Jack of All Trades
DVD-A or SACD that's the question? With the new Marantz DV8300, it
doesn’t have to be - it plays them all! DVD-Audio, SACD, both
two/multi-channel, MP3, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, Video CD and of course
DVD-Video. The DV8300 is designed not only to play them, but to
deliver the decoded audio and video as close to the original signal as
possible. With 108 MHz, 12-bit video DACs and 4:4:4 upsampling of
the video signal, all of your audio video needs are realized.
Uncompromising Audio
The DV8300 will playback both DVD-Audio and SACD in either two
channel or multi channel configurations. To assure the best
reproduction, Marantz audio
engineers have designed a separate
power supply with custom wiring just
for the audio circuit. Instead of the
usual IC op-amp output stages
commonly found in lesser players, the
DV8300 has three discrete copper
shielded Dual HDAM output stages
for fast slew rate and wide dynamic
range. This assures the widest and
deepest soundstaging and extremely
low background noise. In addition,
the chassis is fully shielded from both
internal and external RF and EMI, for more accurate reproduction of
the audio signal. In addition full bass management capabilities are
included for multi-channel sources, as well as the ability to disable the
entire OSD and video circuits for pure audio usage.
Pristine Video
In keeping with the Marantz tradition of accurate reproduction, the
video section of the DV8300 was designed for the uncompromising
enthusiast. The progressive output has 3:2 and 2:2 pulldown for
judder free playback of both video and film based sources. The digital
data from the DVD is upsampled to full resolution 4:4:4, with
information in both of the color carriers equal to the information in
the luminance channel, as opposed to the 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 processing of
other players. The data is then converted to analog using an extremely
advanced 8 times oversampling (108 MHz), 12-bit video digital-to-
analog converter (DAC) for reduced digital artifacting and lower video
noise. The DV8300 also has the ability to fine tune the video signal for
perfect matching to the characteristics of your display device. The
process is extensive and sophisticated and earns the highly acclaimed
THX certification for DVD.
Convenience
In addition to the ability to play virtually every “silver disc” format ever
invented, the DV8300 comes with a full function 45 button remote
control, including a complete set of discrete IR commands designed
specifically for whole house custom automation. Other convenience
features include OSD, parental control, and RC-5 input and output
