Placement of the BW-1
The BW-1 BassDirect speaker is specifically build to stand up against a wall.
If you have a rectangular room, our exprerience is that you get the best sound if they are placed along
the longest wall. This will give you a wider stereo image than if they are placed along the short wall.
Main Speakers
Place you main speakers the way you would place them normally. It is not nescasarry to place them close
to the BW-1s.
If applying RoomPerfect you can even place the main speakers up against the back wall.
Connecting
When connecting the BW-1s, always connect ”+” and ”-” from the amplifier to the corresponding ”+” and
”-” terminals on the BW-1 input.
Connect your speakers the same way to avoid phase errors.

Set-up of BW-1
If you connect the BW-1’s to a Lyngdorf product with DSP and/or RoomPerfect product you can set-up
the speakers really easy using the “Lyngdorf Speaker Config”. Please go to www.lyngdorf.com, choose
your Lyngdorf product and follow the installation instructions.
If you don’t have a Lyngdorf product with DSP, or choose not to use the special software to set-up the
BW-1’s, we recommend you set the cut-off frequency at around 300Hz. But depending on you spea-
kers and room, the cut-off frequency can easily vary from 200-500Hz. Try experimenting to get the best
sound.
Level
Adjust the level of the BW-1s to match the sound level of your main speakers.
If applying RoomPerfect you can set the volume of the BW-1’s a few dB to loud before mak-
ing the RoomPerfect calibration. RoomPerfect will then lower the bass to an appropriate level.
Spikes
After the initial placement of the speaker, you might consider using the supplied metal point spikes to give
them optimal support. To fix them on, we recommend that you gently lay the speaker on it’s back and screw
in all four spikes together. Before you do this, however, be sure to place a couple of thick towels or similar
underneath the side of the speaker. This will prevent accidental scratching to the surface of the speaker.
After screwing in the spikes, gently bring the speaker to its vertical position. Once upright simply adjust the
spikes to give optimal support. Using the spikes will give the very best support and sound quality. If you want
to spare your floor surface from being punctured however, you can use the supplied rubber spikes instead.
Whichever option you choose, avoid “walking” the speakers if you need to move them to a different
position… especially on hard wood floors!
RoomPerfect
If you have a Lyngdorf product with RoomPerfect you can now run the program.
Cleaning
Please use a dust-free cloth to clean the speakers. It is also possible to use a slightly damp cloth for more
stubborn marks.
Under no circumstances should you use any kind of cleaning agent on, or in close proximity to, these
speakers.
