Quick Start Guide
Fit the appropriate mains adaptor to
the charger (see ‘Baery Charging’
page 8).
Connect the battery charger to a
mains power socket and the Airflo 24
charging socket.
BEFORE USE
CAUTION: The Airflo 24 must be put on charge for 12 Hours before first use.
To calibrate the battery and battery indicator, it is essential before the first
use to charge for 12 hours and then disconnect from the charger and leave
for 90 minutes to allow the battery management software to correctly
calibrate. Failure to do this could lead to incorrect battery charging and
battery ladder indication.

Quick Start Guide
CHARGE THE BATTERY FOR 12 HOURS BEFORE
USE. To calibrate the battery and battery indicator, it
is essential before the first use to charge for 12 hours
and then disconnect from the charger and leave for
90 minutes to allow the battery management
software to correctly calibrate.
For the first 3 hours, the bottom light will flash
green. After 3 hours the first light will become a
steady green and the second light will start
flashing. After 6 hours the bottom 2 lights will
remain green and the third light will flash. After
9 hours the bottom 3 will remain green and the top
will be flashing. Then after 12 hours the charge is
complete and the top light will remain flashing and
other 3 will be off.

NOTE: In the case of a power cut, switching the power socket off or disconnecting the
charging lead, the charging process will not be interrupted as the unit remembers the
previous charge state.
OPERATING

The Baery Status Indicator lights serve 2 purposes:
1 - Whilst charging, the lights indicate which part of the charging cycle the battery is at.
2 - When the Battery Status Indicator Button is pressed (with the Airflo 24 removed
from

DURING A LIFT
AFTER COMPLETING A LIFT
Disconnect the inflatable unit and hand control and pack away. Turn off the compressor
and the bottom green light will go out. The product will also auto turn off after 2.5 minutes
of inactivity.
Press the Battery Status Indicator Button.

Each time the hand control is operated the unit does a battery test and indicates the
battery state. The hand control button is then released when a compartment in the lifting
device is filled.

If you see a single solid red light (if this is within a lift - the lift can be completed), the Airflo
should be put on unbroken charge immediately for a minimum of 3 hours. This will provide
sufficient capacity to complete one more lift.
Once the red light shows to achieve full capacity a full 12 hour charge is required.

Intended Use
The Airo 24 by Mangar Health is a low pressure
air compressor, which has been designed to
inate the Mangar ‘Camel’ and ‘ELK’ pneumac
liing equipment through a 4-Way pneumac
hand control. The 4-Way hand control is
supplied with the Camel and ELK.

WARNINGS
•Be sure that you have read and understood
these instructions and those provided with any
other Mangar Health product, before
operating the equipment.
•To avoid the risk of electric shock, NEVER
recharge the battery in the bathroom,
outdoors or in a damp environment.
•Always disconnect from the battery charger
before cleaning.
•Use only the supplied battery charger.
•Do not operate the Airflo 24 compressor
in the presence of flammable anaesthetic
mixtures with air, oxygen or nitrous oxide, as
these mixtures can create a combustible
environment leading to the potential for fire or
even an explosion in the presence of a spark.
•Ensure that when in use, the Airflo 24 and its
connected hoses are laid out in such a way as
to avoid any risk of tripping or strangulation.
•Ensure that children and pets do not interfere
with the safe operation of the Airflo 24 and
inflatable product.
•Keep the Airflo 24 and inflatable product away
from sources of heat.
•Disconnect the Airflo 24 compressor from the
inflatable product before transporting so as to
avoid accidental inflation.
• The Airflo 24 should only be used for its stated
purpose and should not be modified in any way.
•The optional mains power adaptor is specific
to the Airflo 24 and is the only approved unit
to be used for this purpose.
•Do not operate the compressor outside of the
specified duty cycle of 20% ‘Operating Time’
and 80% ‘Non-Operating Time’. Maximum
continuous operating time = 5 minutes.
•To calibrate the battery and battery indicator, it
is essential before the first use to charge for 12
hours and then disconnect from the charger
and leave for 90 minutes to allow the battery
management software to correctly calibrate.
Failure to do this could lead to incorrect
battery charging and battery ladder indication.
This product and associated packaging does not
contain latex.
The ELK requires assistance to help li a paent
from the oor to an elevated sing posion.
Once in a sing posion, the paent can be
transferred to a chair or helped to a standing
posion.
The Camel can be operated with or without
assistance and when inated, lis the paent
into a raised seated posion ready to stand.
No special skills or training are required to
operate the Airo 24 and its accessories.
Further guidance on operaon can be found in
the individual accessory User Instrucons.
The Airo compressor and applied parts are
intended for connual re-use as required and
no special acons or operaons are needed to
achieve this.

