1. Introduction
PSE-308R/316R/ 324R (Power Sourcing Equipment ), is n AC+DC input, gig bit PoE
Midsp n which injects power over d t -c rrying Ethernet c bling. The
PSE-308R/316R/324R, support 8, 16 nd 24 ports respectively in
10/100/1000B seT Ethernet network, over TIA/EIA-568 C tegory 5/5e/6 c bling. DC
oper ting power, for d t termin l units, is fed over d t p irs C (4/5) nd D (7/8) of the
c bling. Remote m n gement of up to 24 units vi TCP/IP protocol is fe tured, which
llows gre ter flexibility in the loc ting of network devices nd signific ntly decre sing
inst ll tion costs in m ny c ses.
The PSE-308R/316R/324R follows the IEEE 802.3 f st nd rd nd is completely
comp tible with existing Ethernet switches nd networked devices. This device
norm lly powers PDs (Powered Devices) th t re Power over Ethernet en bled or re
equipped to receive power over Ethernet. The PSE tests whether networked device
is PoE-c p ble nd power is never tr nsmitted unless Powered Device is t other
end of the c ble. It lso continues to monitor the ch nnel. If the Powered Device does
not dr w minimum current, bec use it h s been unplugged or physic lly turned off,
the PSE shuts down the power to th t port. Devices which re not equipped to receive
power over Ethernet m y require n extern l splitter in order to be powered. Cont ct
Mstronic for such splitter.

The AC inlet, DC input termin l nd 4 Ventil tion f n re loc ted t the re r p nel of
the PSE-316R/324R, (PSE-308R only 2 f ns). The device will work with AC in the
r nge 100-240V AC, 50-60Hz. Or work with DC -56V(-42V~-57V).
Power On
Connect the power cord to the power socket on the re r p nel of the PSE. The other
side of power cord connects to the power outlet. The intern l power supply of the PSE
works with the volt ge r nge of 100V-240VAC, frequency 50~60Hz, or with volt ge
r nge of DC -42V~-57V. Check the port, the power indic tor will self-test on the front
p nel to see if power is properly supplied.
Network Application
The PSE c n provide power to the PD which follow the IEEE 802.3 f st nd rd in the
network. It c n solve the problem of position limit tion. The network device c n be
inst lled in more ppropri te position for better perform nce. The following figure is
