About the product
PADDY ALERT Keyring is an accessory device that can operate as follows:
• Secondary alarm whether connected to the PADDY Smart Pad phone APP: it works
as a reminder in case the driver leaves both the mobile phone and the child in the
vehicle. In such case the device will activate a sound and visual alarm. If the baby is
not removed from the seat within 30 seconds, and the alert silenced, the mobile
APPwillsendamessageincludingtheGPSco-ordinatesoftheplacewherethealarm
was generated to the predened associated users.
• Primary alarm if connected to the PADDY Smart Pad only : as a reminder in case the
driver leaves the vehicle with the child inside. In this case, the device will activate
an audible and visual alarm.
In both functions, up to four pads can be managed simultaneously.

USING THE DEVICE WITH THE APP
On rst use, press the button for 1 second to turn
onthedevice:abeepwillconrmthedeviceisON.
After 60 seconds of inactivity and no movement,
PADDY ALERT will turn o. At its rst movement it
will light up again
To pair the device with the APP, press the icon PADDY on the screen of the smartphone
and then“CONNECT” bar, as shown below. Note: on some smartphones it is necessary
to activate permissions. ATTENTION: do not rename the PADDY ALERT present in the
list of paired Bluetooth® devices.

The device will automatically connect with the APP and when the ALERT is paired,
the device image will appear. Press “BACK” to return to the main APP screen. A new
battery level indicator will appear on the PADDY icon as shown below. This conrms
that the ALERT device is now operational. Note: in case of update of the ALERT version,
a notication will appear to be conrmed.
The device is now paired and shall connect to the APP automatically. It will set o
an alarm only in case the user has left the mobile phone and an unattended child
in the vehicle.

The device shall remain in such mode until the alarm is deactivated. If the alarm is not
deactivated by pressing the button on the device or by removing the child from the
car seat, the APP will send a message to all the predened associated users such as:
“(NAME OFTHE CHILD) HAS BEEN ABANDONED AT GPS 22.3213N 113.9433E)”.
Theassociatedusers canaccessthemaponthephoneandviewtheexactlocationwhere
the child was left unattended.Then they can contact the other users and proceed to
rescue the unattended child.
To check the battery charge status pressthePADDYALERTbutton,theLEDwillashfrom
1 to 4 times. If it only ashes once, then the battery needs to be replaced.
Important: False alarms may occur due to disturbances in the Bluetooth
signal.

USING THE DEVICE WITHOUT THE APP
Pairing the PADDY ALERT with the PADDY SMART PAD.
Note: If there are smartphones nearby, you must disable the Bluetooth® of the smar-
tphone. Or if there are other PADDY ALERTS nearby, you have to move them away as
they could automatically connect or disturb the signal. You will be able to reactivate
Bluetooth® and bring the other key rings together again as soon as the operation
is completed.
On rst use, press the button for 1 second to turn on the device: a beep will conrm the
device is ON. After 60 seconds of inactivity and no movement, PADDY ALERT will turn
o. At its rst movement it will light up again.
To pair the PADDY ALERT with the PADDY SMART PAD press the PADDY logo on the pad
until a beep sound is heard. Keep the pressure on the pad and press the ALERT button
for 8/10 seconds. Releasing the button the device , with the LED ashing continuously,
will be in search mode for almost 30 seconds, during this lap of time further pads may
pair. When a beep sound is heard: the device is now connected to the Smart Pad. The
LED ashes every 8/10 seconds.
Repeat the above to associate other PADDY SMART PADS with the PADDY ALERT, up
to a maximum of 4.
Itwillsetoanalarmonlyincase the user has left the mobile phone and an unattended
child in the vehicle.

The device shall remain in such mode until the alarm is deactivated by pressing the
button on the device or by removing the child from the car seat. PADDY ALERT will
reconnect via sound and light signal when it re-approaches the associated PADDY
SMART PADS. To cancel all the pairings to the PADDY SMART PADS, press the button on
the PADDY ALERT until the conrmation beep is heard. This operation is only possible
if the paired PADDY SMART PADS do not detect the presence of the child on the device.
To check the battery status, press the PADDY ALERT button, the LED will ash from 1 to
4times.Ifitashesonlyonce,thebatteryneedstobereplaced. However,if the battery
chargeisequaltoorlessthan20%,theLEDwillashcontinuously, along with an alarm
tone, warning that the battery needs to be replaced.
Important: False alarms may occur due to disturbances in the Bluetooth
signal.

