I N S T A L L A T I O N
1. Place rinter on a sturdy work surface
at a comfortable height.
2. Insert the ink roll assembly into the
ink swing arm.
3. Rotate the ink roll cover until the ink roll
is ex osed and the cover locks in lace.

1. Remove both reels from the reel su ort
stud.
2. Insert the s indle of the outer reel into
the su ly roll and inner reel hub.
3. Sna the assembly on the reel su ort
stud. Make sure labels unwind easily.
4. Lay the su ly stri over the unwind
s ring, under the feed guide, and
to the anti-backu roller.
5. Rotate the anti-backu roller clockwise
to advance the su ly under the su ly
stri er.
6. Use the su ly guide to hold the su ly
gently against the raised edge of the
laten.

1. Remove both reels from the reel su ort
stud.
2. Turn the su ly arm lock counter-
clockwise to unlock the su ly arm.
3. Lift the su ly arm and turn the lock
clockwise to lock the su ly arm.
4. Turn the su ly stud counter-clockwise
and remove it.
5. Insert the su ort stud into the second
osition and turn it clockwise to lock.
6. Insert the flange onto the outer reel.
7. When using string tags, shake the roll to
untangle the strings. Next turn the roll
over and brush the strings outward.
8. Place the inner reel hub into the su ly
roll. Make sure the strings are not
caught between the hub and roll.
9. Insert the s indle of the outer reel into
the su ly roll and inner reel hub.
10. Sna the reel assembly on the reel
su ort stud.
11. Insert the second flange onto the inner
reel when using non-string tags.
12. Insert the s indle of the outer reel into
the su ly roll and inner reel hub.
13. Sna the assembly on the reel su ort
stud. Make sure labels unwind easily.
14. Lay the su ly stri over the unwind
s ring, under the feed guide, and
to the anti-backu roller.

15. Rotate the anti-backu roller clockwise
to advance the su ly under the su ly
stri er.
16. Use the su ly guide to hold the su ly
gently against the raised edge of the
laten. If using string tags, make sure
strings travel freely in the feed ath.
S E T T I N G P R I N T B A N D S
1. Pull the knob out until character
ointers are on the desired osition.
2. Turn the knob until the desired
character a ears between the ointers.
(To rint a blank, select the blank s ace
for that osition.)
3. Re eat ste s 1-2 for each osition on
all lines.
4. Push in the knob when finished.
P R I N T E R O P E R A T I O N
1. Turn the handwheel clockwise. Always
sto with the handle at “6 o’clock”.
2. Sto after a few labels are rinted:
a) If data is incorrect, reset the bands.
b) If data osition is incorrect, check that
su lies are against the raised edge of
the laten. Adjust the su ly guide and
make sure the bands match the su ly
ty e. See “Print Location Adjustment”
for more information.
c) If rint quality is oor, see
“Troubleshooting” for more information.
3. Continue rinting, and rint one more
su ly than needed.
4. Tear off rinted su lies using the
su ly stri er. Leave half a label or
tag as leader for the next rinting.
5. Position su lies against the raised
edge of the laten.

Clean the feed ath and rint bands
regularly.
You will need a stiff-bristled non-metallic
brush, soft lint-free cloth, and a commercial
adhesive solvent.
1. Remove the rinthead assembly by
ressing down on the rinthead latch.
2. Brush the rint surface of the rint
bands with the brush.
Rotate the bands and clean all rint
characters.
CAUTION: Never use liquid cleaners or
solvents to clean bands.
4. Raise the feed guide assembly by
squeezing the two tabs.
Let the ink swing arm hold the assembly in
lace.
5. Remove su lies from the feed ath.
6. Use a soft cloth lightly moistened with
adhesive solvent to remove build-u .
Clean the laten, unwind s ring, and
the feed guide assembly.
7. Sna the feed guide assembly down.
8. Re lace the rinthead assembly by
inserting the li into the carrier recess.
Pivot the rinthead u until the latch
sna s into lace.

Problem Ac tion
Heavy rinting. Clean the rint bands.
Light rinting. Change the ink roll. (Never tr y to re-ink the ink roll.)
Voids in rinting. Clean the rint bands.
Does not rint. Check that rinthead assembly is latched correctly.
Incorrect rint location. Adjust rint location. Also check correct bands are set for su lies used.
Does not feed. Check feed guide is secure.
Check su ly arm osition.
Check that su lies are against the raised edge of the laten.
Torn su lies. Clean adhesive buildu from laten and feed guide.
