Mimio Digital Ink Recording User manual

Use this guide to quickly setup and use your mimio Xi system to
record notes and information written on your whiteboard.

1Check your contents
Your mimio Xi contains the following components:

2Install mimio Studio
1. Insert the mimio Studio CD into your CD ROM drive.
2. When the CD's icon appears on the desktop, double-click the
icon to display the CD's contents.
3. Double-click the mimio Studio icon. An installation application
will launch.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions.

3Setup your mimio Xi
1. Unfold the mimio Xi.
2. Plug the included mini-USB cable into the socket on the bottom
recessed end of the mimio Xi.

3. Attach the mimio Xi to your whiteboard, using one of the
following:
•For periods of extended use or repeated use in any location,
attach the mimio Xi using the mounting brackets:
a. Snap the mounting brackets over the suction cups,
making sure they clip into the recesses on the edges of
the mimio Xi.
b. Carefully peel the backing from the adhesive strips.
c. Mount the mimio Xi by pressing the bar, with mounting
bracket in place, in the upper left-hand corner of your
whiteboard.
•For short periods of use, attach the mimio Xi using the
suction cups.
a. Clean the surface of the whiteboard with a damp cloth.

b. Press the mimio Xi in the upper left-hand corner of your
whiteboard.
4. Plug the other end of the USB cable into your computer USB
port. The capture bar should be automatically detected by the
computer and the mimio Studio software. Refer to your system
documentation if you are unable to find the USB port, or if your
capture bar is not automatically detected.

4Setup your pens
1. Remove the end of the
stylus by twisting and
pulling.
2. Remove the colored cap
by pressing on the
colored nodes and pulling.
3. Insert N-Cell battery.
4. Put the colored cap back
on by snapping it into
place.
5. Insert the Expo Marker
that matches the colored
cap into the stylus.
6. Put the stylus back
together by pushing and
twisting.
7. Repeat steps 1-6 for all 4
pens.

5Setup your eraser
1. Remove the eraser cover, by pressing on the sides of the eraser
and pulling.
2. Insert AAA battery.

3. Puttheeraserbacktogether.

The mimio eraser features a wide pad for erasing large areas plus a smaller
pad for precise work.

6Adjust your surface size
1. Right-click mimio Studio on the Dock and select
Settings.
2. Click Devices .
3. Click the Device dropdown and choose the device you wish to
adjust.

4. Click Auto Size and touch any mimio Stylus pen to the targeted
location at the lower right corner of your whiteboard.
5. Click OK to save the changes.

7Recording digital ink
•The mimio Notebook will automatically begin recording digital
ink when a mimio Stylus is used on the whiteboard.

•Press the New Page button, to insert a new page.
•Press the Copy Page button, to insert a duplicate of the
current page.
•Press the Print Page button, to print the current page.
•Press the Minimize/Maximize Window button, to
change the state of the mimio Notebook.

capture bar (folded), eraser, styli, cable, and
software in a sturdy shell embroidered with the
mimio logo.
Extra mimio Stylus
mimio Xi supports up to eight unique pens. Pens
come in black, red, green, blue, purple, yellow,
orange, and brown.
Extra mimio Eraser and Holder
The mimio eraser features a wide pad for erasing
large areas plus a smaller pad for precise work.



