time, it may not accept a full charge. This is a normal condition
and does not indicate a problem. You can recharge the Battery Pack fully after discharging it completely
and recharging a couple of times. When you charge a Battery Pack from a just-operated tool or a Battery
Pack which has been left in a location exposed to direct sunlight or heat for a long time, let it cool off
to room temperature before charging for best results. Then re-insert it and try to charge it once more.
When you charge a new Battery Pack or a Battery Pack which has not been used for a long period,
sometimes the charging light will go out quickly. If this occurs, remove the Battery Pack and re-insert it.
If the charging light goes out within one minute even after repeating this procedure a couple of times,
the Battery Pack is “dead”. Replace it with a new one. If Battery Pack does not charge properly:
a. Check for Voltage at Outlet by plugging in some other electrical device.
b. Check to see if Outlet is connected to a light switch which turns power “off” when lights are
turned “off”.
c. Check Battery Pack terminals for dirt. Clean with cotton swab and alcohol, if necessary.
Double check to ensure that alcohol is completely evaporated before you insert the Battery
Pack into the Charger or RoboLuber.
d. If you still do not get proper charging, please call Lumax, for further assistance.
Note: Use of Chargers or Battery Packs not sold by Lumax will void the Warranty.

INSTALLING & REMOVING BATTERY PACK
TO INSTALL BATTERY PACK (LX-2182): Prior to inserting Battery Pack or operating the unit, always
check to see that the Trigger-Lock Lever is not in a “flipped-up” position. For optimum weight distribution
and balance; align Battery Pack with opening in the Grease Gun Motor Assembly Housing and insert
the Battery Pack from the back. Slide the Battery Pack into Grease Gun’s Motor Assembly Housing until
it locks in place.
TO REMOVE
BATTERY PACK
Always switch off the tool before removal of the Battery Pack (LX-2182).
Depress the Red Release Button on the Battery and Slide-out Battery Pack out of the Grease Gun.
CAUTION: To insert the Battery Pack, align the tongue on
the Motor Assembly Housing with the groove in the Battery
Pack and slide it into place. Always insert the Battery Pack
all the way until it locks in place with a little click. If not, it
may accidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury to you or
someone around you. Do not use force when inserting the
Battery Pack. If the Battery Pack does not slide in easily, it is
not being inserted correctly.

GREASE FILLING - OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The Grease Gun can use a Lubricant Cartridge or be filled with Grease from Bulk Container. Refer to
Grease Filling Instructions, below. Wipe Grease Fittings clean before Lubricating. Remove any old Grease
and/or Dirt that might get into the equipment to be Lubricated. Push Coupler onto Grease Fitting at a
slight angle (the Coupler attaches easier at a slight angle than when centered). Center Coupler on the
Grease Fitting. Operate the Trigger Switch to lubricate. After lubricating, turn the Coupler at a slight
angle to release the grip of Coupler jaws from the Grease Fitting.
A. HOW TO SUCTION LOAD YOUR GREASE GUN:
1. Unscrew the Head Assembly from the barrel of the Grease Gun.
2. Insert the open end of the barrel below the surface of the Grease
(See Figure 1).
3. Slowly pull the Plunger Rod (Follower-rod) while pushing the barrel
deeper into the Grease to prevent air pockets from being pulled into
the barrel.
4. When the rod is fully extended, lock the Plunger Rod into place with
posi-stop Plunger Lock.
5. Screw the Head Assembly onto the barrel. Tighten the Head
Assembly securely.
6. Unlock the Plunger Rod from the end cap, by releasing the
Plunger Lock. This would push the Plunger Rod into the barrel.
7. Purging the Air in Grease Chamber and Priming the Grease Gun:
Priming is the act of removing air and introducing Grease into the Grease Gun’s pumping mechanism.
When filling the Grease Gun, it is very important to prevent air pockets and to purge any air that may
be trapped in the barrel.
Caution: Air pockets in the lubricant will cause the Grease Gun to lose its prime. In most cases
the Grease Gun will prime while pressing the Air Bleeder Valve and simply pulling the Trigger Switch
several times in short bursts until trapped air is expelled. Should Grease fail to appear, the Head
Assembly must be bled. This could be done by unscrewing the Grease Gun Barrel by couple of
threads and, applying slight pressure to the “T” handle, pushing it towards the head assembly.
Pull the Trigger Switch several times in short bursts and the Grease
should now start flowing. If the
Gun is now primed then tighten the Barrel. Some Heavier Greases may
require this step of “Purging
Air” twice. Pull the Trigger Switch until Grease flows from the Coupler.
B. HOW TO LOAD YOUR GREASE GUN WITH A LUBRICANT CARTRIDGE:
1. Unscrew the Head Assembly from the barrel of the Grease Gun.
2. Pull back the Plunger Rod. When the rod is fully extended, lock the Plunger Rod into place
with posi-stop Plunger Lock.
3. Remove the plastic cap from the end of Grease Cartridge and, insert open end first, into the
barrel of Grease Gun (See Fig. 2)
4. Push the Grease Cartridge into the barrel until the rim of the pull-tab end contacts the rim of the
barrel (See Fig. 3). Then remove the pull-tab seal from the end of the Grease Cartridge (See Fig. 4).
5. Screw the head back onto the barrel. Tighten the Head Assembly securely.
6. Unlock the Plunger Rod from the end cap, by releasing the Plunger Lock. This would push the Plunger
Rod into the barrel.
