5. Start-up and Charging the Lamp
5.1. Start-up
The WM56 Flood Light is ready to use after unpacking but it is advisable to fully charge the battery before first operation (see
point 5.2).
You can switch on the Flood Light via pressing the On/Off switch (5) in the front area of the handhold. Because of the integrated
softstart function the halogen bulb starts to light 0.5 seconds later.
You can switch off the Flood Light via pressing the On/off switch (5) again.
5.2. Charging
The charging is carried out via the plug socket (3) on the left side of the lamp.
1. Please make sure that the device is switched off;
2. Remove the plastic cover from the plug socket (3);
3. Connect the plug of the charging cable (1)/(2) and the plug socket (3);
4. Connect the charging cable (1) / (2) with the power source;
The whole charging process is now carried out automatically and indicated via permanent lighting of the yellow LED (7). As the
charging advances, the intensity of the yellow LED decreases until complete termination. The complete lapsed LED (7) indi-
cates that the battery is charged to its full capacity and the charge process is completed.
After complete charging please disconnect the charging cable from the lamp.
Advice for battery care:
To increase the lifetime of the lamps battery, the charging process should not be cancelled before the yellow LED is lapsed.
Before every tenth charging process the battery should be discharged until the automatic shut down. If you only rarely use the
flood light please fully charge the battery every half year due to self discharge.
5.3. LED –Function Overview
The red LED (6) begins to light when lamp is on:
About 10 minutes operating time remaining until automatic shut down (deep discharge protection) Please recharge the
Flood Light.
The yellow LED (7) lights during the charge process:
The charging process is running. Please wait until the LED is off.
6. Changing the Halogen Bulb
1. Switch off the Flood light (5);
2. Bring the lamp in an upright position and twist off the screw closure (8) counter-clockwise;
3. Remove the reflector and loosen the bulb socket from the reflector. Do not touch the inner surface of the reflector;
4. Exchange the defective halogen bulb. In doing so, do not touch the bulb with your fingers (use a greaseless cloth
or similar instead). If the new bulb starts to light after inserting, shut off the lamp immediately. Danger of being burnt!
5. Reassemble the bulb socket and the reflector. Take care that the clamps are inserted in the designated slots;
6. Attach the reflector into the lamp;
7. Fix the screw closure (8) clockwise and tighten hand-tight;
