The use of any electrical appliance
requires the following common sense
safety rules.
Primarily there is danger of injury or death
and secondly the danger of damage to
the appliance. These are indicated in the
text by the following two conventions:

•Do not allow the cord to touch hot
surfaces. Let the iron cool completely
before putting away. Loop cord loosely
around the iron before storing.
Ot er safety considerations
• IMPORTANT : When not in use, your iron
should never be placed flat and left on an
ironing board.
• Do not operate the iron with a damaged
cord or if the iron has been dropped or if
there are visible signs of damage or if it is
leaking. To avoid the risk of electric
shock, do not disassemble the iron, but
telephone for advice. Incorrect
reassembly can cause a risk of electric
shock when the iron is used.
• Always disconnect the iron from the
electrical socket when filling with water,
emptying, cleaning and when not in use.
• To prevent damage to the textile being
ironed, follow the temperature guide
carefully and test the inside of the hem of
the garment.
• When ironing is complete, remove the
plug from the socket, empty any
remaining water from the tank, and allow
to cool before storage.
• If you drop or severely knock your iron
this could cause internal damage even if
the outside appears alright. Have it
checked by a qualified electrician.
• Ensure the product is set to the correct
voltage.
• This product is not for frequent use.
•The iron must be used and rested on a
stable surface.
•When placing the iron on its heel, ensure
that the surface on which the heel is
placed is stable.
C ildren
• Children do not understand the dangers
associated with operating electrical
appliances. Never allow children to use
this appliance.
• Close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used near children.
• Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance
Personal safety
•WARNING: Burns can occur from
touching hot metal parts, hot water
or steam. Use caution when you turn
a steam iron upside down, there may
be hot water in the water tan .
•WARNING: To protect against the ris
of electric shoc do not put the
appliance in water or in any other
liquid.
• Do not use the vertical steam feature on
clothes that are being worn.
• Do not leave the iron unattended whilst
plugged in or on an ironing board. Never
allow the mains lead to over hang the
work surface.
• Never yank the cord to disconnect from
the socket, instead, grasp plug and pull to
disconnect.

Voltage selection
Set the voltage selection switch ‚to the
correct voltage.
Filling wit water
1With the iron disconnected from the
mains supply, set the steam control flto
off C.
2Pull the water inlet ›cover out and using
the beaker provided fill the iron with
water B.
• Three cups of water will fill the tank
(75ml).
3Replace the water inlet cover.
4Always pour out the remaining water after
use.
In hard water areas the use of distilled or
demineralised water is recommended.
WARNING: When filling your iron with
tap water always use the bea er
provided. Never fill directly under the
tap.
•Use the iron only for its intended use.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its service
agent or similarly qualified persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
• This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
Electrical requirements
Check that the voltage on the rating plate
of your appliance corresponds with your
house electricity supply which must be
A.C. (alternating current).
WARNING: This appliance must be
earthed.
UK only
If the socket outlets in your home are not
suitable for the plug supplied with this
appliance the plug should be removed
and the appropriate one fitted.
WARNING : The plug removed from
the mains lead, if severed, must be
destroyed as a plug with a bared
flexible cord is hazardous if engaged
into a live soc et outlet.
Where used, should the fuse in the
13amp plug require changing, a 13 amp
BS1362 fuse must be fitted.

3After a few minutes the iron will stabilise
at the required temperature and the
indicator light will go out. It will cycle on-
off during operation to show that the iron
is maintaining the selected temperature.
It is always a good idea to begin with cool
fabrics and work up to higher settings. An
iron heats up quicker than it cools down
so you’ll save time and electricity.
If you do adjust the temperature from a
hot setting to a cooler setting, wait until
the iron temperature has stabilised before
you continue ironing.
IMPORTANT: Never use battery topping
up fluid or water containing any
substances like starch, or sugar, or
defrosted water from a refridgerator.
Temperature control
1Plug in the iron.
2Set the temperature control dial ¤to the
temperature required, but don’t start
ironing immediately. The temperature
indicator light ‹shows that the iron is
warming up.

Heat setting markings on the iron match those of the International Textile Care
Labelling Code.
Textiles and clothes should carry ironing instructions, but if they don’t, follow this fabric
guide. Be sure to test the temperature by ironing the hem of the garment or similar area
first.

