blades.Donottryto removecut-offmatterwith

cutoffwithyourhand.Removecut-offmatterthat
is stuck betweenthebladesonly withthe toolbe-
ingswitchedoff! When workingwithhedgetrimmers
even ashortmomentofinattentivenessmayresult in
severeinjury.
- Holdthe powertoolbyits insulatedhandlingsur-
facesasthecutting bladesmightgetintouchwith
thetool’sownpowercable. If thecuttingblades
shouldaccidentallycutintoalivepower cablethis
mightturnmetal parts of thetool ‘hot’thereby causing
anelectric shock.
- Carrythehedgetrimmerat thehandlewiththe
cuttingbladesstandingstill. Alwaysput on the
protectioncoverwhentransportingor storingthe
hedgetrimmer. Carefulhandlingreducestheriskof
injurythroughthecutting blades.
- Keepthecableawayfromthecuttingarea. When
workingwiththetrimmerthecablemightbe hiddenin
bushesandaccidentally cut through.

Mountingthebow-type handle (Fig.1)
Thebow-typehandlemustbepulledoverthebladesys-
temfrombelowasshowninFig.1andthensetintothe
reliefofthehedgeshearshousing.Indoing so,onemust
notpushthetwopartsofthe bow-type handletogether.

9.Switching thehedgeshearson/off (Fig.4)
When switchingthehedgeshearsontakeasafestand.
Thesehedgeshearshaveatwo-handsafety switch.To
switchthehedgeshearson the barswitch inthehandle
(A)andthe gripswitchofthebow-typehandle(B)must
bepusheddown. Toswitchthedeviceoff letgo ofboth
switches.Themotoralreadystopsifoneofthetwo
switches is released.
10.Adjustingtheturninghandle
Tofacilitateyourworkthehedgetrimmerareequipped
withaturningrearhandlethatcan besetin3different
positions(right,left, andnormal).Thepurposeofthis
mechanismis thatespecially forcuttinginverticaldirec-
tionthehedgeshearscanbe heldintheirergonomically
most favourable position wherebyanearly fatigue of the
user is avoided.
Pleaseproceedasfollows tochange thepositionofthe
handle:
Releaseswitch(A).Pull back thelockingpin(C)(Fig.
5).Thehandleis now unlockedandcanbeturnedtothe
desiredposition(Fig.6+7).Inthedesiredendposition,
thepinlocks backintoplaceandsecuring thehandle
andavoiding anaccidentalchangeoftheposition.
Pleasebear inmindthatthelocking pin(C)canonly be
pulledback whentheswitch(A)is notactivated(held
down).Makesure thatthelockingpinlocks intoplace
againafterrepositioningtheturning handle.Only then
theswitchcanbe activatedanew.
11.Holding thehedgetrimmerwheninuse

This equipment will enableyoutocutortrimbushes and
hedgeseasily and comfortably.
Trimming ofhedges
-Youngshoots are bestcutin a scythemovement.
-Olderandstrongerhedgesarebest cutinasawing
movement.
-Branches,whicharetoothick forthehedgetrimmer,
shouldbe cutwithasaw.
-Sidesofhedges shouldbecutupwards inataper.

Two-handsafety switch (Fig.4)
Toswitchthehedge shearsonthebarswitchinthe
handle(A)andthegripswitchofthe bow-typehandle(B)
must bepusheddown. Toswitchthedeviceoffletgo of
both switches.The motoralready stopsif one ofthe two
switches is released.
Quickbladestop
Inordertoavoidinjuriesthroughcuts, thebladewill
stopinmax.0.2sec. when one ofthetwoswitchesis
released.
Bladesafetyrail (Fig.9)
Thecutting bladesetback fromthebladehousingreduc-
estherisk ofinjuriesduetounintentionalbodycontact.
Assoon asthehedgetrimmeris switchedoff,thesharp
cuttingbladeswill stop -duetosafetyreasons-exactly
underthe coverrail in orderto reducetherisk ofinjuries
duringtransport.
Impactprotector (Fig.11)
Theextendedguiderailpreventsunpleasantshocks
(bladerecoil)being transmittedtotheoperatordueto
impactwithsolidobjects(wall, groundetc.).
Gearprotectionfeature
If solidobjecst arecaughtinthe cuttingbladeand jam
themotor,switchoffthemachineatonce,disconnect the
powerplugfromthepowersocket, removetheobject
andcontinue withthework.

Alwaysdisconnecttheplugfromthepowersocket

Sharpeningoftheblades
Thebladesgenerally donotneedservicinganddo
notrequireresharpeningif usedcorrectly.Inorderto
preventinjuriescausedbythebladeswhennotinuse,
thesharpenedcuttingbladeshouldbecovered bythe
bladecover(Fig.9).Thebladescannotbesharpenedby
theuserwithoutopeningtheequipmentand thesafety
mechanism.Resharpeningofthebladescantherefore
only becarriedoutata specialist workshop.
Changingtheblades
Only correctinstallationofthebladeswill guarantee
problem-free operation and function of the above
mentionedsafety feature oftheblades.Changingof
thebladesshouldthereforeonlybecarried outata
specialistworkshop.
15.Repairservice
Repairstoelectric powertoolsshouldonly becarriedout
by specialist electricalpersonnnel.
