About this guide
Before you start using the Macally MBTBUDS,
be sure to read this guide in its entirety.
Safety intructions
Thank you for purchasing the Macally MBTBUDS.
The MBTBUDS is a Bluetooth 4.1 wireless headset,
made of the finest materials, that allows you to
enjoy your favourite music and make hands-free
calls at the best audio quality and the most stable
wireless connection up to a distance of 30ft/10 m.
This headset supports aptX audio technology for
high-quality wireless audio and Cvc 6.0 noise
cancelling for a crisp and clean microphone sound.
The built-in 120 mAh rechargeable battery lasts up
to 6 hours of music play time (varies according to
audio format, volume level and other conditions), 8
hours of talk time and 150 hours of standby time. It
only needs 1-2 hours of charging time.
A very cool feature of this headset is that the
earbuds are magnetic. It allows you to magnetically
turn on/off your headset. Simply detach the
earbuds to turn the headset on and attach them to
turn it off to save battery life. Besides, when you
magnetically attach them you can keep the headset
conveniently around your neck or store it easily in a
bag or pocket
The headset has an extremely lightweight (approx.
21 g), behind-the-neck and in-ear design (3 sets of
eardbud sizes included) for maximum comfort.
Resistant to water splashes, sweat and the
occasional unexpected downpouring of rain (IPX4
waterproof), the Macally MBTBUD is ideal to listen
to music during any activity.
Please read the following carefully before using this
Macally product. Incorrect use of this product may
result in reduced performance, permanent
damage and void warranty:
1. Do not place this product near a heat source or
in a place subject to direct sunlight.
2. Operating temperature of 5°C to 40°C. Storage
temperature of 0°C to 60°C.
3. Do not place this product near moisture, liquids
or in a place subject to steam or dust.

(non-condensing)
5. Do not place heavy objects on this product.
6. Do not drop this product or expose to excessive
shock.
7. Do not dispose this product in the garbage. Take
it to your local recycling centre.
8. Using the Bluetooth device may not function on
mobile phones, depending on radio wave conditions
and location where the equipment is being used.
9. Do not listen to music at high volume levels as
this may lead to hearing problems.
10.Do not use this product while driving a car,
bicycle or any vehicle or while doing any activity in a
place where it’s important to hear ambient sound,
like intersections, railroad crossings, etc.
11.Keep out of reach of children as parts included
with this product can be a choking hazard.

1. Open the cover on the headphones to expose the
micro USB charging port.
2. Connect the Micro USB end of the USB charging
cable to the micro USB charging port.
3. Connect the USB-A end of the USB charging
cable to a USB charger (not included).
4. While charging the battery status LED will stay
solid red.
5. When fully charged the battery status LED will
turn white.
6. Unplug the USB charging cable and close the
micro USB charging port cover to protect against
dust/water.
Notes
* The headphones will automatically turn off while
charging.
** When the headphones have not been used for a
longer period of time, the battery level may
decrease and it will take longer time to charge. In
order to avoid this, we recommend to fully charge
the headphones every 6 months
1. Open Bluetooth preferences on your
smartphone, tablet or computer. Make sure
Bluetooth is On.
2. Separate the earbuds to turn on the
headphones.
3. Press and hold the Bluetooth sync button for
three to five seconds until it flashes red/white.
4. "MACALLY MBTBUDS" will show up in the list of
Bluetooth devices (this may take up to a minute).
5. Click on "MACALLY MBTBUDS". Once
“MACALLY MBTBUDS” shows “Connected” you’re
ready to go!
Note
Once paired, the headphones will automatically
turn on/connect each time the ear buds are
separated.
Swap ear buds and in-ear supports
The headphones include 3 sets of different size ear
buds and in-ear supports (S, M, L). To swap them
out, simply pull off the existing set and attach a
different size set as needed. When re-attaching the
in-ear support, make sure it sits up on the opposite
side of the cable as shown in the images below.

1. Open the cover on the headphones to expose the
micro USB charging port.
2. Connect the Micro USB end of the USB charging
cable to the micro USB charging port.
3. Connect the USB-A end of the USB charging
cable to a USB charger (not included).
4. While charging the battery status LED will stay
solid red.
5. When fully charged the battery status LED will
turn white.
6. Unplug the USB charging cable and close the
micro USB charging port cover to protect against
dust/water.
Notes
* The headphones will automatically turn off while
charging.
** When the headphones have not been used for a
longer period of time, the battery level may

order to avoid this, we recommend to fully charge
the headphones every 6 months

your sole remedy and as the manufacturer’s only obligation, Macally
will repair or replace the product. This warranty is exclusive and is
limited to the Macally MBTBUDS. This warranty shall not apply to

environmental conditions, or any condition other than what can be

of substitute products or services, or for any lost prots, or for any
consequential, incidental, direct or indirect damages, however caused

Note
*When you receive a call, music will pause
automatically. Music will resume playback when
the call has ended.
**Keep the ear buds clean. To clean them, either
use a soft dry cloth or remove them from the
headphones to clean with a mild detergent. Then,
dry them and put them back on the headphones.
To turn turn on the headphones simply separate
the ear buds and place them in your ears. To turn
them off magnetically attach the ear buds.
When the battery level is low, the battery status LED
will flash red.
When the headphones are connected to an
iPhone/iPod touch with iOS 5.0 (supports
Hands-Free Profile), you will see a
headphones/battery icon on the right top of the
screen to indicate headphones connection and
battery level status.

Le MBTBUDS est un casque à écouteurs
sans fil Bluetooth 4.1 fabriqué dans des
matériaux haut de gamme vous permettant
d’écouter votre musique favorite et de
passer des appels mains libres avec la
meilleure qualité sonore et une connexion
sans fil extrêmement stable jusqu'à une
distance de 10 m.
Ce casque supporte la technologie audio
aptX pour un son sans fil de haute qualité et
de suppression des bruits Cvc 6.0 pour un
son micro clair et net.
La batterie rechargeable intégrée de 120
mAh offre un temps d’écoute musicale
allant jusqu'à 6 heures (variable en fonction
du format audio, du niveau sonore et
d’autres conditions), une autonomie en
conversation de 8 heures et un temps en
veille de 150 heures. Il suffit d’1 à 2 heures
pour la charger.
Ce casque est caractérisé par ses écouteurs
magnétiques. Cela vous permet de mettre
