Introduction
•
Th FX-1PG/FX
2N
-1PG puls g n rator unit (h r inaft r r f rr d to as “PGU”) p rforms simpl positioning of an
ind p nd nt axis (not int rpolation control b tw n multipl ax s) by supplying a pr scrib d quantity of puls s (100 kHz
maximum) to driv amplifi rs for s rvo or st pp r motors.
•
Th FX-1PG is attach d as an xt nsion to th FX/FX

s ri s PC. Each PGU functions as a sp cial block which
transf rs data with th PC using th FROM/TO instructions, and occupi s 8 points of inputs or outputs. Up to 8 PGU
units can b conn ct d to singl PC so op ration for ind p nd nt 8 ax s can b r aliz d.
•
Th PGU provid s conn ction t rminals for positioning op rations that r quir high-v locity r spons s as w ll as thos
us d for puls train outputs. Oth r g n ral I/O op rations ar controll d via th PC.
•
B caus all th program for positioning control ar x cut d in th PC, th PGU do s not r quir d dicat d t aching

Multiplication of position data (b5, b4)
Th position data HP, P(I),
P(II) and CP will b multipli d
by th valu shown in th tabl
on th l ft.
Exampl : Wh n th valu of th s t position P(I)
(BFMs #18 and #17) is 123 and th BFM
#3 (b5, b4) is (1, 1), th actual position (or
trav l) b com s as follows:
Motor syst m of units 123 ×10
3
= 123,000 (puls s)
Machin syst m of units 123 ×10

➂
Puls output format (b8)
Th puls output t rminals FP and RP of th PGU
chang as follows in accordanc with th s tting (0 or
1) of b8.
•Wh n b8 = 0: Forward puls (FP) and r v rs puls
(RP)
•Wh n b8 = 1: Puls (PLS) with
dir ction (DIR)
➃
Rotation dir ction (b9)
•Wh n b9 = 0: Th curr nt position (CP) valu
incr as s with a forward puls (FP).
•Wh n b9 = 1: Th curr nt position (CP) valu
d cr as s with a forward puls (FP).
This bit is us d for th initial s tting. Th rotation
dir ction is not r quir d to b chang d in v ry
actual op ration.
➄
Hom position r turn dir ction (b10)
•Wh n b10 = 0: Th curr nt position (CP) valu
d cr as s during r turn to th
hom position.
•Wh n b10 = 1: Th curr nt position (CP) valu
incr as s during r turn to th hom
position.
➅
DOG input polarity (b12)
•Wh n b12 = 0: Th DOG (n ar point signal) input is
turn d on wh n th workpi c is
coming n ar th hom position.
•Wh n b12 = 1: Th DOG (n ar point signal) input is
turn d off wh n th workpi c is
coming n ar th hom position.

➆
Count start point (b13)
S S ctions 6.1.1 to 6.1.3.
This bit sp cifi s th point at which counting of z ro point
signals is start d.
•Wh n b13 = 0: Counting of z ro point signals is
start d wh n th DOG input is giv n
(wh n DOG input is turn d on if b12
is s t to 0 or wh n DOG input is
turn d off if b12 is s t to 1).
•Wh n b13 = 1: Counting of z ro point signals is
start d wh n th DOG input is giv n
onc , th n stopp d.
➇
STOP input polarity (b14)
•Wh n b14 = 0: Th op ration is stopp d wh n th
input is turn d on (OFF during
op ration).
•Wh n b14 = 1: Th op ration is stopp d wh n th
input is turn d off (ON during
op ration).
This polarity chang ov r is valid xclusiv ly for
th STOP input in th PGU.
➈
STOP input mod (b15)
•Wh n b15 = 0: Th op ration is int rrupt d wh n th
stop command is giv n (from th
PGU or th PC) during op ration,
th n th op ration for th r maining
distanc is r start d wh n th
r start command is giv n.
Th Jog driv b gins again wh n
th stop command is turn d off from
turning on wh n th Jog command
has b n turn d on.
* How v r, if any BFM ( xc pt #25) is r writt n
whil op ration is int rrupt d by th stop
command, th op ration for th r maining
distanc will not b p rform d. Writ th BFMs
by puls op ration ( xc pt th BFM #25).
•Wh n b15 = 1: Th op ration for th r maining
distanc is not p rform d, but th
n xt positioning is p rform d.
Th Jog driv b gins again wh n
th stop command is turn d off from
turning on wh n th Jog command
has b n turn d on.