WARNING: The battery must be put on charge immediately as soon as the red indicator light
appears. Running the Airflo24 on RED until the battery is exhausted will damage the battery.
When the compressor is running, the baery status indicator lights will only indicate the state of
baery charge as it was at the start of the li. When the compressor stops running, the baery
status indicator will show a bottom green light (this will be red if the battery charge has become
low).
IMPORTANT: To maximize the life and lifting performance of the battery, fully recharge the
battery after use.
Fully charge the battery for a minimum of 12 hours before using the Airflo 24 for the first time
and when a new battery has been fitted. Then disconnect from the charger and leave for 90
minutes to allow the battery management software to correctly calibrate. Failure to do this
could lead to incorrect battery charging and battery ladder indication.
Power Button
When the ‘Power’ buon is pressed, the compressor will momentarily run and
then stop. The boom light on the indicator will show GREEN.

•Check the baery charger casing and lead
for signs of damage and if damaged DO NOT
USE.
•Fit the appropriate mains plug adaptor to
the baery charger (A).
•Plug the baery charger into a mains power
socket and connect the charger output lead
to the Airo 24 charging socket (B).
NOTE: When first fitting a battery they must
be charged for a minimum of 12 hours to
achieve full capacity and then disconnect from
the charger and leave for 90 minutes to allow
the battery management software to
correctly calibrate. On subsequent charges
the Airflo calculates the charging period
based on usage and will not necessarily start
on the bottom light flashing.
When the battery is charged:
•For the first 3 hours, the bottom light will
flash green. After 3 hours the first light will
become a steady green and the second light
will start flashing. After 6 hours the bottom 2
lights will remain green and the third light
will flash. After 9 hours the bottom 3 will
remain green and the top will be flashing.
Then after 12 hours all lights will briefly
become steady green.
•The compressor will move into an energy
saving mode with the top LED flashing every
6 seconds and the other 3 will be off.
NOTE: The compressor will not run whilst the charger is connected.
To maintain battery condition, it is recommended that the Airflo 24 is left continuously on charge
when not in use. The batteries cannot be overcharged using this charger.
WARNING: DO NOT recharge the batteries in a bathroom or in a damp environment.

•Connect the four hoses (A) from the
4-Way Hand Control to the corresponding
numbered and coloured connectors on the
Mangar Camel or ELK.
•Connect the hose (B) from the hand control
to the Airo 24 air outlet socket (C). The
connector will ‘click’ into place when rmly
pushed onto the socket.
•To switch on, press the ‘Power’ buon (D).
The compressor will run when a buon on
the hand control is pressed and stop when
the buon is released. An internal pressure
switch will stop the compressor running
when each corresponding secon of the
inatable product has reached full pressure.

Mains Power Adaptor (optional)
An optional mains power adaptor is available to
power the Airflo 24 directly from a mains power
socket. The adaptor is specific to the Airflo 24
and is the only approved unit to be used for
this purpose. Connect the adaptor between a
mains power socket and the adaptor inlet
socket on the end of the Airflo 24 (Fig. 2).
NOTE: This adaptor, has a non-standard output
connector and powers the Airflo 24 directly,
it will not charge the battery. The only way to
charge the battery is to use the charger which
was supplied with the Airflo 24. With the power
adaptor connected, the Airflo 24 behaves
in the same way as if it was running on the
battery, the only functional difference is
that the battery indicator will show bottom
LED orange whilst the Airflo is running. With
the adaptor connected, the Airflo 24 will
also run if there is no battery fitted.

Disconnect the Airo 24 from the baery
charger and place it in a safe and convenient
posion. NOTE: The Airo compressor should
not be placed in a posion where it is dicult
to operate the ‘Power’ buon in an emergency.

•Pressing any of the numbered hand control buttons will deliver air to the corresponding
numbered hose (follow the User Instructions for the Mangar Health product that is to be
inflated).
•To switch the Airflo 24 off after use, press the ‘Power’ button. The bottom indicator light will go
out. The pump will also automatically turn off after 2.5 minutes of inactivity.

