TheMcIntoshModelMC-30isa 30watthighfidelitypoweramplifierdesignedforhomeen-
tertainmentsystemsandprofessionalapplications.TheModelMC-30issimilartotheearlier
McIntoshModelA-11630wattamplifiersandincludesalloftherigidelectricalspecifications
andfeaturesfoundintheseearlierunitsplus:lessthan1/3%harmonicdistortionatanypower
outputupto30wattsandatanyfrequencyintheaudiospectrum,20to20,000cps;lessthan
1/2%intermodulationdistortionifinstantaneouspeakpowerisbelow60wattsforanycombin-
ationoffrequencies20to20,000cps;andnoiseandhumlevel90dbormorebelowratedoutput.
ThefamousMcIntoshhighefficiencyoutputcircuitisusedtoobtainthehighstandardofper-
formancefoundinthisamplifier.
TheMC-30maybeoperatedfromanysignalsourcedelivering0.5 ormorevolts,ordirectly
froma McIntoshAudioCompensatororPre-Amplifier,suchastheModelsC-8,C-4,C-104,
orC-108.Outputimpedancesof4,8 and16ohmsareprovidedfordirectconnectiontoloud-
speakers.Additionaloutputsfor166ohms(70.7volts)and600ohmsareprovidedforusewith
multiplespeakersystems,lines,etc.
INSTALLATION
Location
TheMC-30shouldbelocatedina ventilatedarea.Iftheamplifierishousedina cabinetor
otherenclosure,holesshouldbeprovidedforaircirculation.
InputConnections
1.Whena McIntoshAudioCompensatororotherMcIntoshpre-amplifierisusedwiththe
MC-30,plugthepre-amplifier'soutput-powercordintothe"Pre-Ampinput"receptacleonthe
MC-30andturnthe"gain"controlfullycounterclockwise.Thisreceptaclesuppliesthere-
quiredplateandfilamentpowertothepre-amplifierequipmentaswellasprovidingtheneces-
saryaudioconnection.

2,Whena signalsourceof0.5 voltsormoreisusedtodrivetheamplifier,suchasthe
outputfroma tuner,taperecorder,orpre-amplifier,plugthesourceintothe"0.5 voltinput"
pinjackreceptacleorconnecttothe"0.5volt"and"GND"screwterminals.Usethe"gain"
controltoobtainthedesiredoperatinglevel.
