Maintaining your AirBeams®
In the event of beam/s deating please check all valves are tight,
should they still deate please contact your retailer or the PatioEx
Vango customer service team for advice. AirBeams should not be
unzipped once inated as this may cause them to burst.
Storage and maintenance
Whenever possible pack your awning away when dry. If wet, dry
thoroughly at the rst opportunity, especially if it is to be stored.
Awnings stored wet will cause mould to grow, which will degrade the
fabric. Before storage, remove dirt and stains by washing with a mild
soap solution. Never use detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Fire and safety
Awning fabrics and re don’t mix. Keep naked ames away from the
material. In case of a re, keep track of where the zip pullers are for
quick escape. Never use a BBQ or light stoves inside your awning.
Caring for
Your Awning
Zips
Never force zips. Always pitch your awning with the door zips closed.
The life of your awning zips can be extended by regular cleaning. Do
this by running a toothbrush over the zip teeth to remove dust and
built up dirt.
Sun Damage
Awning fabrics will eventually weaken with extended exposure to
sunlight and fading may occur, however with normal holiday or
weekend use your awning should have many years of life.
Bad Weather
If rainy weather is anticipated, we would advise to close all windows.
In stormy weather and if high winds are anticipated we would advise
you to take down your PatioEx awning to avoid any damage.

Ventilation and condensation
All awnings are prone to condensation when the temperature in
the awning becomes warm and humid from people, heaters and
lack of ventilation. When warm air inside the awning hits the cool
fabric of the awning, the moisture condenses into liquid form.
The air held within the beams of a PatioEx circulates. If the
outside temperature is much cooler than inside the awning, then
the air cools in the beams quickly. The warm, humid air inside
the awning then condensates on to the area of the beams. This
moisture can then appear as water droplets on the AirBeam®
and in some cases may create pools of water at the base of the
AirBeam®. If the prevailing conditions are particularly prone to
condensation, remove items from around the base
of the beams.
How to prevent condensation?
To prevent condensation, ventilate your awning and reduce the
internal humidity by promoting good airow. Examine your awning
for venting options and open them to let the moist air ow out. If
the weather conditions permit, leave the upper and lower sections
of the door open, mesh sections can be kept fully zipped. Store
wet stu outside; towels, waterproofs, swimming trunks… keep
that soggy, wet stu out or near a vent or door.
Try not to touch the fabric or leave belongings close to the
walls. If pressure is applied water may seep through. When
pitching, nd a spot with a natural breeze to reduce the amount
of condensation and enhance air circulation, and don’t pitch too
close to the water as rivers and lakes can increase humidity.
Keeping
Condensation Away
