Quick Start GSV-4GPRS
Step 1: Insert SIMCard
•Enter SIMCard, chip facing downwards
Step 2: Preparations
In the next step you will need information about your simcard:
•PIN Number
•Internet ccess Data of your GPRS Provider
•Username and Password (if required, depends on provider)
•SMS Center Number of your GPRS Provider
•Serial port number of your computer (COM1 oder COM25 … )
Step 3: Enter your PI o
•Install the configuration jumper
•Connect Modem with computer, using a
SUB D9 connection cable
•Start Software simcard.exe
•Follow the instructions
•Remove the configuration jumper
Step 4: Test
Remove configuration jumper and serial cable.
Power on (push button for 1s)
The red LED announces a succesful connection with server.
The green LED announces network search while flashing with a frequency of 1 per
second. If green LED flashes with a frequency of 0,3 per second, it is logged in
GSM/GPRS network.
The modem needs about 60 Seconds, until it is connected with server.

Software SIMCard
The software simcard.exe is a simple setup utility for your modem.
You may enter your SIMCard PIN Number, the telephone number of SMS-Service Center
and the internet-access data of your provider.
It may be used also to update the firmware of the modem.
Important note:
Befor you start the software, you should
•install the configuration jumper,
•turn off the modem.
The COM port must be opened within the first 6 seconds after the modem is switched on.
Information screen; continue with ENTER
Within 6 Seconds after power on of modem, you should enter the COM port.
Nevertheless, please wait 3 seconds after power on.
Power on: please press the button for 1 second.

If you see the T Commands on screen, power on timing was perfect.
Please enter the data of your SIMCard. Please do not start Firmware Update.
With „t“, you can start a test-connection to the server.

If the test is succesful, you will see this screen.
With ENTER, the modem will be switched of by T command.
Dont forget to remove the configuration jumper.
