The DC 5011 digital camera is a first class all-round
companion which boasts a powerful performance
and outstanding features at an attractive price. These
include the superb TFT colour display, for example,
which makes motif selection and subsequent image
assessment extremely convenient. Featuring a dia-
gonal of 2.5 inch it is one of the largest displays
currently available in the digital compact camera
sector and is also easy to read from different viewing
angles, even in sunlight, thanks to its anti-reflex coa-
ting. The CCD image sensor embedded in the heart
of the sturdy camera body delivers a resolution of
up to 5 million pixels and forms the technical basis
for high resolution images with plenty of scope for
any detail enlargements required later on.
The brilliance of the picture results is provided by
the MINOCTAR lens with its multiple coating and the
fast, precise autofocus feature. Boasting a 3x optical
zoom it offers the photographer creative freedom for
individual composition of details, without having to
sacrifice resolution quality. Optimally coordinated
with the 5-megapixel sensor the lens is able to de-
liver dynamic images with natural colour rendition,
whatever the situation.A fast image sequence for
continuous shooting and minimal shutter release
delay allow spontaneous snapshots.The available
fastest shutter speed is 1/1000 of a second.
The automatic white balance of the 5011 guarantees
perfect exposures under changing light conditions.
Four different flash functions and the possibility to
adjust the ISO sensitivity in three stages also allow
perfect adjustment of the shot to the ambient con-
ditions. In addition to this, the MINOX DC 5011 can
record video clips.
Besides the integrated slot for SD memory cards
with a capacity of up to 512 megabyte the MINOX
DC 5011 also offers an additional, integral data
storage of 16 MB. The user can therefore rely on
being able to capture a very large number of high
quality photos – and at the same time the camera
remains ready to shoot several spontaneous snap-
shots, even when the SD card is removed or full.
Using commercially available AA alkaline batteries as
power source makes the photographer independent
when traveling. During the data transfer to the PC
the power supply can also be provided through an
optional power supply unit. For fast and easy trans-
mission of the digital pictures to the computer the
MINOX DC 5011 has a digital USB port and it also
features a video interface for viewing the pictures
on TV. Using the provided software the pictures can
be viewed conveniently on the PC and can also be
touched up. Extremely compact dimensions of just
91 x 61.9 x 27 mm make the MINOX DC 5011 the
ideal permanent companion. This compact camera
from MINOX is a real alternative for photographers

rendition and high resolution.
