Unpacking
We recommend you take a few minutes to
read this brief manual and to be aware of
the important information regarding product
features, setup and operation.
As with most electronic devices, we strongly
recommend you retain this manual and the
original packaging. In the unlikely event the
product must be returned for servicing, the
original packaging (or reasonable equivalent)
is required.

1. Never place this product in an
environment that could affect its
performance or reduce its service life.
2. Ensure that desktop models are placed
on a stable surface that have adequate
support for the weight of the amplifier.
3. Avoid impact, extreme pressure or heavy
vibration to the case.
4. The rackmount models are designed to
fit standard 19” rackmount, and should
be fitted according to the specifications
of the cabinet/case.
5. Keep away from damp or dusty
environments. Do not use this product
near water or in wet areas.
6. Ensure adequate air-flow and do not
cover the cooling vents at the front
or rear of the amplifier, use a vacuum
cleaner to clear ventilation grilles of any
dust or debris build-ups
7. Do not install on its side or upside-down.
8. Keep out of direct sunlight and away
from heat sources.
9. Ensure adequate access to controls and
connections
10. Use mains lead provided. Check for
correct mains voltage and condition of
IEC lead before connecting to power
outlet
11. Unplug the amplifier during lightning
storms or when unused for long periods
of time.
12. Refer all servicing to qualified service
personnel. Servicing is required when
the amplifier or mains cable has been
damaged in any way.
13. Never switch on if liquid or objects have
fallen into the amplifier, or if the amplifier
has been exposed to rain or moisture.
If the amplifier has been dropped, do
not switch on, but instead contact your
supplier. Plug this amplifier into a proper
wall socket, do not modify the plug and
make the plug available for disconnection
should the need arise.

avoid injury should only be connected by
qualified personnel

earth terminal should be connected
to a mains outlet with a protective earth
connection
20. CAUTION: Do not remove the
unit’s cover as this will void the
warranty. There are no user serviceable
parts inside – refer all servicing to
qualified personnel.

Rackmount Version

Introduction
Thank you for purchasing our Magna Desktop
or Rackmount Amplifier.
These units are the first 100V line amplifiers
with their own built in MP3 recorder and alert
trigger. The PA Mixer Amplifiers are rated with
power outputs from 30W, 60W to 120W, and
are ideal for use in schools, supermarkets,
banks, background music for public areas
and general speech use. They are an all in
one solution with multiple source inputs, a
pre-amplifier and mixer power amplifier all
contained in one compact unit.
A USB port and SD card slot on the front
of the unit provide easy access for MP3 file
storage and playback. The micro USB socket
on the back of the unit is to download your
own 20 second alert message, which will
automatically play back once triggered via
the alert input contacts, for example: door
contact, timer unit or push button.
The amplifier is designed with automatic
overload protection, short circuit and high
temperature shut off to avoid any damage to
the internal circuits.
NOTE: The ‘Alert’ message is for alarm
notification purposes only, it should not be
used as an emergency evacuation notice. The
recorded message will play immediately once
the relevant contact has been triggered.
Features
• Mic 1 has a balanced XLR input (with
selectable phantom power) on the rear
panel, or 6.3mm jack managed.
• Mic 2 & 3/Line 1 & 2 are unbalanced 6.3mm
jack inputs
• Line 3 & 4 are RCA phono line inputs, and
there is one RCA phono line output.
• Alert input with MOH (Music on Hold) with
priority to mute all inputs when activated.
• Built in FM tuner and MP3 player with
remote control
• Bluetooth connectivity.
• Individual source volume control, plus
overall Bass / Treble and Master.
• Short-circuit, clip, overload and high temp
protection.
• 230V AC or 24V DC power supply.

Connection
100V Line System
Connect the rear IEC inlet to the mains using
the supplied mains lead (or an equivalent
approved type). Alternatively, the amplifier
can be powered by a 24V battery, such as a
lorry or boat battery, by connecting the “+”
and “-” of the battery to the DC24V IN on the
rear panel.
• Ensure that all DC cables are capable of
handling the required current
(10A min. recommended)
The amplifiers have a total of 4 input
channels. MIC 1 input is fed to a dedicated
microphone channel. Connect the main
announcement microphone to this channel
using a balanced XLR lead, or a good quality
6.3mm jack. Microphones or mono line inputs
connected to the MIC 2/LINE 1 and MIC 3/
LINE 2 inputs use a good quality 6.3mm jack.
Make sure the correct sensitivity is selected
for the type of input source.
Connect any other line level audio inputs to
the LINE 3 and LINE 4 connectors on the rear
panel using good quality RCA phono leads.
Since the amplifiers have a mono output,
stereo signals will be summed together.
Further mixer-amplifiers or slave amplifiers
can be connected from the rear LINE OUT
sockets, again using a good quality RCA lead.
This output carries the full mix of all channels
1 – 4 as produced through the speakers. The
terminals of a 100V speaker are connected
to a transformer and in some cases, this
transformer may be “tapped” for different
power ratings.
These tapping’s can be used to adjust the
wattage (and output volume) of each speaker
in the system to help achieve
A 100V line speaker system can comprise
of as many speakers as the amplifier can
handle. The determining factor for how many
speakers can be used on a single amplifier
is the power rating. For most purposes, it
is advised to connect as many speakers as
needed with a combined wattage of no more
than 80% of the amplifier’s output power
rating.

A 70V/100V commercial output is also
available. Please note that one wire only
should be connected to COM screw and one
wire to the selected impedance or voltage.
DANGER: Combinations of 70V, 100V
andΩcannotbeconnectedtothe
output at the same time.
Five different types of connections are
provided.Thelowimpedancesection:4Ω,
8Ω,16Ωisdesignedforasmallnumberof
speakers to be connected to your amplifier.
The 70V/100V section is especially designed
for multiple speaker distribution. When using
the 70V/100V output, the speakers used have
to be equipped with 70V/100V transformer.
The total wattage set on the secondary side
of the transformers on your speaker line must
not exceed 80% output power: 30W, 60W
or 120W. Failure to respect this may cause
permanent damage to the amplifier.
In the UK, the 100V line systems is the norm,
whilst in America the 70V line system is
preferred.
