SA-14 Super Audio CD Player is based upon the Direct Stream Digital
(DSD) information storage format. DSD ensures the highest quality in

Uncompromising Construction and Design
The Marantz SA-14 Super Audio CD Player utilizes solid alloy
construction and a double layer steel bottom plate to dampen
internal vibration and mechanically induced jitter. Along with alloy
chassis panels and special shock-absorbent mounting feet, it
achieves ultra-stable playback for a high-end performance.
Internally, the SA-14 shines with extensive use of copper-
shielding, bracing and a full floating laser mechanism with a die
cast metal alloy housing and disc tray. It’s precision-disc
mechanism provides stable, glitch-free playback along with fast
disc access. The impressive front panel is ergonomically designed
with a distinctive round center window display, which can be
turned on/off depending on personal preference.
Audiophile-Grade Components
Built to the highest standards, the SA-14 features extensive use of
unique hand-selected internal components, like dual Crystal®
semiconductor D/A converters, premium capacitors and a copper
shielded super-ring toroidal main power transformer. The front
panel FL display utilizes its own separate power transformer to
totally isolate noise from the SA-14’s internal circuitry.
Direct Stream Digital (DSD)
The SA-14 SACD player employs DSD technology to achieve an
astonishing level of sonic accuracy. DSD ensures the highest
quality in digital to analog conversion. The digital information is
directly converted to analog information, without interference of
digital filtering. It maximizes the benefits of two-channel ultra-
high resolution SACD digital audio. With a sampling rate of 2.8224
mHz, the SACD format can deliver a frequency response from DC
to 100,000 Hz and a dynamic range of 113 dB.
High Definition Amplifier Module (HDAM)
Uniquely developed by Marantz, the SA-14 houses two copper-
shielded, fully discrete HDAM output stages with low noise
independent components and short signal paths. Placed in a dual-
differential configuration, they result in an extremely fast slew rate
and exceptional dynamic range. They preserve the dynamic
structure of music so that even vulnerable high frequencies are
translated accurately, creating and an effortlessly dynamic sound
that's both expressive and detailed.
Convenience
Together with a full-function brushed aluminum remote control,
this state-of-the-art Marantz product comes with a number of
sensible convenience features like programming, play modes and
SACD/CD/CD-R/CD-RW/DTS Audio playback. The SA-14 is
equipped with balanced (XLR) outputs to reduce the risk of
disturbance in the signal transportation from source to
amplification (if connected to balanced inputs). Furthermore,
optical and digital outputs are included for flexible playback and
recording ability.
