QUICK INSTALLATIONGUIDE

Introduction
AccessITisan appliance based application thatprovidesITstaff withsecureand
centralized managementofall remote access servicesin the organization. Itoperates
in both Windowsand Linux environmentsand isaccessiblefromInternetExplorer
and Firefox.
Pre-installation guidelines
Prepare alistofallAccessITsystemcomponents. Youwillneedthisinformation to
configure the system.
Theattached sheetcontains2 listsofallthe detailsyou need to prepareforMinicom
KVM/IP devicesand PXunits(notPXSerial). Photocopyorprintit out.
Thelistsshouldinclude the IP device name and MAC address,KVMswitch and the
Targetdetails.
Foreach Target, list:
·Aunique and clearlyidentifiablename
·Theoperatingsystem
·Non-default mouse settings. Default mouse settingsdonotneed to be listed
Configuring KVM/IPdevicesto be Centralized Managementenabled
Refertothe UserGuide ofeach KVM/IP device and configurethemto be
Centralized Managementenabled.
Connecting theAccessITManager
1. Connectthe AccessITManagertothe networkasfollows:On the rearpanel
connectan Ethernetcable to LAN 1. Connectthe otherend ofthe Ethernetcable
to the networkswitch.
2. Connectthe AccessITManagerto apowersupplyoutlet.

AccessITManager’sdefaultnetworkparameters
Each AccessITManagerunit comeswiththe following network defaultvalues:
IP address-192.168.1.250.
Subnetmask-255.255.255.0
Gateway-192.168.1.1
Ifthese valuesare notsuitableforyournetwork, followthe stepsbelowtodisplay
the AccessITinterfaceand change the network parameters ofthe AccessIT
Manager.
Logging intotheAccessITwebinterface
1. Open yourWeb browser(InternetExplorerversion 6.0 -Firefox 3 orhigher
versions).
2. Type intheIP address ofthe AccessITManager(default IP address
https://192.168.1.250) and press Enter. (Change yourcomputernetworksettings,
if necessary). The Login page appears.
3. Type the loginname admin and password access.
4. Press Enter.The Web interface appears, see Figure1.

Note!On firstconnection the AccessITGUIpromptsyou to install the AccessIT
clientsoftware. Click Install.
Note!In Firefox, the clientplugin isinstalled when you navigate to the Access
section.
Changing theAccessITManagernetworkparameters
1. Navigate tothe Network tab under Settings/Unit Maintenance (see figure
below)and change the networkparameterstosuityournetworkconfiguration.

2. PressSave and restart the AccessITManager.
3. Waitforthe systemto restart and login withthe newIP address.
