SECURE WORK. Use clamps

a vise to hold work. It's safer than using
your hand and

frees both hands to operate tool.
DON'T OVERREACH. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
MAINTAIN TOOLS WITH CARE. Keep tools sharp and clean for better and
safer performance. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing acces-
sories. Inspecttoolcords periodicallyand if damaged, have repaired
by
autho-
rized service facility. Inspect extension cords periodically and replace
if
damaged. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.

Installingor removingbattery cartridge

Always switch off the tool before insertionor removal of

battery cartridge.

plate on the tool and grasp both
sides of the cartridge while withdrawing
it
from the barrel.

tongue on the battery cartridge with the
groove in the housing and slip
it
into
place. Snap the
set
plate back intoplace.
Be sure to close
the
set
platefully before
usingthe tool.

Ifthe cartridge does notslide ineasily,
it
is
notbeinginsertedcorrectly.
Charging
Plug
the
fast
charger into your power
source. Insert the battery cartridge
so
that
the plus and minus terminals on the bat-
tery cartridge are on the same sides
as
their
respective makrings on the fast charger.
Insert the cartridge fully into the port
so
that
it
rests on the charger portfloor.
Press the start button (red). The charging
light will come on and chargingwill begin.
If
the
charging light does not come on,
press the reset button (yellow) first, then
the start button (red). If the charginglight
goes out within
10
seconds even after pressingthe reset button and start button
a
couple
of times, the battery cartridge
is
dead. (CAUTION:
Wait
for more than
5
seconds after
the charging light
goes
out to press the reset button again.) Replace
it
with
a
new one.
When the charginglight goes out after about one hour, you may remove the fully charged
batterycartridge.
After charging, unplugthe charger from the power source.
CAUTION
:

notcharged. You will need tocharge
it
before
use.

not keep the button pressed in with tape, etc. or the circuit
will
not function pro-
perly. Also,

malfunction of the charger may result possibly causing overheating, etc.

let
the cartridge cool

while. Then re-insert

and try

charge

removed before
installingor removingthe blade.
Loosenthebladesecuringboltfullywiththe
hex
wrench.Keepthebackedgeoftheblade
against the roller and insert the blade be-
tweenthe blade clampand the slider
as
far
as
itwillgo. Makesurethatyouare inserting
the blade intothe proper position.
Fit the pin on the slider inthe hole inthe
blade shank.
Note
:
The hole in the blade shank will be aligned
with the pin on the slider when the blade
shank hits against the spring pin on the
slider.
Tighten the bolt securely while making
sure that the blade will not be extracted
even though you try topull
it
out.
CAUTION
:
If you tighten the bolt without the pin
on the slider fitting properly in the hole
in the blade shank, the pin or the blade
shank will be damaged. This may cause the
blade to be extracted unexpected

tally pulled,

lock-off lever
is
provided
as
a
safety feature.
To start the tool, slide the lock-off lever
in the direction of the arrow and pull the
trigger.

Turn the tool on and wait until the blade attains full speed. Then press the shoe against
the workpiece and apply pressure to cut the workpiece.