Maintenance - g. 4
The Airo 24 has been designed to be maintenance
free and apart from replacing the baery, the Airo
contains no other user serviceable parts.
Baery replacement:
•Turn the Airo 24 onto its end containing the
air outlet socket, remove the screw (A) and
slide the end panel (B) away from the housing.
•Disconnect the wire from the battery pack
and remove the battery pack from the battery
compartment.
•Fit the replacement battery pack, ensuring that
the connector is secure, refit the end panel and
secure the screw (A).
•To calibrate the battery indicator, it is essential
before use to charge for 12 hours and then
disconnect from the charger and leave for 90
minutes to allow the battery management
software to correctly calibrate.

Disposal
When the Airo 24 has reached the end of it’s working life, remove the baery for safe disposal
in accordance with local regulaons, and dispose of the Airo 24 at your local household waste
recycling centre (civic amenity site).
Cleaning
Unless contaminaon is suspected, periodic cleaning is all that is recommended. The Airo 24
should be cleaned/disinfected as follows:
•Unplug the Airo 24 from the baery charger. Clean the external surfaces using a non abrasive
damp cloth with warm water. Wipe dry thoroughly with a dry towel before reconnecng to the
baery charger. Do not allow moisture to enter any part of the compressor.
•Do not use solvent-based products.
Disinfecng
•Pre-clean using a damp cloth and then disinfect using a hard surface alcohol impregnated wipe.
Storage
•When not in use, store in a dry place together with these instructions. To maintain the
batteries, when being stored for long periods, leave the Airflo 24 on charge.
When it becomes apparent that the Airo 24 is producing fewer than expected liing cycles, the
baery is probably reaching the end of its working life and should be replaced.
If a fault should develop or if you require assistance in seng up using or maintaining the equipment,
please contact your supplier.

Warranty
The warranty is given against defects in material and workmanship and comprises piece, parts
and labour. The warranty is not valid in the case of fair wear and tear, wilful damage, common
neglect, misuse or unauthorised alteration or repair by unqualified persons.
The following statements do not affect the consumer’s statutory rights. This product is sold
on the understanding that in the event of any defect of manufacture or material appearing
within the warranty period, the defect will be rectified free of charge providing that:

Bringen Sie den passenden
Netzsteckeradapter am Ladegerät an

Verbinden Sie das Ladegerät mit dem

VOR DER NUTZUNG
WARNUNG: Der Airflo 24 muss vor dem ersten Gebrauch 12 Stunden lang aufgeladen
werden. Um die Batterie und die Batterieanzeige zu kalibrieren, müssen Sie vor dem
ersten Gebrauch 12 Stunden lang aufladen, dann vom Ladegerät trennen und 90

AUFLADEN. Um die Batterie und die Batterieanzeige
zu kalibrieren, müssen Sie vor dem ersten Gebrauch

blinkt. Nach 12 Stunden ist der Ladevorgang
abgeschlossen. Die obere Leuchte blinkt weiter
und die anderen 3 gehen aus.
HINWEIS: Bei Stromausfall, Ausschalten der Netzsteckdose oder Trennen des Ladegeräts von der
Stromzufuhr wird der Ladevorgang nicht abgebrochen, da das Gerät sich den vorherigen Ladezustand
merkt.

Die Akkuladestandsanzeige hat 2 Aufgaben:
1 - Während des Ladevorgangs zeigen die Leuchten an, wie weit der Ladezyklus des Akkus
bereits fortgeschrien ist.
2 - Wenn der Airo 24 vom Ladegerät getrennt ist, zeigt die Akkuladestandsanzeige nach Druck
auf die entsprechende Taste den aktuellen Ladestand des Akkus an.

GENOMMEN WERDEN. BETÄTIGEN SIE ANSCHLIESSEND DIE TASTE
„AKKULADESTANDSANZEIGE“, UM DIE KONTROLLLEUCHTEN DER
AKKULADESTANDSANZEIGE ZU AKTIVIEREN
Wird die Taste „Akkuladestandsanzeige“ sofort nach Abziehen des
Ladegeräts gedrückt, leuchten möglicherweise die vier Leuchten grün.
Dies liegt daran, dass am Akku immer noch die Ladespannung vorliegt,
die höher als die Ruhespannung des Akkus ist.
Kurz darauf wechselt die Akkuspannung in die Ruhespannung. Zu diesem
Zeitpunkt leuchten bei einem Akkutest unter Umständen drei oder zwei
Leuchten grün. Dies ist abhängig vom jeweiligen Akkustand.

