If completereceiver alignment Is tohe performed, It can most conveniently be done In the orderoutlined.
If the picture tube is removed, it will be necessary to shortpins 1 and14ofthe picturetubesocket to complete the filament circuit.
Use an isolationtransformer to protect the test equipment.
SOUND IF ALIGNMENT USING AM SIGNALGENERATOR AND VTVM
Connect a 10KO isolating resistor in series with the common lead ofthe VTVM and B- .

Connect the negative lead of a 3 voltbattery through lOKft to the junction of R20 and C24. Connect the positivelead to.B-.
Unsolder une end of the oscillator cathode choke (L7), to disable the local oscillator.
If a wide band scope is used, connect a 1000MMF capacitoracross the verticalamp. input terminals.
Set contrastcontrol to minimum.

curve as shown In Fig4.If2 peaksappear,
thedip between them should not exceed10%.
Resolder the cathode choke (L7). , ,
Setthe fine tuning control to the mid-position of its range.

Note that onthelow band channels, the antenna colls are adjusted atthe video carrier frequency of eachchannel andtheHF coils are adjusted at
the sound carrier frequency of eachchannel.