Product maintenance
The cover’s outer fabric is waterproof and can
be removed and washed by following the
instructions shown on the inner label. Open the
zip on the pad’s outer cover, remove the inside
of the pad and put it in a clean, dry place. The
estimated battery life is about 2 years. If the
PADDY SMART PAD makes 4 beeps when the
child is in the car seat or when it is connecting
to your phone, it means that the battery must be
replaced. Open the zip and remove the inside to
change the battery. Unscrew the two screws on
the battery compartment and replace it.
Warranty
The product is under warranty against any
non-conformity defectundernormal conditionsof
use. The warranty therefore does not apply in the
event of damage caused by improper use, wear
andtearor accidentaldamage.(NB: thebatteryis
notincludedin the warrantyas it isaconsumable
itemandmust be replacedwhen needed). Please
referto the specicnational legal provisionsappli-
cableinthe country ofpurchasefor thedurationof
the warranty for conformity defects.
General warnings
•
This pad has been tested by the competent
authorities to prove that it does not interfere
withapproved car seats.Only use withappro-
vedcar seats.Ifthe padisdamaged, donotuse
it and immediately replace/repair it through
themanufactureror one ofits authorised sup-
port centres. Please check that the device’s
battery is charged before use.

PADDY SMART PAD and PADDY ALERT use a
lithium battery. To prevent serious damage,
donotreplace itwithanother type of battery.
•
PADDY SMART PAD has been designed to
monitor the presence of a child in a car seat
and to warn the driver. It should not be con-
sidereda safety systemandis not intendedto
replace adult supervision of children. It does
not release the driver from their responsi-
bilities and does not eliminate the risk of
forgetting a child in a car.
•
Ifyouonly usethe PADDY SMARTPAD padwith
the APP, it is the user’s responsibility to make
surethat their smartphone isnot in airplaneor
energy-savingmode and thatBluetooth® and
PADDY SMART PAD / PADDY SMART PAD PLUS/ PADDY ALERT

location services are always turned on. The
APP must ALWAYS be turned on and properly
installed. If it is o (and removed from the
background),the devicewillnot send anytype
ofalarm.Thedrivermust act accordinglyif an
alarm is heard.

Do not leave any packaging material lying
around (plastic bags, cardboard boxes, etc)

using the device, please make sure that it is

away from all external heat sources.
• If the car seat or device is not properly atta-
ched, it might harm the user. Always follow
the user instructions and refer to them
whenever you have to remove/reposition
the device. Always check that the device is
compatible with the car seat. If not, it must
not be used.

Do notadd anyotheraccessories thathave not
beenapproved by thecompetentauthorities.
Do notremove the coverand do notreplaceit
withanotherone that hasnot been approved
by the manufacturer. Do not put it in water
without having rst removed the electronic
moduleinsidethe pad.Keepthe deviceand its
battery away from any heat sources.

Alwaysfollow thespecicationsregarding the
age and weight of the child using this device.
Do not use it for children of a dierent age
or weight than specied in the following
manual. The inammable materials used to
make the pad comply with the relevant para-
graphs of the ECE Consolidated Resolution on
the Construction of Vehicles.

If your operating system changes or is
updated, we recommend checking that the
PADDY SMART PAD and PADDY ALERT devices
are working properly before use.

Please contact an authorised technical sup-
port centre in the event of a malfunction.
• Do not ingest battery, Chemical Burn Hazard.
•
This product contains a coin / button cell
battery. If the coin / button cell battery is
swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns
in just 2 hours and can lead to death.
•
Keep new and used batteries away from
children.
•
If the battery compartment does not close
securely, stop using the product and keep it
away from children.
• If you think batteries might have been swal-
lowed or placed inside any part of the body,
seek immediate medical attention.

Disposal
Pursuant to Legislative Decree No 49 of 14 March
2014. “Implementation of Directive 2012/19/EU
on waste electrical and electronic equipment
(WEEE)”
The symbol of a crossed-out bin shown on the
device indicates that the product must be col-
lected separately from other waste at the end
of its useful life.
At the end of its life, users must therefore give
the entire device together with its essential
components to appropriate recycling centres for
electrical and electronic waste, or return it to the
retailer when they purchase a new equivalent
device, as a like-for-like exchange or take-back
for devices with a largest edge of under 25 cm.

Description du produit
Le porte-clé PADDY ALERT est un accessoire pouvant fonctionner comme suit :

Entant qu’alarmesecondaire,s’ilestconnectévial’applicationpour smartphone:danscecas,si
leconducteuroublieàlafoisl’enfantdanslevéhiculeet sontéléphoneportable,le porte-clé

coordonnées GPS du lieu où l’alarme a été émise.

cas, si le conducteur s’éloigne du véhicule en emportant avec soi le porte-clé et en laissant
l’enfant dans le véhicule, le porte-clé émet une alarme sonore et visuelle.
Dans ces deux modes, il est possible de connecter simultanément jusqu’à quatre coussins.

UTILISATION DU DISPOSITIF AVEC
L’APPLICATION
Lors de la première utilisation, il faut appuyer sur le
bouton pendant 1 seconde an d’allumer le dispo-
sitif : un signal sonore et visuel conrme l’allumage
dudispositif.Après 60 secondes d’inactivitéetaucun
mouvement, le PADDY ALERT s’éteint. Dès son pre-
mier mouvement, il se rallume automatiquement.
Pour associer le porte-clé à l’application, appuyer sur le logo PADDY présent sur l’écran
du téléphone puis sur « SE CONNECTER », comme indiqué ci-après. (Remarque : sur
certains smartphones, il est nécessaire d’activer les autorisations). ATTENTION : ne pas
renommerlePADDYALERTgurantdanslalistedesdispositifsassociésduBluetooth®.

