REMOVE DRIVER’S SCUFF PLATE AND LEFT KICK PANEL
1. USING A FIBER STICK, REMOVE THE DRIVER’S SIDE SCUFF PLATE. THE SCUFF
PLATE IS HELD BY (3) CLIPS. (FIGURE B)
2. REMOVE THE DRIVER’S SIDE KICK PANEL BY REMOVING THE PLASTIC NUT.
(FIGURE C) PARTIALLY PEEL BACK THE RUBBER WEATHERSTRIP AWAY FROM THE
KICK PANEL. INSERT A FIBER STICK BETWEEN THE BODY AND KICK PANEL TO
DISENGAGE THE RETAINING CLIP. GENTLY PULL THE KICK PANEL TOWARD THE
CENTER OF THE VEHICLE TO REMOVE.

DISCONNECT THE BATTERY
1. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE.

CAUTION: DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN COVERED NUT.
1. LOCATE THE PREVIOUSLY REMOVED DRIVER’S KICK PANEL.
2. CENTER PUNCH THE DRIVER’S KICK PANEL, EXACTLY 12 mm DOWN FROM
THE TOP AND 95 mm LEFT OF THE FAR EDGE. (FIGURE D)
3. CAREFULLY DRILL A 9/32” DIAMETER HOLE AT THE CENTER PUNCHED
LOCATION.
4. DISCONNECT THE EMERGENCY OVERRIDE BUTTON FROM THE SECURITY
HARNESS BY UNPLUGGING THE TWO 2-PIN WHITE CONNECTORS.
5. REMOVE THE COVERED NUT AND LOCK WASHER FROM THE EMERGENCY
OVERRIDE BUTTON AND INSERT THE BUTTON THROUGH THE DRILLED HOLE
FROM THE BACK SIDE OF THE DRIVER’S SIDE KICK PANEL.
NOTE: DISCARD THE LOCK WASHER, IT IS NOT USED ON THIS MODEL.
6. REPLACE THE LOCK COVERED NUT AND CAREFULLY TIGHTEN BY HAND.

REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVERS
1. REMOVE THE (3) PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS FROM THE LOWER STEERING COLUMN
COVER. (FIGURE E)
2. INSERT A FIBER STICK BETWEEN THE COMBINATION SWITCH AND THE LOWER
COVER. GENTLY ROTATE THE FIBER STICK UNTIL THE TOP AND BOTTOM COVERS
SEPERATE. (FIGURE E)
3. IF EQUIPPED, GENTLY UNCLIP THE IGNITION KEY LIGHT AND REMOVE BOTH
TOP AND BOTTOM COVERS AND SET ASIDE WHERE THEY CANNOT BE
DAMAGED.

2. REMOVE THE BLACK LOWER DASH PANEL BY DISENGAGING THE
SINGLE CLIP LOCATED AT THE FRONT, CENTER OF THE PANEL.

1. LOCATE THE PREVIOUSLY REMOVED UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER. (FIGURE F)
2. CENTER PUNCH THE AREA NEAR THE COMBINATION SWITCH OF THE UPPER STEERING
COLUMN COVER 15 mm FROM INSIDE EDGE OF THE COMBINATION SWITCH OPENING
AND 15 mm FROM THE BOTTOM EDGE OF THE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER.

3. CAREFULLY DRILL A 9/32” DIAMETER HOLE IN THE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER
AT THE CENTER PUNCHED LOCATION.
CAUTION: BE SURE NOT TO DRILL THE HOLE OVERSIZED.
4. PASS THE LED CONNECTOR AND WIRES THROUGH THE DRILLED HOLE FROM THE
FRONT SIDE OF UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER. PRESS THE LED INTO THE HOLE
FIRMLY UNTIL FULLY SEATED.
5. POSITION UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER IN FACTORY MOUNTING LOCATION.
DO NOT REINSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER AT THIS TIME.

Wire Ties x 3
1. LOCATE THE 24-PIN CONNECTOR ON THE SECURITY SYSTEM HARNESS
AND ATTACH IT TO THE MATING 24-PIN CONNECTOR ON THE SECURITY
SYSTEM MODULE.
2. LOCATE THE 5-PIN CONNECTOR ON THE SHOCK SENSOR HARNESS
AND ATTACH IT TO THE MATING 5-PIN CONNECTOR ON THE SECURITY
SYSTEM MODULE.
NOTE: BE SURE TO ENGAGE THE 5-PIN CONNECTOR FROM THE SHOCK
SENSOR HARNESS TO THE SECURITY MODULE, NOT THE 4-PIN
CONNECTOR.
3. POSITION THE SECURITY MODULE ABOVE THE MAIN HARNESS RUNNING
ABOVE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE, IN THE LEFT KICK PANEL AREA.

