1. Introduction
The PSE-608R(I)/616R(I)/624R PoE midspan, support 8/16/24 ports respe tively in a
10/100/1000BaseTx Ethernet network, over TIA/EIA-568 Category 5/5e/6 abling. DC
operating power, for data terminal units, is fed over data pairs of the abling (4/5 and 7/8).
This allows greater flexibility in the lo ating of network devi es and signifi antly de reasing
installation osts in many ases.
The PSE-608R(I)/616R(I)/624R follows the IEEE 802.3af/IEEE 802.3at and is ompletely
ompatible with existing Ethernet swit hes and networked devi es. Normally powers PDs
(Powered Devi es) that are Power over Ethernet enabled or are equipped to re eive power
over Ethernet. The PSE tests whether a networked devi e is PoE- apable, power is never
transmitted unless a Powered Devi e is at other end of the able. It also ontinues to
monitor the hannel. If the Powered Devi e does not draw a minimum urrent, be ause it
has been unplugged or physi ally turned off, the PSE shuts down the power to that port.
Devi es that are not equipped to re eive power over Ethernet may require an external
splitter in order to be powered. Conta t Mstroni for su h a splitter.

Power On
Conne t the power ord to the power so ket on the rear panel of the PSE. The other side
of power ord onne ts to the power outlet. The internal power supply of the PSE works
with voltage range of AC in the 100-240VAC, frequen y 50~60Hz, or with voltage range of
DC in the -42~-57VDC (40~60V for PSE-608RI/616RI). Che k the power indi ator on the
front panel to see if power is properly supplied.
Network Application
The PSE an provide power to the PD that follow the IEEE 802.3af/IEEE802.3at standard
in the network. It an solve the problem of position limitation. The network devi e an be
installed in more appropriate position for better performan e. The following figure is an
example of network appli ation for PSE