Trennen Sie das aufblasbare Produkt und die Handbedienung voneinander und verstauen Sie

Wenn während eines Anhebevorgangs eine einzelne Leuchte rot leuchtet, kann der Vorgang
noch beendet werden. Allerdings sollte der Airflo danach sofort mindestens 3 Stunden lang
ununterbrochen aufgeladen werden. Danach hat er wieder ausreichende Kapazitäten für
einen weiteren Anhebevorgang.

Verwendungszweck
Der Airflo 24 von Mangar Health ist ein
Niederdruck-Luftkompressor, der zum
Aufblasen der pneumatischen Hebehilfen
„Camel“ und „ELK“ von Mangar Health mittels
einer pneumatischen 4-Wege-Handbedienung
konzipiert wurde. Die 4-Wege-Handbedienung ist
im Lieferumfang von Camel bzw. ELK
enthalten.
Mit dem Airflo 24 verwendbare Produkte
(Zubehör):
Mangar ELK (Notfall-Hebekissen)
Mangar Camel (Notfall-Hebekissen)
Beim ELK wird ein Helfer benötigt, der
dem Patienten vom Boden in eine erhöhte
Sitzposition aufhilft. Aus dem Sitzen kann der
Patient dann auf einen Stuhl transferiert oder in
den Stand gebracht werden.
Das Camel kann mit und ohne Unterstützung
bedient werden. Während des Aufpumpvorgangs
wird der Patient in eine erhöhte Sitzposition
gebracht, aus der er aufstehen kann.
Zur Bedienung des Airflo 24 und seines
Zubehörs sind keine besonderen Kenntnisse
oder Schulungen erforderlich.
Weitere Orientierungshilfen zum Betrieb
sind der Bedienungsanleitung des jeweiligen
Zubehörs zu entnehmen.
Airflo 24 und Zubehör sind für den wiederholten
Gebrauch nach Bedarf vorgesehen. Dazu
sind keine besonderen Maßnahmen oder
Vorgehensweisen erforderlich.

WARNHINWEISE
•Bitte vergewissern Sie sich, dass Sie
diese Bedienungsanleitung und die
Bedienungsanleitungen zu anderen verwendeten
Produkten von Mangar International vollständig
gelesen und verstanden haben, bevor Sie die
Hebehilfen in Betrieb nehmen.
•Um die Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlags
zu vermeiden, laden Sie den Akku NIE im
Badezimmer, im Freien oder in einer feuchten
Umgebung auf.
•Trennen Sie den Akku vor der Reinigung stets vom
Ladegerät.
•Verwenden Sie zum Aufladen ausschließlich das
mitgelieferte Ladegerät.
Verwenden Sie den Airflo 24 Kompressor nicht in
Gegenwart von brennbaren Anästhetikagemischen
mit Luft, Sauerstoff oder Distickstoffoxid, da diese
Gemische leicht entflammbar sind und zu
Brandgefahr oder auch Explosionsgefahr durch
Funkenflug führen können.
•Achten Sie darauf, dass bei Verwendung des Airflo
24 Kompressors der Kompressor selbst und der
angeschlossene Schlauch so platziert werden, dass
keine Stolper- oder Strangulationsgefahr besteht.
•Stellen Sie sicher, dass Kinder oder Haustiere nicht
den sicheren Betrieb des Airflo 24 und des
aufblasbaren Produkts behindern.
•Halten Sie den Airflo 24 und das aufblasbare
Produkt von Wärmequellen fern.
•Trennen Sie den Airflo 24 Kompressor vor dem
Transport vom aufblasbaren Produkt, um ein
versehentliches Aufpumpen des Produkts zu
vermeiden.
•Der Airflo 24 darf nur zum angegebenen
Verwendungszweck verwendet und in keiner Weise
modifiziert werden.
•Der optionale Netzstromadapter wurde speziell für
den Airflo 24 entwickelt und ist der einzige für diese
Anwendung zugelassene Adapter.
•Den Kompressor nicht außerhalb des angegebenen
Arbeitszyklus von 20 % „Betriebsdauer“ und 80 %
„Ruhezeit“ betreiben. Maximale ununterbrochene
Betriebsdauer = 5 Minuten.
•Um die Batterie und die Batterieanzeige zu
kalibrieren, müssen Sie vor dem ersten Gebrauch 12
Stunden lang aufladen, dann vom Ladegerät
trennen und 90 Minuten warten, damit die
Batteriemanagementsoftware korrekt kalibrieren
kann. Andernfalls kann es zu einer falschen
Batterieladung und Anzeige der Batterieleiter
kommen.