4. USING (3) OF THE SUPPLIED WIRE TIES, SECURE THE SECURITY
MODULE TO THE MAIN HARNESS USING THE EYELETS ON EACH SIDE
OF THE SECURITY MODULE.
5. BE SURE WIRE TIES ARE TIGHTENED COMPLETELY, THEN TRIM OFF
EXCESS.
1. LOCATE THE 10 MM FACTORY BOLT, MOUNTED HIGH UP UNDER
THE DASH, NEAR THE VEHICLE DASHWALL, SUPPORTING THE
FACTORY “UNIT - LIGHT AUTO OFF” MODULE. (FIGURE J)
2. USING A 10 MM SOCKET AND RATCHET, REMOVE THE 10 MM BOLT.
3. USING THE 10 MM BOLT JUST REMOVED, SECURE THE REMOTE START
HARNESS BLACK GROUND WIRE WITH RINGLET AND TIGHTEN
WITH A 10 MM SOCKET AND RATCHET.
NOTE: USING A 1/4” DRIVE TORQUE WRENCH, MAKE SURE THAT
THE 10 MM GROUND BOLT IS SECURELY TIGHTENED TO
78-121 INCH/POUNDS.

1. POSITION THE SHOCK SENSOR MODULE ON THE VEHICLE HARNESS

2. ATTACH A SUPPLIED, SHORT WIRE TIE THROUGH THE TOP MOUNTING
HOLE IN THE SHOCK SENSOR MODULE AND AROUND THE MAIN
HARNESS.

4. BE SURE BOTH WIRE TIES ARE TIGHTENED COMPLETELY, THEN TRIM

AND ATTACH IT TO THE MATING 4-PIN CONNECTOR ON THE SHOCK
SENSOR MODULE.

10 IGNITION SWITCH CONNECTIONS
1. ROUTE THE SECURITY HARNESS WITH 6-PIN MALE AND FEMALE
IGNITION CONNECTORS WITH RED SECONDARY LOCK ALONG THE
LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING COLUMN.
2. LOCATE THE 6-PIN WHITE IGNITION CONNECTOR, ON THE LEFT SIDE
OF THE STEERING COLUMN.
3. RELEASE THE RED SECONDARY LOCK AND DISCONNECT THE 6-PIN
WHITE IGNITION CONNECTOR BY PULLING OUTWARD. ( CAUTION:
DO NOT PULL ON WIRES TO DISCONNECT CONNECTOR.)
4. PLUG THE SECURITY HARNESS 6-PIN FEMALE CONNECTOR INTO
THE FACTORY IGNITION SWITCH AND ENGAGE THE RED SECONDARY
LOCK. (FIGURE K)
5. CONNECT THE SECURITY HARNESS 6-PIN MALE CONNECTOR INTO
THE FACTORY IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS CONNECTOR AND

SYSTEM POWER-UP
1. VERIFY THAT ALL CONNECTIONS ARE SECURE AS PER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
NOTE: BE SURE THE ROOM FUSE IS INSTALLED IN THE FUSE PANEL.
2. RECONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL.
3. IF THE HORN IS BEEPING AND THE PARKING LIGHTS FLASHING, TURN THE IGNITION TO THE ON POSITION AND PRESS THE EMERGENCY
OVERRIDE BUTTON LOCATED ON THE DRIVER’S KICK PANEL TO DISARM THE SYSTEM.
4. ENSURE THE IGNITION IS IN THE OFF POSITION BEFORE PROCEDING TO THE FUNCTION TEST.

CONNECT THE EMERGENCY OVERRIDE BUTTON AND REPLACE DRIVER’S KICK PANEL
1. LOCATE THE 2-PIN WHITE CONNECTOR ON THE SECURITY HARNESS.
2. LOCATE THE 2-PIN WHITE CONNECTOR FROM THE EMERGENCY OVERRIDE
BUTTON, WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY MOUNTED IN THE DRIVER’S KICK
PANEL, AND PLUG IT INTO THE 2-PIN WHITE CONNECTOR FROM THE
SECURITY HARNESS. (FIGURE U)
3. RE-INSTALL THE DRIVER’S KICK PANEL BY ENGAGING THE RETAINING
CLIP ON THE PANEL. RE-INSTALL THE PLASTIC RETAINER AND REPLACE
THE WEATHERSTRIP. (FIGURE V)

c. THE RED LED STATUS INDICATOR BEGINS BLINKING (@ 1 BLINK PER SECOND).
2. MANUALLY UNLOCK AND OPEN THE DRIVER’S DOOR.
a. THE HORN BEEPS ON AND OFF.
b. THE PARKING LIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF.
c. THE RED LED FLASHES (3) TIMES...PAUSE AND REPEATS CONTINUALLY.
3. PRESS THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER TO DISARM THE SECURITY SYSTEM.
a. THE HORN BEEPS (4) TIMES.
b. THE PARKING LIGHTS FLASH (4) TIMES.
c. THE RED LED FLASHES (3) TIMES...PAUSE AND REPEATS CONTINUALLY.
4. TURN THE IGNITION TO THE RUN POSITION, THEN BACK TO THE OFF POSITION. REMOVE THE KEY, IF APPLICABLE.
a. THE RED LED TURNS OFF.
5. CLOSE ALL DOORS, THEN LOCK THE DOORS USING THE DRIVER’S SIDE DOOR KEY CYLINDER TO ARM THE SECURITY SYSTEM.
a. THE HORN BEEPS (1) TIME.
b. THE PARKING LIGHTS FLASH (1) TIME.
c. THE RED LED STATUS INDICATOR BEGINS BLINKING (@ 1 BLINK PER SECOND).
6. USE THE DRIVER’S DOOR KEY CYLINDER TO UNLOCK THE DRIVER’S DOOR.
a. THE HORN BEEPS (2) TIMES.
b. THE PARKING LIGHTS FLASH (2) TIMES.
c. THE RED LED STATUS INDICATOR TURNS OFF.

