Getting Started
WhenconnectingyourHTTdisplay,powermustfirstbeappliedthroughthebarreljackoroptional
MicroMateN’Lockheader.Oncepowered,connecttheHTTtoyoursourceHDMIcable.
Windows
WhenconnectedtoWindows,theHTT’sresolutionwillbeautomaticallydetectedandsetthroughthe
on‐boardEDID.TheHTTdisplayshouldimmediatelyappearindisplaysettings.Noadditionalsoftware
setupwillberequired.
Raspberry Pi
SomesetupwillberequiredbeforethedisplaycanbeusedwithaRaspberryPiunit.TheHDMI
resolutionwillhavetobeconfiguredthroughtheconfig.txtfile(locatedin/boot/config.txt).
ThefollowingmodificationscanbemadetotheRaspberryPi’sconfig.txtfile,forcingtheHTT’s

beconnectedinorderforthetouchpaneltooperateproperly.OncetheHTT50hasbeenconnected
properlyandthetouchscreenisrecognized,theHTTwillusethehostdevice’sbuilt‐intouchdrivers.
ThisallowstheHTT50totakeadvantageofthehostdevice’stouchdriverandpre‐installedtouch
gestures.

Troubleshooting
Power
Tofunctioncorrectly,theHTT50mustbesuppliedwiththeappropriatepower.IfthepowerLEDnear
thetoprightcorneroftheboardisnotilluminated,powerisnotappliedcorrectly.Trythetipsbelow.
HTTdeviceshavespecificpowerrequirements.Ensurethecorrectvoltageandsufficient
currentareavailabletoyourdevicebyconsultingthePowertable.
Checkthepowercablethatyouareusingforcontinuity.Ifyoudon'thaveanohmmeter,try
usingadifferentpowercable;ifthisdoesnothelptryadifferentpowersupply.
Checkthepowerconnectorinuseonyourdisplay.Iftheconnectorhasbecomelooseor
youareunabletoresolvetheissue,pleaseusetheContactsectiontoreachafriendlyMatrix
Orbitalsupportrepresentative.
Display
IfyourdisplayispoweredsuccessfullyandconnectedtoanHDMIsource,thevideofeedshouldappear
onscreenimmediately.Thevideosignalshouldbeclean,andthepictureshouldfittheviewingareaof
thedisplay.Ifthisisnotthecase,checkoutthesetips.
Ifyouareconnectedtoasingleboardcomputer,suchasaRaspberryPi,andyourscreen
displaysawhitescreenonstart‐up,orslowlyfadetowhite,pleasechecktheConfig.txtfile
toensurethatthedisplayisproperlyconfigured.
Ifthedisplayisflickering,orifthedisplay’sbacklightisnotconsistent,trysupplying
additionalpowerthroughthedisplay’sbarreljack.
Ifyourdisplayshowspicturebuttherearewhitelinesalongtheedge(s)ofthedisplay,your
displaymaybereceivingtheincorrectnumberofpixels.TheHTTdoesnothavearesolution
scaler,andthereforetheappropriate800x480resolutionmustbespecifiedforallthepixels
tobeused.

Multi-touch Firmware
Newfirmwarerevisionsareavailablefordownloadonmatrixorbital.com.Onceinstalled,theHTT50’s
touchpanelwillberecognizedasanHID‐CompliantTouchscreen,allowingthedisplaytotake
advantageofanytouchgesturesbuiltintothehost’stouchdriver.Gesturessuchasonefingerscroll
andonefingerswipearecommonlyavailableonmostpopularhosts.Multi‐touchgesturessuchas
pinchtozoomareavailableforcapacitivetouchpanels.
HTT Utility Program
TheHTTUtilityprogramiscompatiblewiththeresistiveandcapacitiveHTTdisplayvariantsandgrants
usersfullcontroloftheirdisplays.Throughthisprogram,userswillbeabletochangeHTTconfiguration
settingssuchasthetouchpanel’ssoftwareorientation,touchscreencalibration,touchsensitivity
(capacitivetouchpanelonly),backlightbrightnessandmore.