Kontrollleuchte für Akkuladestand
Wenn die Ein/Aus-Taste gedrückt wird, läu der Kompressor für einen Moment
und stoppt dann. Die unterste Kontrollleuchte der Anzeige leuchtet GRÜN.
HINWEIS: Der Akku muss sofort aufgeladen werden, wenn die Kontrollleuchte rot aufleuchtet.
Der Betrieb des Airflo 24 bei ROTER Kontrollleuchte bis zur völligen Entladung des Akkus hat
Schäden am Akku zur Folge.
Wenn der Kompressor läu, zeigt d ie Akkuladestandsanzeige n ur d en Akkuladestand zu Beginn
des Hebevorgangs an. Wenn der Kompressor stoppt, leuchtet die unterste Kontrollleuchte für
den Akkuladestand grün (bzw. rot, wenn der Akkuladestand nun gering ist). Um den tatsächlichen
Akkuladestand zu ermieln, drücken S ie d ie Taste „Akkuladestandsanzeige“; d ann zeigen die
Kontrollleuchten den aktuellen Akkuladestand an.
WICHTIG: Zur Ausschöpfung der maximalen Nutzdauer und Hebeleistung des Akkus laden Sie
den Akku nach Gebrauch vollständig auf.
Laden Sie den Akku mindestens 12 Stunden lang vollständig auf, bevor Sie den Airflo 24 zum
ersten Mal verwenden und wenn ein neuer Akku eingelegt wurde. Trennen Sie dann das
Ladegerät vom Gerät und lassen Sie es 90 Minuten lang stehen, damit die
Batteriemanagementsoftware korrekt kalibrieren kann. Andernfalls kann es zu einer falschen
Batterieladung und Anzeige der Batterieleiter kommen.

Wenn die Taste „Akkuladestandsanzeige“ gedrückt wird, zeigen die Leuchten an,
wie hoch der Ladestand des Akkus noch ist.

•Prüfen Sie Akkugehäuse und Kabel auf
Anzeichen von Schäden und VERWENDEN
SIE sie bei Beschädigung NICHT.
•Bringen Sie den passenden
Netzsteckeradapter am Ladegerät an (A).
•Verbinden Sie das Ladegerät mit einer
Netzsteckdose und stecken Sie den Stecker
des Ladegeräts in die Ladebuchse des Airflo 24
(B).
HINWEIS: Die Akkus müssen mindestens
12 Stunden lang aufgeladen werden, damit sie
ihre volle Kapazität erreichen. Bei allen weiteren
Ladevorgängen berechnet der Airflo die
erforderliche Ladedauer anhand der bisherigen
Nutzung und eine Leuchte blinkt (nicht
unbedingt die unterste).
Während des Auadens des Akkus:
Airo 24
•In den ersten 3 Stunden blinkt die unterste
Leuchte grün. Nach 3 Stunden hört die
erste Leuchte auf zu blinken und beginnt
grün zu leuchten und die zweite Leuchte
beginnt zu blinken. Nach 6 Stunden
leuchten die beiden untersten Leuchten
grün und die dritte Leuchte blinkt. Nach 9
Stunden leuchten die 3 unteren Leuchten
grün und die oberste Leuchte blinkt. Nach
12 Stunden leuchten schließlich alle
Leuchten grün.
•Der Kompressor schaltet in einen Energiesparmodus, wobei die oberste LED alle 6 Sekunden
blinkt, während die anderen drei LEDs nicht leuchten.
HINWEIS: Der Kompressor läuft nicht, solange das Ladegerät angeschlossen ist.
Um die Akkus in gutem Zustand zu halten, wird empfohlen, den Airflo 24 bei Nichtgebrauch
ständig am Ladegerät zu lassen. Die Akkus können mit diesem Ladegerät nicht überladen werden.
WARNUNG: Laden Sie die Akkus NICHT im Badezimmer oder in einer feuchten Umgebung auf.
Um das Ladegerät vom Netzstrom zu trennen, ziehen Sie das Ladegerätekabel aus der
Netzsteckdose.