L’appareil s’associeautomatiquementàl’APPLICATIONetlorsquel’appareil estcouplé,laphoto
de l’appareil passe du noir et blanc à la couleur. Une fois couplé, appuyez sur la barre RETOUR
pour revenir à l’écran principal de l’APPLICATION. Un nouvel indicateur de niveau de charge
de la batterie apparaîtra au-dessus du logo PADDY, comme illustré ci-dessous. Cela conrme
que le dispositif d’alerte est désormais opérationnel. L’appareil s’associe automatiquement à
l’APPLICATION et lorsque l’appareil est couplé, l’image de l’appareil apparaît.
Une foiscouplé, appuyezsur la barreRETOUR pourrevenir à l’écranprincipal de l’APPLICATION.
Un nouvel indicateur de niveau de charge de la batterie apparaîtra au-dessus du logo PADDY,
commeillustréci-dessous.Celaconrme queledispositifd’alerteestdésormaisopérationnel.
Remarque: en cas de mise à jour de la version ALERT, une notication apparaîtra conrmée.

L’appareil est maintenant couplé et doit se connecter automatiquement à l’APPLICATION. Il
déclenchera une alarme uniquement si l’utilisateur a laissé le téléphone portable et l’enfant
sans surveillance dans le véhicule.
L’appareil restera dans ce mode jusqu’à ce que l’alarmesoitdésactivéeetquel’enfant soit
retiré du siège. Si l’alarme n’est pas désactivée en appuyant sur le bouton de l’appareil
ouenretirantl’enfantdusiègeauto, l’applicationenverraàtousles utilisateursassociés
prédénis un message tels que:
“(NOM DE L’ENFANT) A ÉTÉ ABANDONNÉ AU GPS 22.3213N 113.9433E) ”.
Lesutilisateursassociés peuvent accéderàlacarte sur le téléphone et voirl’emplacement
exact où l’enfant a été laissé sans surveillance. Ensuite, ils peuvent contacter les autres
utilisateurs et procéder au sauvetage de l’enfant.

UTILISATION SANS L’APPLICATION
Appairage du PADDY ALERT avec le PADDY SMART PAD
Remarque: s’il y a des smartphones à proximité, vous devez désactiver le Bluetooth®
du smartphone. Ou s’il y a d’autres ALERTES PADDY à proximité, vous devez les éloig-
ner car elles pourraient automatiquement se connecter ou perturber le signal. Vous
pourrez réactiver Bluetooth® et rassembler à nouveau les autres porte-clés dès que
l’opération sera terminée.
Lors de la première utilisation, appuyez sur le bouton pendant 1 seconde pour allumer
l’appareil: un bip conrmera que l’appareil est allumé. Après 60 secondes d’inactivité
et sans mouvement, PADDY ALERT s’éteint. À son premier mouvement, il s’allumera
à nouveau.
Pour coupler le PADDY ALERT avec le PADDY SMART PAD, appuyez sur le logo PADDY sur
lepadjusqu’à ce qu’un bip retentisse.Maintenezla pression sur le coussinet et appuyez
sur le bouton ALERT pendant 8/10 secondes. En relâchant le bouton, l’appareil, avec
la lumière DEL clignotant en continu, sera en mode de recherche pendant près de 30
secondes, pendant ce laps de temps, d’autres coussinets peuvent se coupler.
Lorsqu’unbip retentit sur lePADDY ALERTsigniequel’appareil est maintenant connecté
au coussinet. La lumière DEL clignote toutes les 8/10 secondes. Répétez la procédure
ci-dessus pour associer d’autrescoussinetsPADDYSMARTPADS à PADDY ALERT, jusqu’à
un maximum de 4.

Il déclenchera une alarme uniquement dans le cas où l’utilisateur a laissé le téléphone
portable et un enfant sans surveillance dans le véhicule.
L’appareil resteradanscemodejusqu’à ce que l’alarmesoitdésactivéeenappuyant sur le
boutondel’appareil ou en retirantl’enfant du sièged’auto. PADDY ALERT se reconnectera
via un signal sonore et lumineux lorsqu’il se rapproche du PADDY SMART PADS associé.
Pour annuler tous les appairages avec les PADDY SMART PADS, appuyez sur le bouton
du PADDY ALERT jusqu’à ce que le bip de conrmation retentisse. Cette opération n’est
possible que si les PADDY SMART PADS couplés ne détectent pas la présence de l’enfant
sur l’appareil.
Pour vérier l’état de la batterie, appuyez sur le bouton PADDY ALERT, la lumière DEL
clignoterade1à4fois.S’ilneclignotequ’uneseulefois, la batterie doit êtreremplacée.
Cependant, si la charge de la batterie est égale ou inférieure au 20%, la lumière DEL
clignotera en continu, avec une tonalité d’alarme, avertissant que la batterie doit être
remplacée.
Important: de fausses alarmes peuvent se produireenraisondeperturbations
du signal Bluetooth.
