Before first use
Carefully unpack the waffle maker and remove all packaging
materials.
Wipe all surfaces with a slightly damp, soft cloth. Never immerse
in water.
To burn off residues on the waffle plates (6), it is necessary to
operate the unit for a few minutes before initial use. Do not add
batter or oil during this time.
Set the appliance on a dry, clean, and flat surface.
Plug appliance into 220-240V electrical outlet.
Allow the waffle maker to operate until smoke and odour
dissipate.
NOTE: Some odour may be produced during initial usage; this is
normal and it should disappear after one or two uses.
Using the waffle maker
NOTE: The waffle maker is coated with a non-stick surface. Do not
use spray-on oils, grease, or shortening, as they can cause build-up
on the waffle plates (6). Use cooking oil instead.
When using the waffle maker for the first time, it is necessary
to condition each waffle plate (6). pen waffle maker, brush the
exposed waffle plate surfaces with cooking oil and close the lid.
The waffle plates (6) may need occasional reconditioning.
Turn temperature control (3) to position 1. Plug appliance into a
suitable 220-240V electrical outlet, then press N/FF switch (4);
the power indicator (2) and pre-heat indicator (1) will illuminate.
The green pre-heat indicator (1) will turn off after a few seconds.
While preparing batter, allow appliance to pre-heat (about 3
minutes). The pre-heat indicator (1) will illuminate with 6 sounds
when the unit has reached the proper pre-heat temperature. The
unit is ready to cook waffles.
Turn temperature control (3) to desired setting between 1and 5.
(1lowest, 3medium, 5 highest).
When preparing a recipe for the first time, it may become necessary
to experiment with the temperature control (3). Begin by setting
the temperature control (3) to 3.

OPERATION GUIDE
plate, using an “X” pattern. Carefully close the lid, making sure
the upper lid is set into position. Do not force shut. Steam will be
released between the waffle plates (6). Caution should be taken to
prevent hands from coming into contact with the steam. Be careful
not to pour too much batter, as excess batter will seep out from
between the waffle plates (6).
Wait approximately 10 seconds, and then turn the unit over by
rotating the handle (5) to the right.
After about 2 minutes, turn the waffle plates (6) back over by
rotating the handle (5) to the left. Gently lift the lid by the handle (5)
to check for brownness. If the lid is difficult to lift, the waffle may
not be done. Close the lid and watch for steaming to stop before
checking again.
After the first waffle, move the temperature control (3) up or down
to achieve the desired browning of the waffle. Browning may differ
depending on the batter ingredients. Batters using sugar tend to
brown quicker.
Total cooking time should take approximately 3 to 5 minutes. Exact
cooking time will depend on your taste and the type of batter and
ingredients used. Avoid opening your waffle maker before cooking
is completed, as this may cause the waffle to stick or bake poorly.
When the waffles are cooked, remove them by using a plastic or
wooden spatula. Using plastic or wooden utensils are recommended
to keep your non-stick surface looking new. Do not use sharp
utensils, (i.e. knives, forks, etc.) This can damage the non-stick
surface.
After removing the cooked waffle, keep the waffle maker closed to
preserve the heat until ready for the next batch of waffles.
After use, turn the temperature control (3) to the lowest position
(counter-clockwise), and then immediately unplug the appliance
from the electrical outlet.
If the waffles will not be eaten immediately, place them on a paper
napkin or cooling rack to absorb condensation. To keep hot, place
in an ovenproof dish on an oven rack, and warm at about 90° to
120° C. Waffles will keep for about 20 minutes before they begin to
dry out.
CAUTION: When filling the waffle maker with batter, or when
removing a cooked waffle, be careful not to accidentally rotate the
waffle maker. To prevent it from turning, hold on to the upright
handle (5) when the waffle maker is open to secure it in place.

Hints and tips
Have all the ingredients at hand before starting cooking.
Always measure as accurately as you can, especially when cooking
with unfamiliar ingredients. Experience and personal taste will
dictate the correct proportions in future preparations.
Be cautious when omitting or substituting in recipes, as the final
taste and appearance may be affected.
Recipes using a lot of sugar will make darker waffles than those
using less sugar.
Foods which overcook easily should be removed from the waffle
maker as soon as cooking is finished.
Wipe spills promptly to make subsequent cleaning easier. Paper
towels are recommended.
Always preheat before use. Plug cord into power outlet while
preparing waffle mixture.

WARNING: Do not immerse.
It is important to clean the appliance after each use to avoid the
build-up of food or grease. This can cause food to stick to the waffle
maker.
After each use, and before cleaning, switch off the appliance,
remove plug from wall outlet, and allow waffle maker to cool down
completely.
nce cooled, wipe the inside and edges with a paper towel or soft
cloth. When they become too greasy, soak a cloth in soapy water,
wring it out, and wipe off grease. Wipe again using a damp, clean,
cloth.
Use a wooden or plastic spatula to remove food particles which are
stuck. Never use metal utensils. If any food is difficult to remove,
pour a little cooking oil onto the waffle plates and wipe off after 5
minutes when the food has softened.
For cleaning the outside of the waffle maker, use a soft cloth or a
damp sponge and a mild detergent. Ensure that no moisture, oil,
or grease enters the cooking slots.
Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring pad,
scouring cleanser, steel wool, or metallic utensils; this will damage
the finish.
Storing
Allow the appliance to cool down completely before storing.
Store the cord and plug in the cord storage.
Store the appliance in a safe and dry place when not in use.
Do not place heavy items on top of the appliance, as this may
damage the appliance.
