combustible material between
the base of the replace and
any surface of the combusti-
ble ooring.
13. At least 10”-12” of noncom-
bustible or heat-resistant
material is required above the
replace. A replace hood
will be required to act as a
heat deector in protecting
combustible replace sur-
rounds (facing and/or mantel)
if certain minimum clearanc-
es cannot be met (see the
“Clearances to Combustibles”
section).
14. All models of this heater have
an input rating of more than
10,000 BTU/hr and shall not be
installed in a bedroom or bath-
room (ANSI Z21.11.2).
15. WARNING: Failure to keep the
primary air opening(s) of the
burner(s) clean may result in
sooting and property damage.
16.
When installing as a decorative
vented appliance, the unit must
conform to all local codes or,
in the absence of local codes,
to the National Fuel Gas Code
ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54.
17. The appliance and its appli-
ance main gas valve must be
disconnected from the gas
supply piping system during
any pressure testing of that
system at test pressure in
excess of ½ psi (3.5 kPa). The
appliance must be isolated
from the gas supply piping
system by closing its equip-
ment shutoff valve during any
pressure testing of the gas
supply piping system at test
pressure equal to or less than
½ psi (3.5 kPa).
18. Keep the area around your gas
appliance clear of combusti-
ble materials, gasoline, and
any other ammable vapors/
liquids. Be especially cautious
if the gas appliance is installed
in a basement or converted
garage.

and to replace a part of the
control system and any gas
control which has been under
water.

check of the pilot and burner
ame.
21. WARNING: This appliance
is for installation only in a
solid-fuel burning masonry or
Ul 127 factory-built replace
or in a listed ventless rebox
enclosure. It has been design
certied for these installa-
tions.
Exception: DO NOT Install this
appliance in a factory-built
replace that includes instruc-
tions stating it has not been
tested or should not be used
with unvented gas logs.
22. WARNING: Before installing in
a solid-fuel burning replace,
the chimney ue and rebox
must be cleaned of soot, cre-
osote, ashes, and loose paint
by a qualied chimney cleaner.
23. WARNING: Do not allow fans
to blow directly into the re-
place. Avoid any drafts that
alter burner ame patterns.
More frequent cleaning may
be required due to excessive
lint from carpeting, bedding

be kept clean.
8. Do not block air intakes and
maintain adequate clearances
to enable the free ow of air.

installed in a room or space
unless the required volume
of indoor combustion air
is provided by the method
described in the National Fuel
Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA
54, the International Fuel Gas
Code, or applicable local
codes.
10. This heater needs fresh,
outside air ventilation to run
properly. This heater has
an oxygen depletion sensor
(ODS) pilot light safety sys-
tem. The ODS shuts down the
heater if not enough fresh air
is available. See Air for Com-
bustion and Ventilation, pages
6 through 8. If heater keeps
shutting off, see Troubleshoot-
ing, pages 30 and 31.
11. Provide adequate clearances
for servicing and operation.
12. Do not install this appliance
directly on combustible oor-
ing. Be certain that the top
surface of the combustible
ooring material (i.e. carpet,