Vertical steam
Hold the iron in a vertical position
between 1cm and 2cm away from the
item. Push the surge button.
• This feature is especially useful for
removing creases from hanging clothes,
curtains, wall hangings, etc.
Emptying and storing
When you have finished ironing, unplug
the iron and allow to cool. Ensure that the
steam control is set to the 'off' position.
Remove the water inlet cover and empty
any remaining water out of the filling hole.
Replace the water inlet cover.
Ensure the iron is cool and thoroughly dry
before storing in the bag provided.
IMPORTANT: The flex can be damaged if
wound too tightly around the iron after
use. Make a loose loop with the flex and
wrap it around the iron. The iron must be
cool before winding the flex and storing
on its heel.
Jet cleaning
Your iron has a built-in cleaning system
designed to keep the water valve, steam
chamber and steam vents clear of lint and
loose mineral deposits. Jet clean should
be used after each period of ironing.
1Ensuring that there is a little water in the
tank, place the iron on its heel and turn
the temperature control dial to the 3-dot
setting.
Dry ironing
You do not need to fill the iron with water.
Set the steam control to off.
• Any temperature setting may be used
depending on the garment.
Steam ironing
Turn the temperature control dial to the
steam position and rest the iron on its
heel whilst it warms up.
Turn the steam control to the steam
position C.
• The steam facility should only be used on
garments which are suitable for ironing at
the 3 dot settings.
Surge-of-steam
Push in the surge button ‡to obtain a
boost of extra steam for ironing out
creases in heavy material such as denim
etc D.
• The surge-of-steam can be used whilst
dry ironing, providing there is water in the
tank, and the temperature control is set
within the steam range.
• Do not use surge-of-steam at
temperatures below the steam range
shown on the control dial.
• For optimum steam quality, do not
operate the shot more than three times in
succession.

repair or replacement warranty.
It is important to retain the retailers
receipt as proof of purchase. Staple your
receipt to this back cover for future
reference.
Please quote the following information if
the product develops a fault. These
numbers can be found on the base of the
product.

All Morphy Richards products are
individually tested before leaving the
factory. In the unlikely event of any
appliance proving to be faulty within 28
days of purchase it should be returned to
the place of purchase for it to be
replaced.
2Wait for the temperature indicator light to
go out, then unplug the iron and hold it
about 6" (150mm) above the sink in the
ironing position.
3Press the surge button about 10 times in
succession.
4Empty out any remaining water.
IMPORTANT : Do not use descaling
products in this iron.
To clean a coated soleplate
In the unlikely event of any man-made
fibres fusing to the soleplate, set the iron
at the 3-dot position and pass it over a
clean piece of cotton which will draw the
deposit off the surface.
Do not use scouring powder or solution
as this could cause damage to the
coating.
To clean t e exterior
Allow the iron to cool and wipe with a
damp cloth, then dry.
If your iron doesn't work
If the iron does not work, check the
following:
• Has the temperature control been set to
the required temperature?
• Is the plug in its socket?
• Is the plug itself or the socket faulty?
Check by plugging in another appliance.

such as bags, filters and glass carafes.
This guarantee does not confer any rights
other than those expressly set out above
and does not cover any claims for
consequential loss or damage. This
guarantee is offered as an additional
benefit and does not affect your statutory
rights as a consumer.
AUSTRALIAN WARRANTY
This appliance is guaranteed for 2 years
against faulty material, components and
workmanship.
This warranty is in addition and does not
affect your statutory rights.
Proof of purchase must be produced for
any warranty benefit.
In the unlikely event of any appliance
proving to be faulty, securely pack and
return the item to the place of purchase
accompanied by the original receipt or
invoice.
If the fault develops after 28 days and
within 24 months of original purchase,
you should contact Morphy Richards
quoting Model number and Serial number
on the product, or write to Morphy
Richards at the address shown.
You will be asked to return the product (in
secure, adequate packaging) to the
address below along with a copy of proof
of purchase.
Subject to the exclusions set out below
(1-6) the faulty appliance will then be
repaired or replaced and dispatched
usually within 7 working days of receipt.
If for any reason this item is replaced
during the 2-year guarantee period, the
guarantee on the new item will be
calculated from original purchase date.
Therefore it is vital to retain your original
till receipt or invoice to indicate the date
of initial purchase.
To qualify for the 2-year guarantee the
appliance must have been used
according to the manufacturers
instructions. For example, appliances
must have been descaled and filters must
have been kept clean as instructed.
Morphy Richards shall not be liable to
replace or repair the goods under the
terms of the guarantee where:
1 The fault has been caused or is
attributable to accidental use, misuse,
negligent use or used contrary to the
manufacturers recommendations or where
the fault has been caused by power
surges or damage caused in transit.

Další bezpečnostní pokyny
•DŮLEŽITÉ: Když se žehlička nepoužívá,
nikdy by neměla ležet naplocho na žehlicím
prkně.
• Nepoužívejte žehličku s poškozeným
kabelem, nebo pokud byla upuštěna nebo
je poškozená. Abyste se vyhnuli riziku úrazu
elektrickým proudem, nedemontujte
žehličku, ale požádejte výrobce telefonicky
o radu. Nesprávná montáž může způsobit
riziko úrazu elektrickým proudem při
používání žehličky.
• Při plnění vodou, vyprazdňování, čištění
nebo když žehličku nepoužíváte, vždy ji
odpojte od elektrické zásuvky.
• Abyste zabránili poškození žehleného textilu,

• Až skončíte se žehlením, vytáhněte zástrčku
