Battery
■
Incasethebatteryliquid,(dilutesulfuricacid),comesincontact
with
clothing or skin
, rinse skin or clothing immediately
withplentyof water.
■
Incasethebatteryliquid,(dilutesulfuricacid),comesincontact
withyour
eyes
,rinseeyes immediatelywithplenty ofwater,
thencontactthenearestdoctor or hospitalandseek medical
attention.
Thebatterycontains acidsthat cancause injuryto theeyes and
skin. Toavoideyeirritation,
always
wearsafetyglasses orface
shielding. Use well insulated gloves when picking the battery
up. Use the following guidelines when handling the battery.

Use chock-blocks at each wheel when parked to prevent
trailerfrom rolling.
■
Use the trailer's swivel jack to adjust the trailer height to a
level position while parked.
■
Avoidsudden stopsand starts. This cancause thetrailerto
skid or jack-knife. Smooth, gradual starts and stops will
improvetowing.
■
Avoidsharpturns.
■
Trailer should be adjusted to a level position at all times
whentowing.
■
Raiseand lock trailerwheelstand inthe "UP"position when
transporting.
■
DOTrequirements includethe following:
Connectand testelectric brakeoperation.
Secureportable powercables incabletray withtie wraps.
■
DO NOT drop the battery. Any impact to
thebattery maycause ittoexplode.
■
DONOTexposethebatterytoopenflames,
sparks, lit cigarettes etc. The battery
containscombustiblegases andliquids. If
these gases and liquids come in contact
withaflameorsparkanexplosioncanoccur.
■
ALWAYS keepthe batterycharged. If the
batteryisnotchargedabuildupofcombustiblegaswilloccur.
■
ALWAYS keep battery cables in good working condition.
Repair or replace all worn cables.
■
ALWAYS disconnectthe
negative battery terminal
before
performingservice onthe trowel.
■
ALWAYS recharge the battery in a vented air environment
to avoid risk of a dangerous concentration of combustible
gases.
Towing Safety Precautions
Conform to
Department ofTransportation (DOT) Safety
Towing Regulations
before transporting trowel on public
roads.
To reduce the possibility of an accident while transporting the
trowelon publicroads,alwaysmakesurethetrailerthatsupports
thetrowelandthetowingvehicleareingoodoperating condition
andboth unitsare mechanicallysound.
Transporting
■
ALWAYS shutdown engine before transporting.
■
Tighten fuel tank cap securely and close fuel petcock to
preventfuel fromspilling.
■
Drainfuelwhentransportingtrowelforlongdistancesorover
badroads.
■
Whenplacingthe trowelona truck-bedfortransport,
always
tie-downthetrowel.
■
Ifthe trowelis beingtransportedviaa trailer, makesure the
trailercomplies withalllocal andstate safety transportation
laws. Refer to the following "
Towing Safety Precautions"
forbasictowing techniques.
The following list of suggestions should be used when towing
yourtrowel:
■
Make sure the hitch and coupling of the towing vehicle are
ratedequalto,orgreaterthanthetrailer"grossvehicleweight
rating"(GVWR) of6,000lbs.
■
ALWAYS inspect the hitch and coupling for wear. NEVER
towa trailerwith defectivehitches,couplings, chains,etc.
■
Checkthetire airpressure on bothtowingvehicleandtrailer.
Trailer tires should be inflated to 50 psi cold
. Alsocheck
thetire treadwear on bothvehicles.
■
ALWAYS make sure the trailer is equipped with "Safety
Chains ".
■
ALWAYS attach trailer's safety chains to towing vehicle
properly.
■
ALWAYS make sure the vehicle and trailer directional,
backup,brake, andtrailerlights areconnectedand working
■
DO NOT exceed the recommended highway speed when
towing. Unless posted otherwise, do not exceed 45 MPH
highway,and 10MPH off-road.