9. ATTEMPT TO START THE VEHICLE BY TURNING THE IGNITION TO THE START POSITION.
a. THE STARTER WILL NOT ENGAGE.
10. TURN THE IGNITION TO THE RUN POSITION, PRESS THE EMERGENCY OVERRIDE BUTTON AND RE-ATTEMPT TO START THE VEHICLE.
a. THE SECURITY SYSTEM DISARMS AND THE VEHICLE STARTS.
11. TURN THE IGNITION TO THE OFF POSITION AND PRESS THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER TO ARM THE SECURITY
SYSTEM.
a. THE HORN BEEPS (3) TIMES.
b. THE PARKING LIGHTS FLASH (3) TIME.
c. THE RED LED STATUS INDICATOR BEGINS BLINKING (3 BLINKS IN A ROW).
12. MANUALLY UNLOCK AND OPEN THE PASSENGER’S DOOR.

b. THE PARKING LIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF.

1. PLUG THE IGNITION KEY LIGHT, IF EQUIPPED, BACK INTO THE LOWER STEERING
COLUMN COVER AND CAREFULLY SNAP THE STEERING COLUMN COVER
HALVES BACK TOGETHER. (FIGURE Y)
2. RE-INSTALL THE (3) PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS. VERIFY OPERATION OF THE TILT
STEERING WHEEL. (FIGURE Y)

FINALIZING THE INSTALLATION
1. PLACE THE SYSTEM OWNER’S MANUAL AND WALLET CARDS INTO THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT.
2. APPLY THE WINDOW WARNING DECALS TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS. WITH EACH WINDOW FULLY CLOSED, POSITION
THE DECAL ON THE INSIDE GLASS SURFACE, APPROXIMATELY 1” ABOVE THE WINDOW DOOR SEAL AND 3” FORWARD OF THE TRAILING
EDGE OF THE WINDOW. BE CAREFUL HANDLING THE DECALS TO AVOID CONTACT WITH THE ADHESIVE SIDE OF THE DECAL, AS THIS WILL
LEAVE A PERMANENT FIGERPRINT BETWEEN THE DECAL AND GLASS PANEL.
3. NOTE: AFTER REASSEMBLING THE VEHICLE PARTS, CHECK FOR ANY DIRT. CLEAN ANY DIRTY PARTS.
4. NOTE: AFTER COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION, REFER TO THE VEHICLE OWNER’S MANUAL FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO RESET THE
CLOCK AND PRESET RADIO STATIONS.
5. CAUTION: DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY MAY CAUSE THE DSC INDICATOR LIGHT TO BECOME INOPERABLE. (THE DSC OFF INDICATOR
LIGHT FLASHES AND THE TCS/DSC INDICATOR LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED.)
PERFORM THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE TO RESTORE THE DSC TO AN OPERABLE CONDITION, IF APPLICABLE:
a. START THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY.
b. TURN THE STEERING WHEEL COMPLETELY TO THE RIGHT AND THEN COMPLETELY TO THE LEFT.
c. VERIFY THAT THE DSC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT TURNS OFF.
d. TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO THE OFF POSITION AND THEN TURN IT TO THE ON POSITION AGAIN.
e. VERIFY THAT THE TCS/DSC INDICATOR LIGHT TURNS OFF.
6. CAUTION: WHEN THE BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED, THE WINDOWS MAY NOT FULLY OPEN AND CLOSE AUTOMATICALLY.
PERFORM THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER FRONT WINDOWS TO RESUME OPERATION, IF APPLICABLE:
a. TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO THE ON POSITION.
b. PRESS DOWN THE WINDOW SWITCH ON THE FRONT PASSENGER’S SIDE DOOR PANEL AND FULLY OPEN THE WINDOW.
c. PULL UP THE WINDOW SWITCH ON THE FRONT PASSENGER’S SIDE DOOR PANEL AND CONTINUE HOLDING FOR APPROXIMATELY 3
SECONDS TO FULLY CLOSE THE WINDOW.
d. PRESS DOWN BOTH FRONT WINDOW SWITCHES ON THE DRIVER’S DOOR PANEL AND FULLY OPEN THE WINDOWS.
e. PULL UP BOTH FRONT WINDOW SWITCHES ON THE DRIVER’S DOOR PANEL AND CONTINUE HOLDING FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 SECONDS
TO FULLY CLOSE THE WINDOWS.
f. TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO THE OFF POSITION.
