INSTRUCTION MANUAL

WARRANTY
Your Lumen is covered by a twelve-month materials and workmanship warranty. Should your Product experience full or partial loss of
functionality, you may return it to us for inspection and repair (see Return Policy).
Our technical team will perform an inspection to determine the cause of the issue. If the cause is identied as:
• A fault in materials or assembly workmanship: we will repair the product and return it to you at no extra cost.
• Damage due to user abuse, attempted modications or neglect: we will provide you with a quote for the repair and return the product to you.
DISCLAIMER
We highly discourage any attempts to open or repair the Lumen Handpan music instrument by yourself.
Doing so may result in damage to the instrument and may void the warranty.
The Lumen Handpan is a delicate musical instrument that requires expertise and experience to handle properly.
If your Lumen Handpan requires repair, please contact our customer service team for assistance.
Our team of experts will provide you with the necessary support to ensure that your instrument is repaired and maintained to the highest
standards.
Any modications or repairs attempted by an unauthorized person may cause irreparable damage to the instrument.
Please note that attempting to open or repair the Lumen Handpan by yourself will void the warranty, and any repairs or replacements required due
to self-repair attempts will be at the customer’s expense.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining the quality and integrity of the Lumen Handpan.
RETURN POLICY
When requesting a refund, or returning your Product for a warranty claim, please contact customer support and ask for a Return Merchandise
Authorisation (RMA). You may then send the Product to us for processing of your request.
You will be responsible for and must pay all shipping costs and assume the risk of loss or damage to the returned Product during transit.

FIRST USE
POWERING ON THE LUMEN
• To power on the Lumen press and hold the ring for >2 seconds
• To charge the Lumen connect the provided AC charger to the insert at the base of the instrument
• To adjust volume, dampening, tones, sounds and more see pages 5 & 6
• To connect an audio device such as speakers or headphones, insert the audio jack into the STEREO LINE OUT.

HOW TO PLAY
To activate the fundamental sound simply
strike the center of the pad:
To activate the second harmonic, hold down a
horizontal zone and strike the vertical zone. To
activate the third armonic, hold down a vertical zone
and strike the horizontal zone.

MENU STRUCTURE
On The Fly (OTF) Menu:
This menu is activated by a single short press on the ring in normal playing mode.
Subsequent clicks will scroll through each menu.
1st Click = Volume (increase/decrease)
2nd Click = Key (change)
3rd Click = Scale (change)
4th Click = Instrument (change)
5th Click = Screen Off
• Volume - allows user to change the volume of the instrument O - 100%
• Scale - allows user to select one of the stored scales within the current instrument
• Instrument - allows user to select one of the stored instruments
Setup Menu: (SCALES; OPTION; POWER OFF)
This menu is activated by a long press (> 1.5 seconds) in normal playing mode.
The scales to be edited, deleted or created will be for the currently selected instrument (selected through the OTF
menu).
SCALES allows the user to edit, delete or set up a new scale.
In the case-of editing or creating: the user uses the ring to select characters.
Once the name is completed the user scrolls all the way to the end of the ring - the word “DONE” will be displayed and the
name is saved.
EDIT: Allows the user to edit an existing custom scale. If no custom scale exists, Lumen will display “No Data!”.
CREATE: Tuning mode is now entered, and the user can assign notes to each pad.
The last note that was struck is the one that gets tuned. Tuning happens by scrolling through the ring and selecting the desired note.
At all times during tuning mode, the instrument can be played like normal.
To exit tuning mode and save the custom scale, the user gives the ring a long press and the lumen will display “Saved!”.
In all Setup and sub-menus, tapping the Ding (top sensor pad) will take the user back, and eventually out of the current menu item.

Set the Master Audio Volume. The normal OTF maximum volume will be
set to this volume.

this at full/maximum volume
Set the amount of time before the Lumen will Turn itself Off after not
being played.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Read and follow all these instructions, and heed all warnings.
• To reduce the risk of re or electric shock, do not expose this instrument to rain or moisture. The instrument should not be exposed to
dripping or splashing, and objects lled with liquids, such as vases, shall not be placed on (or even near) the instrument.
• Do not use this instrument near water – The instrument should not be used near water or moisture - for example, in a wet basement
or near a swimming pool, and the like.
• Do not block any ventilation openings.
• Do not install or use near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including ampliers) that
produce heat.
• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit
from the instrument.
• Only use attachments/accessories specied by the manufacturer.
• Unplug the instrument during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
• Refer all servicing to qualied service personnel. Servicing is required when the instrument has been damaged in any way, such as
when the power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled on the instrument, objects have fallen into the instrument, the
instrument has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
• Where the plug of the Direct Plug-in Adapter is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
• This product complies with the radio interference requirements of the European Community and Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) in the United States of America.
• Before you make or change any connections, make sure that all devices are disconnected from the power outlet.
• All cables connected to this product are required to full radio interference requirements.
For identication and supply ratings, see the type plate at the back or bottom
of the instrument.
• Before you connect the instrument to the power outlet, ensure
that the power voltage matches the value printed on the back or
bottom of the instrument. Never connect the instrument to the
power outlet if the voltage is different.
• Operating ambient temperature: 0 - 40° C
• Storage and transportation ambient temperature: -10 - 50° C
• Altitude not higher than 2000m (air pressure not less than 80kPa).
• If the instrument is transported in temperatures below 5° C, unpack
the instrument and wait until its temperature matches room temperature before
connecting it to the power outlet.
• Parts of this product can be made of glass. Handle with care to avoid injury and
damage.

WARNING
• Replacement of a battery with an incorrect type may defeat a safeguard;
• Disposal of a battery into re or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting of a battery, may result in an explosion;
• Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding environment, such as sunshine, re, or hot surface may result in an explosion
or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas;
• A battery subjected to extremely low air pressure may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
CAUTION
Risk of re or explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type!
