Fuel for this machine is highly ammable and explosive. Do not overll the fuel
tank. Allow room for expansion of the fuel. Fill the tank away from the engine and
avoid spills. The fuel tank must be in contact with the ground before and during lling. Do not let the
fuel line come in contact with the exhaust system. Failure to follow these precauons could lead to a
re and serious injury or death. The Vantage-Vac engine has an aached fuel tank, allow the engine to
cool before relling.
Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas that could kill you in
minutes. You CANNOT see it, smell it, or taste it. Even if you do not smell exhaust
fumes, you could sll be exposed to carbon monoxide gas. If you start to feel sick, dizzy, or weak while
using this product, shut it o and get to fresh air immediately. Seek medical aenon immediately.
You may have carbon monoxide poisoning.
The surfaces of the engine and exhaust can be extremely hot. Do not touch, allow
to cool before servicing.
Rotang fan blades inside can crush or cut. The vacuum has a strong sucon at the
inlet. At all mes keep hands, clothing, etc., away from the inlet of your vacuum.
Pressurized air and material leaving the discharge can cause serious injury or death
if personnel are struck. Stay clear of outlet and surrounding area while operang.
Never operate without collecon device securely connected to the discharge.
1. Place your equipment on a level surface. Posion it so the collecon bag will not be blown by the
wind and come in contact with the engine exhaust system. Prevent the vacuum from moving. If
your model is equipped with a wheel locking device, engage it.
NOTE: The Vantage-Vac and the Versa-Vac require that either a hose or the debris guard is aached
to the discharge (refer to gure A). The vacuum will not start or connue to run without a hose or the
debris guard aached. The Veloci-Vac has a discharge “Y” (refer to gure B) that must be mounted
before any other aachment. The “Y” locks into place with a clockwise twist.

SECTION V
SHUT DOWN

Figure B
2. Aach a collecon bag (over the debris guard or to the “Y”) or hose to the discharge.
3. Aach the hose to the inlet of the vacuum using the clamp provided. Addional hose lengths
may then be aached to the inlet hose using hose connectors and clamps. NOTE: The vacuum will
funcon beer with less hose.
4. Aach the fuel tank to the engine and open the vent on the fuel tank. NOTE: The VANTAGE-VAC
has an aached tank.
5. Start the engine. (Refer to the engine manual for the correct start-up and shutdown procedures.)
REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST!!!!!!
The throle on the engine should be moved to “Slow” when the vacuum is not in use.
Do not stand close to or near the inlet, inlet hose, discharge, discharge hose, or discharge collecon bag
while the unit is starng, running, or shung down.
At all mes, protect yourself. There is always the possibility of material or foreign objects passing
through the equipment.
Rotang fan blades inside can crush and cut. Do not remove any inlet or discharge
aachment unl the vacuum has come to a complete stop. Failure to do so will
expose the operator to a moving fan blade which if contacted, will lead to serious injury or death.
1. Move the throle to the slow posion. Run the machine for approximately 5 minutes.
2. Turn the engine o and remove the key.
3. Remove the collecon bag.
4. Disconnect the hose.

ENGINE: The cooling fan screen should be cleared of dust and debris aer every use. Refer to the
engine manual provided for addional service and maintenance.
BATTERY: The baery provided with your equipment is of the lead acid type. The baery cables
should be checked daily for corrosion and ghtness.
FAN HOUSING AND WHEEL: During the normal use of your vacuum, no maintenance is required on the
fan wheel or housing.
If a problem noise or vibraon should occur, stop the equipment immediately!! Contact the factory as
soon as possible. Do not operate this equipment unl it has been thoroughly checked by the factory or
factory authorized representave.
The fan wheel assembly has been balanced at the factory. Noises or vibraons
coming from the fan indicate that for some reason the fan wheel has gone out
of balance. The fan assembly is rotang at nearly 3600 rpm and if the fan wheel is out of balance,
the possibility that the fan wheel will explode in the housing is high. The vacuum MUST be shut
down immediately. Failure to do so could lead to serious injury or death and costly damage to the
equipment.
The fan wheels are designed and manufactured specically for these vacuums. Replacement fan
wheels are only available from the manufacturer, do not aempt to substute. Contact Wm. W. Meyer
& Sons for replacement parts and if you have any quesons or concerns at 1-800-963-4458.
